The biggest threat to any business is a lack of timely and accurate information. Without all the facts, businesses are pressured to make critical decisions and assess risks and opportunities based largely on guesswork, sometimes resulting in financial losses and missed opportunities. The meteoric rise of Databases (DB) appears to confirm the adage that “information is power”, but the stark reality is that information is useless if one has no way to find what one needs to know. It is more accurate perhaps to state that, “the ability to find information is power”. In this paper we show how Instantaneous Database Access System (IDAS) can make a crucial difference by pulling data together and allowing users to summarise information quickly from all areas of a business organisation.

Recommender systems are now widely used in e-commerce applications to assist customers to find relevant products from the many that are frequently available. Collaborative filtering (CF) is a key component of many of these systems, in which recommendations are made to users based on the opinions of similar users in a system. This paper presents a model-based approach to CF by using supervised ARTMAP neural networks (NN). This approach deploys formation of reference vectors, which makes a CF recommendation system able to classify user profile patterns into classes of similar profiles. Empirical results reported show that the proposed approach performs better than similar CF systems based on unsupervised ART2 NN or neighbourhood-based algorithm.

The paper deals with methods of choice in the INTERNET of natural-language textual fragments relevant to a given theme. Relevancy is estimated on the basis of semantic analysis of sentences. Recognition of syntactic and semantic connections between words of the text is carried out by the analysis of combinations of inflections and prepositions, without use of categories and rules of traditional grammar. Choice in the INTERNET of the thematic information is organized cyclically with automatic forming of the new key at every cycle when addressing to the INTERNET.

This paper presents an extended behavior of networks of evolutionary processors. Usually, such nets are able to solve NP-complete problems working with symbolic information. Information can evolve applying rules and can be communicated though the net provided some constraints are verified. These nets are based on biological behavior of membrane systems, but transformed into a suitable computational model. Only symbolic information is communicated. This paper proposes to communicate evolution rules as well as symbolic information. This idea arises from the DNA structure in living cells, such DNA codes information and operations and it can be sent to other cells. Extended nets could be considered as a superset of networks of evolutionary processors since permitting and forbidden constraints can be written in order to deny rules communication.
