Efecto del color del sustrato en el comportamiento de fijación del caballito de mar de hocico corto (Hippocampus hippocampus)

El caballito de mar (Hippocampus hippocampus) presenta una fase planctónica durante los primeros días de su vida. Cuando cambia a la fase bentónica ha de fijarse en un sustrato adecuado con su cola prensil. Este estudio, realizando recuentos diarios de la distribución de los caballitos en el acuario, ha obtenido como resultado que no existe una preferencia entre el color rojo y azul del sustrato a la hora de la fijación, no obstante, se observó una adaptación progresiva de los peces al sustrato artificial.The seahorse (Hippocampus hippocampus) presents a planktonic phase during the first days of life. During settlement, it fixes to a suitable substratum using its prehensile tail. This study, through a daily counts of the seahorse distribution in the aquarium, established that juveniles seahorse do not show a preference between the red or blue fixation substrates. However, it was observed a progressive adaptation of the fish to the artificial handmade substratum.

Adaptive finite element simulation of stack pollutant emissions over complex terrains

[EN]A three-dimensional finite element model for the pollutant dispersion is presented. In these environmental processes over a complex terrain, a mesh generator capable of adapting itself to the topographic characteristics is essential. The first stage of the model consists on the construction of an adaptive tetrahedral mesh of a rectangular region bounded in its lower part by the terrain and in its upper part by a horizontal plane. Once the mesh is constructed, an adaptive local refinement of tetrahedra is used in order to capture the plume rise. Wind measurements are used to compute an interpolated wind field, that is modified by using a mass-consistent model and perturbing its vertical component to introduce the plume rise effect...

Estudio de estructuras microtira irregulares mediante el MoM

[EN]This article presents the analysis of planar mi- crostrip structures using the electric-field integral equation. The structures are divided into irregular rectangular subdomains. Besides its describes the delta-gap voltage excitation mode to resolve the equations systems with the method of the moments.
