The problem of the description of interaction between spatially divided agents in the form of dialogues is explored. The concept of processes synchronization is analyzed to formalize the specification of interaction at the level of events constituting the processes. The approach to formalization of the description of conditions of synchronization when both the independent behavior and the communications of agents can be presented at a logic level is offered. It is shown, that the collective behavior of agents can be specified by the synthetic temporal logic that unites linear and branching time temporal logics.

Part of network management is collecting information about the activities that go on around a distributed system and analyzing it in real time, at a deferred moment, or both. The reason such information may be stored in log files and analyzed later is to data-mine it so that interesting, unusual, or abnormal patterns can be discovered. In this paper we propose defining patterns in network activity logs using a dialect of First Order Temporal Logics (FOTL), called First Order Temporal Logic with Duration Constrains (FOTLDC). This logic is powerful enough to describe most network activity patterns because it can handle both causal and temporal correlations. Existing results for data-mining patterns with similar structure give us the confidence that discovering DFOTL patterns in network activity logs can be done efficiently.

In this work, we determine the coset weight spectra of all binary cyclic codes of lengths up to 33, ternary cyclic and negacyclic codes of lengths up to 20 and of some binary linear codes of lengths up to 33 which are distance-optimal, by using some of the algebraic properties of the codes and a computer assisted search. Having these weight spectra the monotony of the function of the undetected error probability after t-error correction P(t)ue (C,p) could be checked with any precision for a linear time. We have used a programm written in Maple to check the monotony of P(t)ue (C,p) for the investigated codes for a finite set of points of p € [0, p/(q-1)] and in this way to determine which of them are not proper.

Interval Temporal Logic provides time-dependant formal description of hardware and software. Such formalism is needed for description of behaviors of the middleware of AOmLE project, depending on different scenarios of operation. In order to use ITL, we need an interpreter. Tempura provides executable ITL framework, written in C language. We cannot use Tempura as is, because AOmLE is developed entirely in Java. For this reason we need Java version of Tempura. This paper describes our plan for reengineering of CTempura and creating Java version if the ITL interpreter.

This paper presents the application of Networks of Evolutionary Processors to Decision Support Systems, precisely Knowledge-Driven DSS. Symbolic information and rule-based behavior in Networks of Evolutionary Processors turn out to be a great tool to obtain decisions based on objects present in the network. The non-deterministic and massive parallel way of operation results in NP-problem solving in linear time. A working NEP example is shown.

In this paper the key features of a two-layered model for describing the semantic of dynamical web resources are introduced. In the current Semantic Web proposal [Berners-Lee et al., 2001] web resources are classified into static ontologies which describes the semantic network of their inter-relationships [Kalianpur, 2001][Handschuh & Staab, 2002] and complex constraints described by logical quantified formula [Boley et al., 2001][McGuinnes & van Harmelen, 2004][McGuinnes et al., 2004], the basic idea is that software agents can use techniques of automatic reasoning in order to relate resources and to support sophisticated web application. On the other hand, web resources are also characterized by their dynamical aspects, which are not adequately addressed by current web models. Resources on the web are dynamical since, in the minimal case, they can appear or disappear from the web and their content is upgraded. In addition, resources can traverse different states, which characterized the resource life-cycle, each resource state corresponding to different possible uses of the resource. Finally most resources are timed, i.e. they information they provide make sense only if contextualised with respect to time, and their validity and accuracy is greatly bounded by time. Temporal projection and deduction based on dynamical and time constraints of the resources can be made and exploited by software agents [Hendler, 2001] in order to make previsions about the availability and the state of a resource, for deciding when consulting the resource itself or in order to deliberately induce a resource state change for reaching some agent goal, such as in the automated planning framework [Fikes & Nilsson, 1971][Bacchus & Kabanza,1998].

The paper presents a new network-flow interpretation of Łukasiewicz’s logic based on models with an increased effectiveness. The obtained results show that the presented network-flow models principally may work for multivalue logics with more than three states of the variables i.e. with a finite set of states in the interval from 0 to 1. The described models give the opportunity to formulate various logical functions. If the results from a given model that are contained in the obtained values of the arc flow functions are used as input data for other models then it is possible in Łukasiewicz’s logic to interpret successfully other sophisticated logical structures. The obtained models allow a research of Łukasiewicz’s logic with specific effective methods of the network-flow programming. It is possible successfully to use the specific peculiarities and the results pertaining to the function ‘traffic capacity of the network arcs’. Based on the introduced network-flow approach it is possible to interpret other multivalue logics – of E.Post, of L.Brauer, of Kolmogorov, etc.

Real-time systems are usually modelled with timed automata and real-time requirements relating to the state durations of the system are often specifiable using Linear Duration Invariants, which is a decidable subclass of Duration Calculus formulas. Various algorithms have been developed to check timed automata or real-time automata for linear duration invariants, but each needs complicated preprocessing and exponential calculation. To the best of our knowledge, these algorithms have not been implemented. In this paper, we present an approximate model checking technique based on a genetic algorithm to check real-time automata for linear durration invariants in reasonable times. Genetic algorithm is a good optimization method when a problem needs massive computation and it works particularly well in our case because the fitness function which is derived from the linear duration invariant is linear.
