Владимир Тодоров - Нека X е компактно метрично пространство с dim X = n. Тогава за n − 1 - мерния диаметър dn−1(X) на X е изпълнено неравенството dn−1(X) > 0, докато dn(X) = 0 (да отбележим, че това е една от характеристиките на размерността на Лебег). От тук се получава, че X съдържа минимално по включване затворено подмножество Y , за което dn−1(Y ) = dn−1(X). Известен резултат е, че от това следва, че Y е Канторово Многообразие. В тази бележка доказваме, че всяко такова (минимално) подпространство Y е даже континуум V^n. Получени са също така някои следствия.

Perturbed Proximal Point Algorithm with Nonquadratic Kernel

Let H be a real Hilbert space and T be a maximal monotone operator on H. A well-known algorithm, developed by R. T. Rockafellar [16], for solving the problem (P) ”To find x ∈ H such that 0 ∈ T x” is the proximal point algorithm. Several generalizations have been considered by several authors: introduction of a perturbation, introduction of a variable metric in the perturbed algorithm, introduction of a pseudo-metric in place of the classical regularization, . . . We summarize some of these extensions by taking simultaneously into account a pseudo-metric as regularization and a perturbation in an inexact version of the algorithm.

Equivariant Embeddings of Differentiable Spaces

Given a differentiable action of a compact Lie group G on a compact smooth manifold V , there exists [3] a closed embedding of V into a finite-dimensional real vector space E so that the action of G on V may be extended to a differentiable linear action (a linear representation) of G on E. We prove an analogous equivariant embedding theorem for compact differentiable spaces (∞-standard in the sense of [6, 7, 8]).

Digital Collections in Regional Public Library “P. R. Slaveikov” – Veliko Tarnovo in the Context of the National Program for Preservation and Promotion of Literary Heritage

Nowadays the great public libraries in Bulgaria are gaining the appearance of digital centers which provide new informational resources and services in the digital space. The digital conversion as a way of preservation is one of the important priorities of Regional Public Library in Veliko Tarnovo. In the last few years we persistently search for possible ways of financing by national and foreign programs in this direction. In the beginning the strategy was oriented to digitalization of the funds with most urgent conversion – these of the local studies periodicals from 1878 till 1944 year. The digitalization of funds will create conditions of laying the basement of full text database of Bulgarian periodical publications. The technology that is offered gives opportunities for including other libraries in the Unified index, which can develop it into a National Unified index of periodical publications. The integrated informational environment that is created is an attractive, comfortable and useful place for work in home or at work for researchers, historians, art experts, bibliographers. The library readers use very actively all informational services of the library internet page and work competently with the on-line indexes provided there, they find the necessary title, which can be demanded later for usage in home or in the library, using electronic means again.
