Multiple Input Governor Control for a Diesel Generating Set

The paper presents a multiple input single output fuzzy logic governor algorithm that can be used to improve the transient response of a diesel generating set, when supplying an islanded load. The proposed governor uses the traditional speed input in addition to voltage and power factor to modify the fuelling requirements during various load disturbances. The use of fuzzy logic control allows the use of PID type structures that can provide variable gain strategies to account for non-linearities in the system. Fuzzy logic also provides a means of processing other input information by linguistic reasoning and a logical control output to aid the governor action during transient disturbance. The test results were obtained using a 50 kVA naturally aspirated diesel generator testing facility. Both real and reactive load tests were conducted. The complex load test results demonstrate that, by using additional inputs to the governor algorithm, enhanced generator transient speed recovery response can be obtained.

School Ethos and Governor Relationships

This paper argues that an understanding of ethos is essential for appreciating the process of policy implementation in schools. Whilst educational literature consistently refers to the importance of ethos as a means of understanding the distinctive nature of schools, there is little exploration of school ethos as an effective mediator of policy. Drawing on qualitative data collected in three primary schools it will be demonstrated how ethos can act as a bridge or a barrier to the successful construction of the model of collaborative relationships between school governors and heads, as set out by the education reform legislation of the late 1980s

State of South Carolina : Governor Hayne’s message

Governor Hayne speaks of the superiority of individual state sovereignty and states’ rights over mandates by the federal government. Hayne’s speech comes after President Andrew Jackson’s Nullification Proclamation that disputed a state’s right to nullify a federal law, in response to South Carolina’s ordinances declaring the tariff acts of 1828 and 1832 unconstitutional.

Annual message of his excellency Franklin J. Moses, Jr., Governor of South Carolina, to the General Assembly at the regular session of 1872-73

Governor Moses calls on South Carolinians to endeavor to become a respected member of the United States following the U.S. Civil War. His message addresses the status of the national debt, South Carolina public education, the South Carolina Orphan Asylum, the South Carolina Lunatic Asylum, the state penitentiary, the state’s quarantine of small pox, the revenue-generating phosphate deposits in the state, immigration to the state, the state’s flagship university, current state legislation, and the state militia.

This speech was delivered to by the Governor to give the general assembly information of the condition of the state and give them recommendations to consider measures that the Governor deems necessary or expedient. He provides the information regarding the state debt, taxes, and bonded debt. He describes the financial agent of the state as well as the expenditures of the state government.

This speech was addressed to the people of the Senate and House of Representatives. It was delivered to inform them of the progress over the past year made to place the finances of the state on a firm and healthy basis. He gives a report on all departments and projects funded by the government in the past year.

Governor General Michener's Visit

In October of 1969, Governor General Rolland Michener along with the Bailiff of Guernsey were invited to tour the Niagara Region with Dr. Gibson as part of a series of events to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Sir Isaac Brock's birth.
