Social Work Students’ Use of Knowledge in Direct Practice – Reasons, Strategies and Effects

This article describes a study of Swedish social work students’ use of knowledge during their field practice. Data was collected by using short written narratives, where the students reflect on situations from practice, situations they experienced as critical or problematic. The narratives were analysed with a method inspired by the interpretation theory of Paul Ricoeur. The article starts with a discussion adhering to the present trend of evidence-based social work practice. This is followed by a study of 144 narratives from social work students containing critical or problematic events. A quantitative description of the material as well as qualitative model of two type-strategies, that social work students use, is presented. The results show, among other things, that students use several forms of knowledge, where facts/evidence is one of several. The study also shows that there is a strong adaptation to varying critical situations. A conclusion is that it is difficult to a priori define the types and proportions of knowledge to use in social work practice.

Die generativen Fertigungsverfahren haben längst ihren Platz in der Wertschöpfungskette neben konventionellen Prozessen eingenommen. Trotzdem müssen die Anwender immer wieder aufs Neue für die recht abstrakten Möglichkeiten und Chancen der Verfahren sensibilisiert werden. Querdenken kann oft schneller und effizienter zur erfolgreichen Problemlösung beitragen als traditionelle Schlüsselwege. Deshalb soll der Beitrag einige Kernpunkte ansprechen, die die additiven Verfahren in den Unternahmen – speziell das LaserCUSING® - als überaus sinnvolle Ergänzung des Technologieparks erachten. Neben der Herstellung von metallischen Prototypen geht der Vortrag insbesondere auf die Vielfalt der Effekte integrierbarer Kanäle in Formeinsätzen besonders des Spritzgusswerkzeugbaus ein.

Integration of Truncated Distributions in Exponential Family with Simulation Models of Logistics and Supply Chain Management

Truncated distributions of the exponential family have great influence in the simulation models. This paper discusses the truncated Weibull distribution specifically. The truncation of the distribution is achieved by the Maximum Likelihood Estimation method or combined with the expectation and variance expressions. After the fitting of distribution, the goodness-of-fit tests (the Chi-Square test and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test) are executed to rule out the rejected hypotheses. Finally the distributions are integrated in various simulation models, e. g. shipment consolidation model, to compare the influence of truncated and original versions of Weibull distribution on the model.

Integration zeitvariabler Energiekosten in die Belastungsorientierte Auftragsfreigabe

In dem vorliegenden Beitrag wird ein Ansatz zur Integration von Energiekosten in bestehende Fertigungssteuerungsverfahren vorgestellt. Das entwickelte Verfahren basiert auf dem Ansatz der Belastungsorientierten Auftragsfreigabe (BOA) und berücksichtigt schwankende Strompreise aufgrund der zunehmenden Einspeisung regenerativer Energien in das Stromnetz. Die Weiterentwicklung ermöglicht besonders kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen (KMU) die Einsparung von Energiekosten durch organisatorische Maßnahmen der Fertigungssteuerung ohne kapitalintensive Investitionen.
