Produção Fotovoltaica em Autoconsumo e Pequena Produção: Caso de Estudo do ISEP

A presente dissertação insere-se no âmbito da unidade curricular de “Dissertação/Projeto/Estágio”, do 2º ano do mestrado em Engenharia Eletrotécnica – Sistemas Elétricos de Energia. Com o crescente aumento do consumo energético a nível mundial, e consequente esgotamento dos recursos fósseis, surge a necessidade de procurar soluções alternativas para a produção de energia. As energias renováveis aparecem como uma solução sustentável na produção de eletricidade, pois a sua produção representa um menor custo. Este trabalho tem como principais objetivos o dimensionamento de uma central de produção fotovoltaica para o ISEP nos regimes de exploração em autoconsumo e pequena produção, tendo em conta o atual Decreto-Lei (DL) n.º 153/2014, e também a análise de viabilidade económica dessa mesma instalação. O sistema fotovoltaico usado no dimensionamento em autoconsumo e pequena produção foi realizado com recurso ao software PVsyst. Tendo em conta que os consumos do ISEP são bastante inferiores nos períodos de férias escolares e fins-de-semana, e também por haver uma limitação de área disponível para a colocação dos módulos fotovoltaicos, a melhor opção a adotar será um sistema fotovoltaico de 237 kWp, tanto para autoconsumo como para pequena produção. Outro objetivo é a realização de um estudo de viabilidade económica do sistema fotovoltaico dimensionado. Os resultados obtidos permitem então clarificar qual dos regimes de exploração é mais viável para o ISEP, sendo que esses resultados poderão servir de apoio a uma futura decisão, caso o ISEP decida instalar um sistema deste tipo.

Adaptação do programa PAC-Pórticos ao EC2 e sua integração com o conceito BIM

Atualmente existe uma grande variedade de programas de cálculo automático de estruturas de betão armado disponíveis no mercado, pois estes, cada vez mais, são inerentes ao desenvolvimento de cada projeto de estruturas. O PAC-Pórticos foi um dos primeiros a chegar ao mercado nacional surgindo no início da década de noventa. Foi totalmente desenvolvido em Portugal, tendo tido bastante sucesso nas suas vendas a nível nacional. O PAC-Pórticos não está preparado para operar diretamente nos mais recentes sistemas operativos nem foi programado para dimensionar os diversos elementos de betão armado seguindo os termos das normas mais recentes (Eurocódigos). O tema do presente trabalho vai de encontro aos atuais problemas do programa, assim sendo, definiu-se como primeiro objetivo a adaptação do PAC-Pórticos à regulamentação europeia para o betão armado. Numa 1ª fase, para a adaptação do PAC-Pórticos aos novos códigos, foi necessário estudar o programa em si, perceber o seu funcionamento e posteriormente realizar uma comparação entre a legislação para qual o software está programado, o Regulamento de Estruturas de Betão Armado e Pré-Esforçado (ainda em vigor) e a Norma Europeia correspondente a EN 1992-1-1 (Eurocódigo 2). Seguidamente, procedeu-se ao estudo e adaptação de todas as sub-rotinas de cálculo do PAC-Pórticos para o dimensionamento de vigas e pilares, tendo finalmente sido testado o novo código e comprovados os resultados obtidos com o mesmo. Na realização do presente trabalho, não foi ignorada a importância crescente da metodologia BIM que, nos dias de hoje, tende a ser implementada nos programas de cálculo de engenharia civil. Neste âmbito, o segundo objetivo é o de conseguir visualizar uma solução obtida do PAC-Pórticos numa qualquer ferramenta tridimensional BIM. Para tal, foram ponderadas várias hipóteses, mas optou-se por criar dois plug-in para o programa AutoCAD da Autodesk. O primeiro destes plug-in contempla o desenho das vigas e o segundo para os pilares, ambos em 3D e elaborados de forma automática.

ClearPhoto - augmented photography

The widespread use of mobile devices has made known to the general public new areas that were hitherto confined to specialized devices. In general, the smartphone came to give all users the ability to execute multiple tasks, and among them, take photographs using the integrated cameras. Although these devices are continuously receiving improved cameras, their manufacturers do not take advantage of their full potential, since the operating systems normally offer simple APIs and applications for shooting. Therefore, taking advantage of this environment for mobile devices, we find ourselves in the best scenario to develop applications that help the user obtaining a good result when shooting. In an attempt to provide a set of techniques and tools more applied to the task, this dissertation presents, as a contribution, a set of tools for mobile devices that provides information in real-time on the composition of the scene before capturing an image. Thus, the proposed solution gives support to a user while capturing a scene with a mobile device. The user will be able to receive multiple suggestions on the composition of the scene, which will be based on rules of photography or other useful tools for photographers. The tools include horizon detection and graphical visualization of the color palette presented on the scenario being photographed. These tools were evaluated regarding the mobile device implementation and how users assess their usefulness.

m-SportGIS

Information technologies (ITs), and sports resources and services aid the potential to transform governmental organizations, and play an important role in contributing to sustainable communities development, respectively. Spatial data is a crucial source to support sports planning and management. Low-cost mobile geospatial tools bring productive and accurate data collection, and their use combining a handy and customized graphical user interface (GUI) (forms, mapping, media support) is still in an early stage. Recognizing the benefits — efficiency, effectiveness, proximity to citizens — that Mozambican Minister of Youth and Sports (MJD) can achieve with information resulted from the employment of a low-cost data collection platform, this project presents the development of a mobile mapping application (app) — m-SportGIS — under Open Source (OS) technologies and a customized evolutionary software methodology. The app development embraced the combination of mobile web technologies and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) (e.g. Sencha Touch (ST), Apache Cordova, OpenLayers) to deploy a native-to-the-device (Android operating system) product, taking advantage of device’s capabilities (e.g. File system, Geolocation, Camera). In addition to an integrated Web Map Service (WMS), was created a local and customized Tile Map Service (TMS) to serve up cached data, regarding the IT infrastructures limitations in several Mozambican regions. m-SportGIS is currently being exploited by Mozambican Government staff to inventory all kind of sports facilities, which resulted and stored data feeds a WebGIS platform to manage Mozambican sports resources.

Los requisitos del Negocio que requieren un gran crecimiento generan mayor complejidad en los Centros de Cómputo.Son los administradores quienes necesitan gestionar el creciente volumen de datos, aplicaciones, y usuarios, así como la rápida proliferación de los servidores y los diferentes sistemas operativos. En este proyecto se pretende reducir la complejidad en la gestión de los Centros de Cómputo, combinando la automatización de la gestión del ciclo de vida y todas las medidas de contingencia necesarias para mantener la integridad de los mismos.

TcruziDB, an Integrated Database, and the WWW Information Server for the Trypanosoma cruzi Genome Project

Data analysis, presentation and distribution is of utmost importance to a genome project. A public domain software, ACeDB, has been chosen as the common basis for parasite genome databases, and a first release of TcruziDB, the Trypanosoma cruzi genome database, is available by ftp from ftp://iris.dbbm.fiocruz.br/pub/genomedb/TcruziDB as well as versions of the software for different operating systems (ftp://iris.dbbm.fiocruz.br/pub/unixsoft/). Moreover, data originated from the project are available from the WWW server at http://www.dbbm.fiocruz.br. It contains biological and parasitological data on CL Brener, its karyotype, all available T. cruzi sequences from Genbank, data on the EST-sequencing project and on available libraries, a T. cruzi codon table and a listing of activities and participating groups in the genome project, as well as meeting reports. T. cruzi discussion lists (tcruzi-l@iris.dbbm.fiocruz.br and tcgenics@iris.dbbm.fiocruz.br) are being maintained for communication and to promote collaboration in the genome project

MAMOT: hidden Markov modeling tool.

Hidden Markov models (HMMs) are probabilistic models that are well adapted to many tasks in bioinformatics, for example, for predicting the occurrence of specific motifs in biological sequences. MAMOT is a command-line program for Unix-like operating systems, including MacOS X, that we developed to allow scientists to apply HMMs more easily in their research. One can define the architecture and initial parameters of the model in a text file and then use MAMOT for parameter optimization on example data, decoding (like predicting motif occurrence in sequences) and the production of stochastic sequences generated according to the probabilistic model. Two examples for which models are provided are coiled-coil domains in protein sequences and protein binding sites in DNA. A wealth of useful features include the use of pseudocounts, state tying and fixing of selected parameters in learning, and the inclusion of prior probabilities in decoding. Accessibilitat web : revisió d'accessibilitat del repositori documental de la UOC, Dspace

Aquest treball fi de carrera tracta sobre les normes d'accessibilitat WCAG 2.0 ("Web Content Accessibility Guidelines"). Són una sèrie de pautes i recomanacions per fer el contingut web més accessible, sobretot a una gamma més àmplia de persones amb discapacitat, com ceguesa i baixa visió, sordesa i la pèrdua d'audició, problemes d'aprenentatge, limitacions cognitives, limitacions de moviments, problemes de parla, fotosensibilitat i combinacions d'aquestes. Seguint aquestes directrius també fan sovint el contingut del seu web més usable per als usuaris en general.Les WCAG 2.0, recomanació oficial des del 11 de desembre de 2008, s'organitzen en 4 principis fonamentals per a l'accessibilitat del contingut: perceptible, operable, comprensible i robust.En total conformen 12 pautes o directrius (guidelines), els dos primers principis tenen quatre pautes associades, el tercer té tres i l'últim una pauta. Aquestes pautes proporcionen els objectius bàsics per fer el contingut accessible, i serveixen per comprendre els criteris d'èxit i implementar-los. S'han definit 60 criteris d'èxit o punts de comprovació que defineixen el nivell d'accessibilitat (A, AA o AAA).Per altra banda, s'analitzaran alternatives al programari que empra la UOC, Dspace, com a repositori de documentació. D'aquestes alternatives es valorarà sobretot l'aspecte d'accessibilitat per tal de determinar si l'elecció del Dspace ha estat l'opció més adient. També es s'analitzaran algunes planes del repositori de la UOC per tal de verificar el nivell de compliment de de les WCAG 2.0.Al mateix temps es farà una recerca d'eines que ens puguin ajudar en l'avaluació de l'accessibilitat i s'anomenaran en els punts que ens puguin ajudar cadascuna d'aquestes.

In the near future, access to data and home automation systems in the home supported by the implementation of GNU-Linux operating systems in our homes, a reality of the first order for the implementation of real homes and automated digital awarding a cost reduction by the intensive use of the resources provided directly by the Open Software Community. The future possibilities seem almost endless: telecommuting, centralized household accounts, software distributed online training for young people in the house, multimedia at all levels, design and artistic creation (particularly through electronic digital displays are spreading rapidly in our homes), targeted towards home automation automated digital, integrated control of home security, digital entertainment ... and with free applications at no additional cost that can be easily downloaded from the usual repositories, ensuring the online update of these tools. In short, new ways of understanding in the home automation, telecommuting and digital entertainment within the broader framework of our Information Society.

Preventive medicine for epidemic outbreaks and risky behavior through mobile devices and ubiquitous computing

In this work, we have developed the first free software for mobile devices with the Android operating system that can preventively mitigate the number of contagions of sexually transmitted infections (STI), associated with risk behavior. This software runs in two modes. The normal mode allows the user to see the alerts and nearby health centers. The second mode enables the service to work in the background. This software reports the health risks, as well as the location of different test centers.
