The present article discusses units of measure and their base units, work environments built in the Units package of the computer algebra system Maple. An analysis is drawn of the tools of the application in connection with the use of physical quantities and their features. Maple’s main commands are arranged in groups depending on the function. Some applied mathematical problems are given as examples making use of derivative, integral and differential equations.

Algorithmic resources are considered for elaboration and identification of monotone functions and some alternate structures are brought, which are more explicit in sense of structure and quantities and which can serve as elements of practical identification algorithms. General monotone recognition is considered on multi- dimensional grid structure. Particular reconstructing problem is reduced to the monotone recognition through the multi-dimensional grid partitioning into the set of binary cubes.

This work shows an application of a generalized approach for constructing dilation-erosion adjunctions on fuzzy sets. More precisely, operations on fuzzy quantities and fuzzy numbers are considered. By the generalized approach an analogy with the well known interval computations could be drawn and thus we can define outer and inner operations on fuzzy objects. These operations are found to be useful in the control of bioprocesses, ecology and other domains where data uncertainties exist.
