Intellectual Capital Paradox

The authors have analysed the economic growth and its determining factors in countries of the European Union, particularly in Hungary and Ukraine. We applied quantitative methods by analysing topic related database. We have found that the Central-Eastern European Periphery has not finished its transition, and this change is heading in the direction of the Southern Periphery of the European Union. As the Southern Periphery is the area of economic crises right now, it is obvious that something should be done in order to avoid falling to the same fate for the Central-Eastern European Periphery. The authors introduced a new production function and with its help they identified the bottlenecks of growth in Hungary and Ukraine, namely the organizational and human capital that in its present development stage, do not correspond to the needs of creating state of the art larger companies. The present crisis pushes both countries to postpone long-term developments, such as investments into human capital, and in this way makes the solution of the crisis more difficult.

Macroeconomic characteristics and inventory investment: a multi-country study

The paper is a new element in a series of studies analyzing macroeconomic inventory behavior by use of multi-country data. In this paper, seven hypotheses are tested with positive result. These hypotheses include subjects like relations of inventories with growth and with some other macroeconomic indicators of the use of GDP and the long-term tendencies of global inventory formations. Multivariate statistical analysis is used for evaluation.

A zöldbeszerzés motivációs háttere (The motivational background of green purchasing)

A vállalatok zöldbeszerzési gyakorlatának különbözőségei számos kutatást indukáltak. Ezek a kutatások egyrészt motivációs, illetve gátló tényezők keresésével, másrészt racionális szakmai kritériumokkal magyarázzák a vállalati beszerzési gyakorlat eltéréseit. Ez a tanulmány a nemzetközi szakirodalmi háttér áttekintése után egy kérdőíves felmérés segítségével elemzi a zöldbeszerzési gyakorlat egyes tevékenységeit azzal a céllal, hogy a motivációs tényezők beszerzési tevékenységekre gyakorolt hatását mutassa. Eredménye, hogy kapcsolatot azonosít a válaszadó személyes motiváltsága és a vállalatának beszállítók kezelésére vonatkozó gyakorlata között. ____ Green purchasing practice of companies has indicated a number of research publications. These publications investigate drivers and barriers but rarely focus on how these motivational factors influence supplier management practice. The aim of this paper is to investigate this relationship. After presenting some literature results on motivation and identification of elements of green supplier management practice it will describe the research framework highlighting personal motivational attitudes. Survey results will be presented.
