In 1961, field investigations on "saúva de vidro" (parasol ant, Atta laevigata (Fred. Smith, 1858) were carried out at Piracicaba and other regions of the State of São Paulo (Brazil). This species was found to be a serious pest of cultivated plants, specially Eucalyptus and cotton. The ant makes its colony in any kind of soil, but it prefers to live in the poor ones.

Estudos sobre nematodeos filarideos: Dipetalonema caudispina (Molin 1858)

The A. studies critically the literature on D. caudispina (Molin, 1858) and concludes that it is a good species, differing from D. gracilis (Rudolphi, 1809), principally, by the longer spicule. This conclusion is confirmed by the study of material collected by d'Almeida in the abdominal cavity of one specimen of Ateles paniscus (L.), of the State of Pará, Brazil. In contradiction to Stiles & Hassall's opinion the A. indicates this monkey for host-type of the Molin's species. A synonymic list and a redescription of D. caudispina are given.

Os autores descrevem a fêmea de L. wilsoni (Damasceno e Causey, 1945), por eles conhecida desde 1963, porém somente agora publicada, e que é extremamente semelhante à de L. saulensis (Floch e Abonnenc, 1944), o que mostra a estreita afinidade entre as duas espécies. É, também, dada a distribuição geográfica atualmente conhecida de L. wilsoni.

The Core ideas and axioms of classical fascism (1919-1945)

This article presents and explores the axioms and core ideas, or idées-force, of the Fascist ideologies of the first third of the twentieth century. The aim is to identify the features that define the term “Classical Fascism” as a conceptual category in the study of politics and to uncover the core ideas of its political theory. This analysis requires an appraisal of both the idées-force themselves and the political use that is made of them. If these appreciations are correct, Classical Fascism is characterized by a set of ideological and political aims and methods in which ideas, attitudes and behaviours are determined by an anti-democratic palingenetic ultranationalism underpinned by a sacralized ideology; the quest for a united, indissoluble society as apolitical system and, at the same time, the collective myth that mobilizes and redeems the nation; and third, violence as a political vehicle applied unchecked against internal opposition and against external enemies who challenge the nation´s progression towards the dream of rebirth and the culmination of this progression in the form of an empire.

La comunicació al servei de la institucionalització. El cas de la revista "Forja" (1945-1966) de l'entorn Virtelià

El component religiós ha estat molt important en la formació de persones que han tingut un paper destacat en l’anomenada societat civil a partir de la recuperació de la democràcia: la formació religiosa que van rebre va desenvocar, posteriorment, en acció política. I aquesta aproximació l'hem treballada a través de la força d’una publicació anomenada 'Forja', una revista de la Confraria de la Mare de Déu de Montserrat de Virtèlia, que articulà al seu voltant tot un camp simbòlic de sentit. S’ha descrit el que s’ha anomenat “entorn Virtèlia”, un entorn creat per unes institucions, –les escoles Virtèlia i la Confraria de la Mare de Déu de Montserrat de Virtèlia–, i una xarxa de relacions personals. Les escoles Virtèlia van ser vigents entre 1939 i 1995. Més de cinquanta anys i generacions, sent les del periode 1940-1960 en el centre d’aquest treball.
