La crisi del “teatro come servizio pubblico” degli Stabili, Piccolo Teatro in testa, si manifesta allo stadio di insoddisfazione interna già alla fine degli anni Cinquanta. Se dal punto di vista della pratica scenica, la prima faglia di rottura è pressoché unanimemente ricondotta alla comparsa delle primissime messe in scena –discusse, irritanti e provocatorie- di Carmelo Bene e Quartucci (1959-60) più difficile è individuare il corrispettivo di un critico-intellettuale apportatore di una altrettanto deflagrante rottura. I nomi di Arbasino e di Flaiano sono, in questo caso, i primi che vengono alla mente, ma, seppure portatori di una critica sensibile al “teatro ufficiale”, così come viene ribattezzato dopo il Convegno di Ivrea (1967) il modello attuato dagli Stabili, essi non possono, a ben vedere, essere considerati i veri promotori di una modalità differente di fare critica che, a partire da quel Convegno, si accompagnerà stabilmente alla ricerca scenica del Nuovo Teatro. Ma in cosa consiste, allora, questa nuova “operatività” critica? Si tratta principalmente di una modalità capace di operare alle soglie della scrittura, abbracciando una progressiva, ma costante fuoriuscita dalla redazione di cronache teatrali, per ripensare radicalmente la propria attività in nuovi spazi operativi quali le riviste e l’editoria di settore, un rapporto sempre più stretto con i mass-media quali radio e televisione e la pratica organizzativa di momenti spettacolari e teorici al contempo -festival, convegni, rassegne e premi- per una forma di partecipazione poi identificata come “sporcarsi le mani”. La seconda parte della tesi è una raccolta documentaria sull’oggi. A partire dal Manifesto dei Critici Impuri redatto nel 2003 a Prato da un gruppo di critici dell'ultima generazione, la tesi utilizza quella dichiarazione come punto di partenza per creare un piccolo archivio sull’oggi raccogliendo le elaborazioni di alcune delle esperienze più significative di questi dieci anni. During the last decade peach and nectarine fruit have lost considerable market share, due to increased consumer dissatisfaction with quality at retail markets. This is mainly due to harvesting of too immature fruit and high ripening heterogeneity. The main problem is that the traditional used maturity indexes are not able to objectively detect fruit maturity stage, neither the variability present in the field, leading to a difficult post-harvest management of the product and to high fruit losses. To assess more precisely the fruit ripening other techniques and devices can be used. Recently, a new non-destructive maturity index, based on the vis-NIR technology, the Index of Absorbance Difference (IAD), that correlates with fruit degreening and ethylene production, was introduced and the IAD was used to study peach and nectarine fruit ripening from the “field to the fork”. In order to choose the best techniques to improve fruit quality, a detailed description of the tree structure, of fruit distribution and ripening evolution on the tree was faced. More in details, an architectural model (PlantToon®) was used to design the tree structure and the IAD was applied to characterize the maturity stage of each fruit. Their combined use provided an objective and precise evaluation of the fruit ripening variability, related to different training systems, crop load, fruit exposure and internal temperature. Based on simple field assessment of fruit maturity (as IAD) and growth, a model for an early prediction of harvest date and yield, was developed and validated. The relationship between the non-destructive maturity IAD, and the fruit shelf-life, was also confirmed. Finally the obtained results were validated by consumer test: the fruit sorted in different maturity classes obtained a different consumer acceptance. The improved knowledge, leaded to an innovative management of peach and nectarine fruit, from “field to market”.

Investigating parents’ formal engagement opportunities in public schools serves well to characterize the relationship between states and societies. While the relationship between parental involvement and students’ academic success has been thoroughly investigated, rarely has it been seen to indicate countries’ governing regimes. The researcher was curious to see whether and how does parents’ voice differ in different democracies. The hypothesis was that in mature regimes, institutional opportunities for formal parental engagement are plenty and parents are actively involved; while in young democracies there are less opportunities and the engagement is lower. The assumption was also that parental deliberation in expressing their dissatisfaction with schools differs across democracies: where it is more intense, there it translates to higher engagement. Parents’ informedness on relevant regulations and agendas was assumed to be equally average, and their demographic background to have similar effects on engagement. The comparative, most different systems design was employed where public middle schools last graders’ parents in Tartu, Estonia and in Huntsville, Alabama the United States served as a sample. The multidimensional study includes the theoretical review, country and community analyses, institutional analysis in terms of formal parental involvement, and parents’ survey. The findings revealed sizeable differences between parents’ engagement levels in Huntsville and Tartu. The results indicate passivity in both communities, while in Tartu the engagement seems to be alarmingly low. Furthermore, Tartu parents have much less institutional opportunities to engage. In the United States, multilevel efforts to engage parents are visible from local to federal level, in Estonia similar intentions seem to be missing and meaningful parental organizations do not exist. In terms of civic education there is much room for development in both countries. The road will be longer for a young democracy Estonia in transforming its institutional systems from formally democratic to inherently inclusive.

This research based on 3 indipendent studies, sought to explore the nature of the relationship between overweight/obesity, eating behaviors and psychological distress; the construct of Mindful eating trough the validation of the Italian adaptation of the Mindful Eating Questionnaire (MEQ); the role of mindfulnessand mindful eating as respectively potential mediator and moderator between overeating behavior (binge eating and emotional overeating) and negative outcomes (psychological distress, body dissatisfaction). All the samples were divided in normal weight, overweight and obese according to BMI categories. STUDY1: In a sample of 691 subjects (69.6% female, mean aged 39.26 years) was found that BMI was not associated with psychological distress, whereas binge eating increases the psychopathological level. BMI and male gender represent negative predictors of psychological distress, but certain types of overeating (i.e., NES/grazing, overeating during or out of meals, and guilt/restraint) result as positive predictors.. STUDY 2 : A sample of 1067 subjects (61.4% female, mean aged 34 years) was analized. The Italian MEQ resulted in a 26-item 4-factor model measuring Disinhibition, Awareness, Distraction, and Emotional response. Internal consistency and test-retest reliability were acceptable MEQ correlated positively with mindfulness (FMI) and it was associated with sociodemographic variables, BMI, meditation. type of exercise and diet. STUDY 3, based on a sample of 502 subjects (68.8% female, mean aged 39.42 years) showed that MEQ and FMI negatively correlated with BES, EOQ, SCL-90-R, and BIAQ. Obese people showed lower level of mindful eating and higher levels of binge eating, emotional overeating, and body dissatisfaction, compared to the other groups Mindfulness resulted to partially mediates the relationship between a) binge eating and psychological distress, b) emotional overeating and psychological distress, c) binge eating and mental well-being, d) emotional overeating and menal well-being. Mindful eating was a moderator only in the relationship between emotional overeating and body dissatisfaction.

Marketers continuously attempt to identify important attributes and innovate in order to understand how attribute performance could lead to customer satisfaction in the short term and in the long term. Understanding the impact of customer satisfaction may offer a competitive edge to companies. Researchers are discussing the importance of performance attributes in leading to satisfaction; however, there is no clear understanding of whether an attribute that leads to satisfaction at one time (e.g., short run) can cause it also in the long run, without excluding the possibility that it could lead to dissatisfaction and no satisfaction. The present research tries to understand anomalies related to asymmetric attribute performance and satisfaction over time with the help of Herzberg's (1967) Two-Factor Theory (TFT) and construal level theory (CLT). More precisely, there are main purposes of this dissertation. First, the present research tries to understand whether positive or negative hygiene attribute performance and motivator attribute factors exert different weights on overall customer satisfaction depending on the time elapsed from the service experience. Second, to test if positive or negative hygiene/motivator attribute performance affect to revisit intention and to word of mouth by considering mediating role of satisfaction. The results reveal that in the near past (NP) experience, the positive performance of hygiene concrete attributes creates a differential effect on overall satisfaction higher than the negative performance of hygiene concrete attributes. Results also confirmed mediating role of satisfaction in the relationship between attribute performance and revisit intention for near past condition but not for distant past. Likewise significant relationship was found for the mediating role of satisfaction in the relationship between attribute performance and word of mouth (WOM) for near past condition but not for distant past.
