Az integrációt, mint folyamatot, valamint állapotot (integráltság), az integráció „intenzitását” az irodalomban nagyszámú mutatóval mérik. A mérési kísérletek a globális és regionális integrációk feltérképezésére és elemzésére egyaránt kiterjednek. A mérés kérdésének különös jelentősége van a gazdaságpolitikai kihívások és a hatékony válaszok kidolgozása szempontjából. / === / Many methods exist in the literature to measure the level and intensity of integration both as a process and as a state. These measurement exercises can be used to assess both global and regional integration. The most important goal of measurement is to provide inputs for effective policy making. The paper provides a review on the various approaches used in the context of the European Union.

Az integrációérettség elméletének továbbgondolása és kiterjesztése (Rethinking the theory of integration maturity)

Az integrációérettség elméletével és összefüggéseivel Palánkai Tibor mélyen és részletesen foglalkozik. Napjainkra egy olyan egyedi módszertant is megalkotott ezzel kapcsolatban, amely a hazai és nemzetközi integrációérettséggel foglalkozó irodalom egyik meghatározó elemévé vált. Jelen tanulmány megkíséreli az elmélettel kapcsolatos főbb eredmények összefoglalását és az integrációérettség módszertanának rövid ismertetését, valamint áttekinti a módszertan alkalmazásának lehetséges területeit, ami magában foglalja annak kiterjesztését a Nyugat-Balkán államainak jellegzetességeire. _____ Tibor Palánkai focuses on integration problems of the EU candidate countries. He created a new concept of integration maturity with a unique methodology, which have already begun a significant concept and methodology among international and domestic literature. The study tries to give a summary of this concept and methodology, focusing on the main results. Moreover, the paper discusses the extension of this methodology, which includes its adaptation to the Western Balkan countries.

Cross-country and inter-temporal analysis of Supply Chain Integration (SCI): China, Hungary and the Netherlands - changes in SCI from 1996 to 2008

Using plant level data from a global survey with multiple time frames, one begun in the late 1990s, this paper introduces measures of supply chain integration and discusses the dynamic relationship between the level of integration and a set of internal and external performance measurements. Specifically, data from Hungary, The Netherlands and The People’s Republic of China are used in the analyses. The time frames considered range from the late 1990s till 2009, encompassing major changes and transitions. Our results seem to indicate that SCI has an underlying structure of four sets of indicators, namely: (1) delivery frequency from the supplier or to the customer; (2) sharing internal processes with suppliers; (3) sharing internal processes with buyers and (4) joint facility location with partners. The differences between groups in terms of several performance measures proved to be small, being mostly statistically insignificant - but looking at the ANOVA table we can conclude that in this sample of companies those having joint location with their partners seem to outperform others.

Evaluation of the EU membership of the new member states

When analysing the impacts of EU membership on NMCs, and in particular on the Hungarian economy, we consider integration maturity as a theoretical framework. Integration maturity can be defined as a capability to exploit the benefits of the given form of integration to the maximum, while the costs and drawbacks can be minimised. Integration maturity can be measured by comparing costs and benefits. A country is mature for integration if membership on the whole is advantageous for it.

A regionalizmus három generációja Latin-Amerikában (Three generations of regionalism in Latin America)

A szerző a Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem Nemzetközi Tanulmányok Intézetének tanársegéde. Tanulmánya a regionalizmus jelenségét vizsgálja Latin-Amerikában, célja az egyes generációk létrejöttének és legfőbb jellemzőinek felvázolása, illetve a jelenleg működő latin-amerikai integrációs tömörülések eredményeinek és legfontosabb kihívásainak vizsgálata. A cikk rávilágít a latin-amerikai alrégiók mentén megalakult csoportok belső integrációja, illetve a más régiókkal való interregionális törekvések közötti szoros összefüggésre, azok kölcsönhatására. A szerző éppen ezért a regionális tömörülések eredményei mellett kitér az egyes latin-amerikai alrégiók más – fejlett és fejlődő világbeli – régiókkal kiépített kapcsolataira is. ______ The paper examines initiatives aimed at regional integration in Latin-America in order to identify the main characteristics of the three generations of regionalism on the continent, as well as show what the main results and challenges are of today's regional organizations. The paper demonstrates that there is an interesting link between the level of integration within the various regional groupings and their interregional contacts with other regions. The author also examines the relations of Latin-American sub-regions with other regions of the world, both developed and developing.
