The City Educator Program is articulated with PROEX-Pro - Deanship Culture and Student Affairs through the Directorate of Extension, along with the Institute of Geography, Faculty of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design Institute and the City Futura Pro. Program is conducted since 2008 by the Federal University of Uberlândia and Motion City Futura. The outreach program aims to promote democratic governance and smart planning municipal and regional level, enabling public and social (government technicians, law enforcement officers, and civil society leaders) seeking implementation of legal instruments, urban and tributaries in the counties of Araguari and Uberlândia, established in the City Statute and Master Plans, and the Fiscal Responsibility, Social Rights established by the Constitution, and all the instruments of social control in the municipalities involved. The methodology includes content developed through dynamic, research participant, group work and exposure dialogue. The results were relevant to holding the Course on Urban Management and Sustainable Democratic, Uberlândia A Forum for Sustainable Leadership Training Course Ethical and Sustainable, Community Workshops Seminars in Neighborhoods assessment; Map Workshop Speaker, Research Participants, Seminars and Interactive Campaigns Mobilization office in the territory. Were produced articles, reports and reflections that are public in book form. At the end of the implementation of program activities, the municipal governments, entities and non-governmental organizations as well as citizens who, directly or indirectly, involved with the program, attended the final seminar where, besides the presentation of results, was made, collectively, evaluation and assessment of all activities

Segurança alimentar e consumismo na contemporaneidade : A agricultura familiar como resposta aos desafios para uma alimentaçâo saudável

As transformações recentes na economia brasileira e da orientação política com relação aos problemas relacionados à pobreza, fome e iniquidade social, provocaram mudanças no padrão de consumo da população. Consequentemente a melhoria na distribuição de renda abrandou o problema da fome e de acesso aos alimentos. No entanto, se por um lado essa mudança apresentou resultados positivos, por outro, houve um aumento de doenças relacionadas à má alimentação. O objetivo do artigo é discutir aspectos da segurança alimentar, tendo como alternativa a contribuição da agricultura familiar, sobretudo das cooperativas de agricultores familiares da região Sul do Estado de Santa Catarina. A metodologia utilizada foi a bibliográfica, através de fontes secundárias ? como artigos acadêmicos, documentos de órgão públicos - e fontes primárias obtidas a partir de reuniões realizadas no ano de 2011 e 2012. Os resultados da pesquisa de campo evidenciam novas formas alternativas de produção e consumo, baseadas em produtos tradicionais da agricultura familiar. Verificou-se que já são sete cooperativas de agricultores familiares em funcionamento, produzindo mais de oitenta produtos diferenciados, e que além da produção de alimentos saudáveis, estão revitalizando formas alternativas de produção, oportunizando aos consumidores da região a aquisição de produtos com melhor qualidade.

The article discusses the memories and the history stored in the family archive of Francis Mouro, migrant in Rio de Janeiro, in the first half of the twentieth century. The Mouro family, since the nineteenth century, decided to adopt Brazil as preferred destination. However, like so many Galician families also choose other destinations, moving to Portugal, Uruguay and Argentina. Through letters and personal documents preserved by the immigrant family is possible to reconstruct the migratory chains formed over more than half a century, the solidarity networks and migration of a city of intense immigration to Rio de Janeiro, as the galego city Santa Comba
