Crianças feiticeiras: reconfigurando família, igrejas e estado no pós-guerra angolano

Acusações de feitiçaria a crianças e adolescentes têm emergido em diversas partes da África, com destaque para a República Democrática do Congo. Em Angola este fenômeno é observado principalmente entre o grupo étnico Bakongo. Procura-se aqui apontar alguns fatores envolvidos na emergência deste fenômeno em Angola, considerando esta especificidade étnica. Outro objetivo é o de analisar como diferentes agentes em instituições do Estado angolano, igrejas e ONGs vêm construindo percepções, discursos e formas de intervenção sobre esta questão, considerando diferentes noções de alteridade, cultura, família, igreja e comunidade.

Development and characterization of orally-disintegrating films for propolis delivery

This study aimed at evaluating the effect of different concentrations of hydrolyzed collagen (HC) on the properties of an orally disintegrating film containing propolis ethanol extract (PEE) as an active component. The films were evaluated in terms of total phenols, mechanical properties, solubility, contact angle, disintegration time, and microstructure. The films were prepared by casting with 2 g of protein mass (gelatin and HC), 30 g of sorbitol/100 g of protein mass, and 100 g of PEE/100 g of protein mass. HC was incorporated at concentrations of 0, 10, 20, and 30 g/100 g of protein mass. It was found that increased concentrations of HC reduced tensile strength and increased elongation; however, all films showed plastic behavior. An increase in solubility at 25 ºC, a reduction in the contact angle, and disintegration time were also observed. Thus, higher concentrations of collagen led to more hydrophilic and more soluble polymeric matrices that showed shorter dissolution time, favoring the use of these materials as carriers for active compounds to be delivered in the oral cavity.

Welfare State e emprego em saúde nos países avançados desde o Pós-Segunda Guerra Mundial

The article analyzes the economic importance of the health activities in the developed countries in the last decades of the twentieth century. It takes into consideration the evolution of the weight of the employment in the health activities in European countries' and also in the United States' labour markets, which will be compared in an historical perspective. The evolution and the weight of the public expenditure in the health activities will also be taken into account so as to analyze the economic importance of the sector in the last decades of twentieth century. The role played by the political, economic and social context of the Post-Second World War in the construction of the system of social protection (Welfare State) and its effects over the health activities will be also considered.

Marxismo e filosofia: algumas considerações sobre os textos políticos Merleau-Pontyanos do pós-guerra

A tentativa merleau-pontyana de aproximação do marxismo, empreendida nos idos do pós-guerra, é perpassada por constante ambigüidade. Não obstante o propósito do filósofo de se filiar à teoria de Marx, suas análises políticas revelam-se distantes de suas intenções. Concebendo a história como uma "aventura" que escapa a qualquer esquema racional, Merleau-Ponty questiona, desde seus primeiros escritos, a dialética marxista entre lógica e contingência na história. A tensão interna que dilacera os textos do autor nos anos 40, anunciando (e preparando) a recusa da teoria da revolução estampada mais tarde nas Aventuras da Dialética, permite indagar se esse desfecho dos anos 50 não teria sido, ao invés de um corte no interior da obra, o resultado necessário dessa tentativa problemática de aproximação do marxismo a partir de categorias que lhe são estranhas (próprias às filosofias da existência e à fenomenologia).

O texto Princípios do Direito da Guerra de Rousseau, integraria a segunda parte da obra maior planejada pelo autor e que se chamaria: Instituições Políticas. Neste texto Rousseau desenvolve uma rigorosa análise acerca do direito da guerra, na qual se contrapõe aos posicionamentos de Hobbes e de Grotius, autores que em seu entender, fizeram de tudo agradar aos poderosos e para despojar os povos de seus direitos, favorecendo o despotismo e a violência.
