Description of Culicoides lisicarruni (Diptera: Ceratopogonidae), a new species from Cundinamarca, Colombia

A new species of Culicoides of the subgenus Diphaomyia Vargas from high altitudes of the Andes in Colombia is described and photographied. The species is compared with its similar congener Culicoides marinkellei Wirth & Lee. Data on the collecting site and notes on the species daily activity are also provided.

Políticas productivas y competitividad industrial: El caso de Argentina y Brasil

This article aims, on the one hand, to analyze the increase of productive asymmetries between Argentina and Brazil that have been evidencing during the last two decades, and are currently reveled in the structural trade deficit of industrial products that affects Argentina in the bilateral relationship. On the other hand, it intends to contribute to understanding the roots of these asymmetries based on the differences in the public policies implemented by both countries during the period extending from the implementation of the Mercosur, in the early 1990s, until 2008. The focus is set on the technological pattern of industrial production and trade structures, considering a non neutral impact over the long term development.

Capital intelectual y competencias distintivas en pymes madereras de Argentina

En la economía del conocimiento cada vez adquiere más importancia el capital intelectual como fuente de competencias distintivas. Una competencia distintiva se obtiene combinando los factores internos y externos de la empresa, mediante la estrategia, para generar mejor desempeño que sus competidores. Las pequeñas y medianas empresas (PyMEs) madereras argentinas suelen tener características específicas, de modo especial, aquellas relacionadas a su capital intelectual. En consecuencia se espera que el proceso de constitución de competencias distintivas sea diferente. Este trabajo analiza las particularidades de ese proceso. Los resultados obtenidos muestran como organizan sus recursos y capacidades para constituir su nivel de competitividad. Este genera mejores resultados organizativos, pero no afecta de modo directo a los resultados económicos.

Tres especies nuevas de Simulium Latreille de la región Neotropical: Simulium (Hemicnetha) cristalinum sp.n., (Grenieriella) wygodzinskyorum sp.n. y sumapazense sp.n. (Diptera, Simuliidae)

Tres especies nuevas son descriptas: Simulium (Hemicnetha) crisatalinum proveniente de Roraima, Brasil (hembra, macho, pupa y larva; pertenciente al el grupo brachycladum); (Grenieriella) wygodzinskyorum de Junin, Perú (hembra, macho, pupa y larva; pertenciente al el grupo lahillei); (Grenieriella) sumapazense proveniente de Cundinamarca, Colombia y descripta con base en la pupa y parte del macho.

New records added to the Colombian fauna: Susuacanga unicolor (Bates, 1870), Opades costipennis (Buquet, 1844), Eburodacrys havanensis Chevrolat, 1862, E. granipennis Gounelle, 1909, E. moruna Martins, 1997, E. nemorivaga Gounelle, 1909, E. pilicornis Fisher, 1944. New species described: Pantomallus martinezi, from Cundinamarca and Meta and Beraba inermis, from Cundinamarca.

New species described from Colombia: Amphicnaeia interrupta sp. nov., from Cauca; Adetus tayronus sp. nov., from Magdalena; A. aberrans sp. nov., from Santander; Parmenonta albosticta sp. nov., from Cundinamarca; Jamesia bella sp. nov., from Cauca. New records for nine species of Colombian Lamiinae (Apomecynini, Agapanthiini, Onciderini) are given.

New taxa described from Colombia: Desmiphora (D.) tristis sp. nov. from Cundinamarca; Blabia longipennis sp. nov. from Nariño; Anhanga gen. nov., type species A. diabolica sp. nov. from Valle del Cauca; Exalphus vicinus sp. nov. from Santander; Necalphus maranduba sp. nov. from Amazonas; Paradesmus gen. nov., type species, P. iuba sp. nov. from Atlántico. New combination proposed: Padesmus brunneus (Aurivillius, 1923) from Adesmus. New records for nineteen species (Acanthoderini, Acanthocinini, Aerenicini, Desmiphorini, Hemilophini, Polyrhaphidini) of Colombian fauna are given.
