Parallel recusive algorithms for inverse discrete Legendre transform and inverse discrete Laguerre transform

This paper presents parallel recursive algorithms for the computation of the inverse discrete Legendre transform (DPT) and the inverse discrete Laguerre transform (IDLT). These recursive algorithms are derived using Clenshaw's recurrence formula, and they are implemented with a set of parallel digital filters with time-varying coefficients.

Efficient computation of discrete polynomial transforms

This letter presents a new recursive method for computing discrete polynomial transforms. The method is shown for forward and inverse transforms of the Hermite, binomial, and Laguerre transforms. The recursive flow diagrams require only 2 additions, 2( +1) memory units, and +1multipliers for the +1-point Hermite and binomial transforms. The recursive flow diagram for the +1-point Laguerre transform requires 2 additions, 2( +1) memory units, and 2( +1) multipliers. The transform computation time for all of these transforms is ( )

Equivariant inverse spectral theory and toric orbifolds

Let O-2n be a symplectic toric orbifold with a fixed T-n-action and with a tonic Kahler metric g. In [10] we explored whether, when O is a manifold, the equivariant spectrum of the Laplace Delta(g) operator on C-infinity(O) determines O up to symplectomorphism. In the setting of tonic orbifolds we shmilicantly improve upon our previous results and show that a generic tone orbifold is determined by its equivariant spectrum, up to two possibilities. This involves developing the asymptotic expansion of the heat trace on an orbifold in the presence of an isometry. Mental Health and Aging at the 2005 White House Conference on Aging: Two Steps Forward, One Step Back

Success! At the 2005 White House Conference on Aging, three-quarters of the 1,200 national delegates voted to improve “recognition, assessment, and treatment of mental illness and depression among older Americans.” This resulted in mental health being ranked as #8 of the final 50 WHCoA policy resolutions resulting from the conference. Joining this resolution in the “top ten” were two resolutions intimately tied to hopes for addressing the mental health needs of older adults—at #6 “Support Geriatric Education and Training for Health Care Professionals, Paraprofessionals, Health Profession Students and Direct Care Workers,” and #9 “Attain Adequate Numbers of Healthcare Personnel in All Professions Who are Skilled, Culturally Competent, and Specialized in Geriatrics.”
