Este libro es un nuevo fascículo del volumen I del proyecto CSIR-España, que a modo de corpus reúne, con carácter general y de modo minuciosamente sistemático, los sarcófagos romanos decorados de Andalucía, cuyo mayor número ya había sido objeto de publicación. La investigación histórica e iconográfica sobre los sarcófagos hispanos (en especial para los ejemplares paleocristianos) es deudora fundamentalmente de los estudios realizados por Sotomayor (1966: 77-99; 1975) y, más recientemente, por Koch (2000), además de dos de los autores que firman este trabajo, que en los últimos años se han detenido metódicamente sobre los sarcófagos béticos de tema profano (Beltrán, 1999; Rodríguez Oliva, 2001: 107-127).

The PEDRO (Pocketable Electronic Devices in Radiation Oncology) project: how clinical practice is changing among young radiation oncologists.

Purpose. To evaluate the impact of mobile devices and apps on the daily clinical activity of young radiation oncologists. Methods. A web-based questionnaire was sent to 382 young (≤40 years) members of the Italian Association of Radiation Oncology (AIRO). The 14 items investigated the diffusion of mobile devices (smartphones and/or tablets), their impact on daily clinical activity, and possible differences perceived by the participants over time. Results. A total of 158 questionnaires were available for statistical evaluation (response rate 41%). Up to 75% of respondents declared they used an electronic device during their clinical activity. Conversely, 82% considered the impact of smartphones/tables on daily practice low to moderate. Daily device use increased significantly from 2009 to 2012, with high daily use rates rising from 5% to 39.9%. Fulfillment of professional needs was declared by less than 42% of respondents and compliance with app indications by 32%. Almost all physicians desired in 2012 a comprehensive website concerning a variety of apps covering radiation oncologists' needs. Conclusions. Mobile devices are widely used by young Italian radiation oncologists in their daily clinical practice, while the indications so obtained are not always followed. Nevertheless, it would be important to verify the consistency of information found within apps, in order to avoid potential errors that might be detrimental to patients.

Some game-theoretic grounds for meeting people half-way

It is well known that, in distributions problems, fairness rarely leads to a single viewpoint (see, for instance, Young (1994)). In this context, this paper provides interesting bases that support the simple and commonly observed behavior of reaching intermediate agreements when two prominent distribution proposals highlight a discrepancy in sharing resources. Specifi cally, we formalize such a conflicting situation by associating it with a `natural' cooperative game, called bifocal distribution game, to show that both the Nucleolus (Schmeidler (1969)) and the Shapley value (Shapley (1953a)) agree on recommending the average of the two focal proposals. Furthermore, we analyze the interpretation of the previous result by means of axiomatic arguments. Keywords: Distribution problems, Cooperative games, Axiomatic analysis, Nucleolus, Shapley value. Implantació de la metodologia àgil SCRUM en el manteniment de sistemes CRM

L'objectiu d'aquest projecte és definir una metodologia de treball àgil en el manteniment de sistemes CRM basada en la metodologia de desenvolupament de software SCRUM. A partir de l'estudi d'aquesta metodologia i de la definició dels processos de manteniment d'un sistema CRM, el projecte adapta aquests processos i proposa una nova metodologia que millorarà el rendiment, l'eficiència i la satisfacció tant dels equips de treball que participen en l'execució d’aquests processos com dels clients finals.

Conservation of 'Pedro Sato' guavas under treatment with 1-methylcyclopropene

The search for techniques that extend shelf life of guava (Psidium guajava) fruits, and reduce its postharvest losses is desirable. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effects of concentrations of competitive ethylene antagonist 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) on conservation of 'Pedro Sato' guava fruits. Treatments consisted of 0, 100, 300 or 900 nL L-1 of 1-MCP for 3 hours followed by storage at 25ºC, and 10ºC with 90±5% RH. The application of 900 nL L-1 1-MCP for 3 hours was efficient in delaying loss of skin color, and in keeping fruit firmness at both storage temperatures. The 300 nL L-1 of 1-MCP concentration was efficient in delaying skin color loss only when fruits were stored at 10ºC. The effect of 1-MCP was quite significant on the reduction of rot incidence at both storage temperatures. The respiratory rate was lower in fruits treated with 300 and 900 nL L-1 of 1-MCP during storage at 25ºC. The product was efficient in delaying the ripening of fruits, and the concentration of 900 nL L-1 showed the best effect.
