Wohnen und Habitat sind entscheidende Aspekte des Alltagslebens in mikrohistorischer Hinsicht. korrespondierend mit der Ökonomie des Raumes stellen sie relevante Dimensionen und Produkte des Handelns in Gesellschaften auf der Makroebene dar. Die hier versammelten Beiträge zeugen von der Notwendigkeit der Erneuerung des Themenfeldes Wohnen in vielfältigen gesellschaftlichen, kulturellen und praxeologischen Perspektiven. Sie spannen den Bogen vom Spätmittelalter bis zur Gegenwart, von der entlegenen Burg bis zur Metropole. Sie stellen dabei Bezüge her zu den zeitgenössischen «turns and trends» der Forschung, zu den Debatten über Wohn-, Wirtschafts- und Haushaltsformen bis hin zu den Spannungen zwischen Raumökonomie und Sozialreform, Öffentlichkeit und privater Raum sowie Mobilität und Häuslichkeit.

Since October 2011, the enzymatic lysis of Dupuytren's cord was introduced in Switzerland (Xiapex(®), Auxilium Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer). Here we present our first university experience and underline the major role of ultrasound during the injection. Between December 2011 and February 2013, 52 injections were performed to eliminate 43 Dupuytren's cords in 33 patients. The mean age of the patients was 64.4 ± 8.5 years. Complications were documented for each patient. Before, directly after and after a minimum of 6 months post-injection, the contracture of the treated joint was measured with use of a goniometer. The DASH score was evaluated after a minimum of 6 months and the patients were asked to subjectively evaluate the outcome of the treatment (very good, good, mild, poor) and whether they would reiterate it if necessary. Four skin defects, one lymphangitis, and one CRPS were responsible for a complication rate of 18%. There was no infection and no tendon rupture in the series. The mean MCP joint contracture was respectively 36.8 ± 27.4°, 3.5 ± 7.8° (gain of mobility compared to the preoperative situation 33.3°, P<0.001), and 8.4 ± 13.9° (gain 28.4°, P<0.001) respectively before, just after and at the long-term clinical control. The mean PIP joint contracture was respectively 36.5 ± 29.1°, 5.9 ± 6.7° (gain 30.6°, P<0.001), and 15.1 ± 13.8° (gain 21.4°, P<0.001) respectively before injection, just after and at the long-term clinical control. The DASH score decreased from 24 ± 14 to 7 ± 9 (P<0.001). Eighty-one per cent of the patients were satisfied or very satisfied of the treatment. All but two would reiterate the treatment if necessary. Ultrasound is able to target the injection of collagenase in order to reduce complications. The short-term results of this non-invasive therapy are very promising however comparison with conventional procedures is difficult as the long-term results are lacking.

FUS/TLS (fused in sarcoma/translocated in liposarcoma) is a ubiquitously expressed RNA-binding protein, that has been discovered as fused to transcription factors in several human sarcomas and found in protein aggregates in neurons of patients with an inherited form of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis [1]. To date, FUS has been implicated in a variety of cellular processes such as gene expression control, transcriptional regulation, pre-mRNA splicing and miRNA processing [2]. In addition, some evidences link FUS to genome stability control and DNA damage response. In fact, mice lacking FUS are hypersensitive to ionizing radiation and show high levels of chromosome instability and in response to double-strand breaks, FUS gets phosphorylated by the protein kinase ATM [3, 4, 5]. Moreover, upon DNA damage stress, FUS mediates Ebp1 (ErbB3 receptor-binding protein) SUMOylation, a post-translational modification that is required for its onco-suppressive activity, by acting as SUMO E3 ligase [6]. The study aims to investigate the role of FUS in DNA damage response and SUMOylation, two cellular pathways tightly interconnected to each other. Moreover, we will exploit biochemical and mass spectrometry-based approaches in order to identify other potential substrates of the E3 SUMO ligase activity of FUS. Preliminary results of mass spectrometric identification of FUS interacting proteins, in HEK293 and SHSY5Y cells, highlighted the interaction of FUS with several proteins involved in DNA damage response and many of those have been described already as target of SUMOylation, such as XRCC5, DDX5, PARP1, Nucleophosmin, and others. These evidences strengthen the hypothesis that FUS might represent a link between these pathways, even thou its exact role still needs to be clearly addressed. [1] Vance C. et al. The increasing interest in autonomous coordinated driving and in proactive safety services, exploiting the wealth of sensing and computing resources which are gradually permeating the urban and vehicular environments, is making provisioning of high levels of QoS in vehicular networks an urgent issue. At the same time, the spreading model of a smart car, with a wealth of infotainment applications, calls for architectures for vehicular communications capable of supporting traffic with a diverse set of performance requirements. So far efforts focused on enabling a single specific QoS level. But the issues of how to support traffic with tight QoS requirements (no packet loss, and delays inferior to 1ms), and of designing a system capable at the same time of efficiently sustaining such traffic together with traffic from infotainment applications, are still open. In this paper we present the approach taken by the CONTACT project to tackle these issues. The goal of the project is to investigate how a VANET architecture, which integrates content-centric networking, software-defined networking, and context aware floating content schemes, can properly support the very diverse set of applications and services currently envisioned for the vehicular environment.

Welchen berulichen Status haben junge Erwachsene in der Schweiz zehn Jahre nach Beendigung der obligatorischen Schule im Alter von durchschnittlich 26 Jahren erreicht – und welche Faktoren beeinlussen ihn? Wie nehmen junge Erwachsene ihren Status im Vergleich zum elterlichen wahr und wie, denken sie, wird er sich in Zukunt noch verändern? Diese Forschungsfragen werden auf der Basis der TREE-Daten (Transitionen von der Erstausbildung ins Erwerbsleben) analysiert. Die Ergebnisse dieses Beitrags zeigen, dass viele 26-Jährige den elterlichen Status bereits erreicht haben, in Zukunt aber noch mit einem weiteren Statusanstieg rechnen. Askriptive Merkmale wie Geschlecht, soziale Herkunt und Migrationshintergrund sowie der auf Sekundarstufe I besuchte Schultyp haben unter sonst vergleichbaren Bedingungen über den ganzen Bildungsverlauf hinweg einen bedeutsamen Einluss auf den berulichen Status. Dies deutet einerseits auf eine vergleichsweise hohe Status-“Vererblichkeit“ zwischen den Generationen hin, andererseits auf erhebliche Verletzungen des meritokratischen Prinzips, wonach für den Bildungserfolg und die erreichte Position in der Gesellschat vor allem die individuelle Leistung massgeblich sein sollte.
