Educação no asilo dos expostos da Santa Casa em São Paulo: 1896-1950

Este texto pretende identificar aspectos da educação das crianças de zero a seis anos, no Asilo dos Expostos da Santa Casa de Misericórdia de São Paulo, de 1896 até 1950. Para tanto, foram consultados os Relatórios dos Mordomos dos Expostos. O texto trata inicialmente das propostas para os bebês, e posteriormente das propostas para as crianças de três a seis anos. Em relação aos bebês, o aspecto mais importante foi o fato de as crianças não serem mais entregues às amas para serem criadas, permanecendo no berçário, que foi fundado em 1936. Com relação às crianças maiores, desde o início do século identifica-se a existência do jardim-de-infância, que irá também se renovar na década de 1940, com a chegada de profissionais ligadas à secretaria estadual de educação. As propostas e as concepções pedagógicas existentes na sociedade se manifestam nas funções educacionais do asilo.

Effect of growth regulators on 'Brookfield' apple gas diffusion and metabolism under controlled atmosphere storage

The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of growth regulators on gas diffusion and on metabolism of 'Brookfield' apple, and to determine their correlation with quality characteristics of fruit stored in controlled atmosphere. A completely randomized design was used with four replicates. After eight months of storage, the effects of water (control), aminoethoxyvinylglycine (AVG), AVG + ethephon, AVG + naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA), ethephon + NAA, sole NAA, 1-MCP, ethylene absorption by potassium permanganate (ABS), AVG + ABS, and of AVG + 1-MCP - applied at different rates and periods - were evaluated on: gas diffusion rate, ethylene production, respiratory rate, internal ethylene concentration, internal CO2 content, mealiness, and intercellular space. Fruit from the control and sole NAA treatments had the highest mealiness occurrence. Growth regulators significantly changed the gaseous diffusion through the pulp of 'Brookfield' apple, mainly in the treatment AVG + ABS, which kept the highest gas diffusion rate. NAA spraying in the field, with or without another growth regulator, increased ripening metabolism by rising ethylene production and respiration rate, and reduced gas diffusion during shelf life. AVG spraying cannot avoid the ethephon effect during the ripening process, and reduces both the internal space and mealiness incidence, but it is not able to induce ethylene production or to increase respiration rates.

Atratividade e preferência alimentar de adultos de Epicauta atomaria (Germ., 1821) (Col.: Meloidae) em maracujazeiros (Passiflora spp.), sob condições de laboratório

A atratividade e a preferência alimentar de adultos de Epicauta atomaria (Germ., 1821) por folhas de espécies de maracujazeiro Passiflora spp. foram avaliadas sob condições de laboratório. Em testes de atratividade realizados em placas de Petri e olfatômetro, os discos foliares e extratos foliares de P. setacea e P. edulis f. flavicarpa foram os mais preferidos por adultos de E. atomaria, enquanto P. giberti, P. nitida e P. alata foram os menos preferidas nos dois tipos de recipientes. Nos testes de consumo com e sem chance de escolha utilizando discos foliares, P. setacea foi a mais consumida, confirmando sua suscetibilidade; P. giberti e P. nitida foram pouco consumidas, apresentando não-preferência para alimentação como mecanismo de resistência; P. edulis f. flavicarpa e P. alata também revelaram não-preferência para alimentação, porém em níveis mais baixos.

WOMAN IN CHEMISTRY. JANE MARCET, A RELEVANT FIGURE IN CHEMISTRY EDUCATION

A historiographical study of Jane Marcet’s role in spreading chemistry knowledge to a wider audience in the 19th century is presented here. Her efforts to spread scientific knowledge were crucial to sharing the most important theories of chemistry among different audiences, particularly women and young people. Through her book, “Conversations on Chemistry,” which was published in several editions from 1806 to 1853, she contributed significantly to chemistry education. Despite controversy over the large number of editions, this text is a strong witness to the active participation of women in science. Her scientific rigor and contribution to narrative strategies in chemistry pedagogy have given Jane Marcet consideration not only as an important woman in the scientific community of England during the first half of the 19th century but also as a central figure in the early development of chemistry diffusion and education.

The Hegel's Vorlesungen über die Philosophie der Religion (1821-1831) sources and critical editions from Marheineke to Jaeschke

In this paper I provide a concise plan about Hegel's Lectures on the Philosophy of Religion critical editions, laying stress on the method followed by editors in order to build a coherent text with the sources at their disposal. The Marheineke's edition (1832) is analysed with special attention since it was the edition that caused the division between a Right and a Left, opening the discussion on speculative theism as a consequence of the difficulty to distinguish the systematic part from the historical one in the reasoning carried out by Hegel.
