Zur Gewährleistung einer kundenindividuellen, flexiblen Produktion, welche auch kleine Losegrößen kostengünstig produzieren kann, werden zukünftig Fabriken der Prozessindustrie nicht nur modular sondern darüber hinaus mobil sein. Zur Erreichung dieses Zieles werden neben Produktionselemente, auch sämtliche Logistikkomponenten in Containern zu Modulen zusammengefasst. Hierfür ist es notwendig Lager, aber auch komplexe Verpackungsmaschinen, zu konzipieren welche sich zusammen mit Produktionsmodulen, nach dem Plug-and-Produce-Prinzip, zu kompletten Produktionslinien verknüpfen lassen. Die Steuerung und Organisation erfolgt nach den Gedanken von Industrie 4.0.

Mainly addressed to students of Biology, the book tries to avoid the use of mathematical formula as far as possible. Exercises can be performed with a related software tool (tkCybernetics) for part 1 as well as with educational simulation on neural networks for part two (in prepration.)

Mathematical methods for the configuration of transportation systems with a focus on continuous and modular matrix conveyors

The lack of flexibility in logistic systems currently on the market leads to the development of new innovative transportation systems. In order to find the optimal configuration of such a system depending on the current goal functions, for example minimization of transport times and maximization of the throughput, various mathematical methods of multi-criteria optimization are applicable. In this work, the concept of a complex transportation system is presented. Furthermore, the question of finding the optimal configuration of such a system through mathematical methods of optimization is considered.

Novel calculation method for chain conveyor systems

Sidexflexing plastic chains are used increasingly in material handling due to their highly flexible conveying design and layout options. These systems are often equipped with so called modular belts. Due to their specific force transmission, detailed calculation methods are not yet available. In the following, a generally valid calculation approach is derived and its difference to existing solutions shown by examples.
