This layer is a georeferenced raster image of the historic paper map entitled: A topographical map of the northn. part of New York Island : exhibiting the plan of Fort Washington, now Fort Knyphausen, with the rebels lines to the southward, which were forced by the troops under the command of the Rt. Honble. Earl Percy on the 16th. Novr. 1776, and survey'd immediately after by order of His Lordship, by Claude Joseph Sauthier, to which is added the attack made to the northd. by the Hessians ; survey'd by order of Lieutt. Genl. Knyphausen. It was published by Wm. Faden in 1777. Scale [ca. 1:20,000]. Covers Manhattan north of 92nd St. and a portion of the Bronx. The image inside the map neatline is georeferenced to the surface of the earth and fit to the Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) Zone 18N NAD83 projection. All map collar and inset information is also available as part of the raster image, including any inset maps, profiles, statistical tables, directories, text, illustrations, index maps, legends, or other information associated with the principal map. This map shows features such as topography, ground cover, roads, drainage, forts, battery, redoubts, barracks, troop and battle locations, and other defenses, landings, bridges, and more. Relief is shown by hachures. Includes index to military points of interest. This layer is part of a selection of digitally scanned and georeferenced historic maps from The Harvard Map Collection as part of the Imaging the Urban Environment project. Maps selected for this project represent major urban areas and cities of the world, at various time periods. These maps typically portray both natural and manmade features at a large scale. La Universidad de Valladolid y las reformas de Carlos III

Dar a conocer la importancia que pudo tener la Universidad de Vllladolid en el movimiento reformista. Analizar la incidencia que la reforma tuvo en ella. Documentaci??n de archivos: Universitario, Provincial, Municipal, Hist??rico Nacional, etc.. Tres son las cuestiones sobre las que se asientan las conclusiones del presente trabajo: ??contribuy?? la Universidad de Valladolid a la implantaci??n de la reforma?, ??apoy?? la reforma o se opuso a ella?, ??salv?? la reforma a la Universidad de la decadencia en que se hallaba?. La Universidad vallisoletana contribuy?? a la implantaci??n de la reforma, ya que manifest?? inter??s incluso solicit?? una reforma como medio necesario para corregir los abusos y el atraso existente y darle un nuevo impulso. Los colegiales de Santa Cruz junto con los principales colegios mayores de Espa??a favorecieron la reforma colegial. En los planes de estudio la reforma fue muy t??mida. Una vez implantada la reforma en contra de lo que se esperaba se produjo un movimiento contrario debido a la instauraci??n de nuevas ordenanzas con las que la mayor parte de los miembros de la Universidad estaban en desacuerdo. Respecto a la decadencia en que se hallaba la Universidad vallisoletana no podemos ofrecer una respuesta categ??rica a si la reforma permiti?? dar una soluci??n por dos razones: ni la reforma fue perfecta, ni la Universidad se volc?? en ella para que triunfara. Los aspectos a los que m??s afect?? fueron a lo gubernativo, docente y pedag??gico, y administrativo que consiguieron dar cierto auge a la instituci??n entre 1771 y 1777. Tras esta fecha la reforma deja ver sus fallos y se vuelve a una etapa de decadencia. Al final del siglo XVIII la situaci??n era como a inicios de siglo. La reforma estaba olvidada.
