We present the case of a 60 year old male patient with incidentally detected visual abnormalities. Detailed personal history revealed a hypogonadism that had been present for several years. Further investigations established the diagnosis of an infiltrative macroadenoma. Medical treatment with cabergoline led to a rapid regression of ophthalmologic symptoms and, subsequently, of tumor size. In male subjects symptoms of hypogonadism are often reported only late in the course of the disease, thereby leading to a generally larger tumor size at the point of diagnosis. In contrast to other pituitary tumors that are mainly treated by surgery, medical treatment with dopamine agonists is the principal therapeutic option in prolactinomas.

We present the case of a young woman that was diagnosed with Churg-Strauss syndrome. The classical as well as the atypical symptoms, signs and findings are discussed in the context of clinically relevant differential diagnoses. The diagnostic criteria and the relevant aspects of pathogenesis, clinical course and treatment are reviewed. In addition, the similarities and differences with respect to the other idiopathic interstitial eosinophilic pneumopathies are described.

In Europe antithyroid drug (ATD) therapy is the preferred initial treatment for patients with a first episode of Graves' disease. Results of long-term recurrence rates following ATD therapy are conflicting. The main goal was to assess long-term recurrence rate after ATD treatment. Secondarily we tried to verify chemical and clinical findings (thyrotropin receptor antibodies (TRAb), duration of primary treatment, age and goitre size) as predictive factors.
