Educação científica e atividade grupal na perspectiva sócio-histórica

Este trabalho apresenta questões relativas à educação científica e à atividade grupal ou coletiva, na perspectiva da abordagem sócio-histórica do desenvolvimento humano e do ensino científico presente nas obras dos russos L.S. Vigotski e A.N. Leontiev. Fundamentalmente, buscaremos estabelecer essa relação a partir da proposta de Zona de Desenvolvimento Próximo realizada por Vigotski, em que o autor enfatiza o papel da imitação e da cooperação no alcance de novos níveis de desenvolvimento, processo subsidiado pela instrução, tendo como mediação o educador.

Softwares educativos para alunos com deficiência intelectual: Estratégias utilizadas

The computer is present in everyday school life and using it with educational software must be mediated and planned in order for this resource to contribute to student learning, including those with intellectual disabilities (ID). Therefore, the aim was to propose specific computer activities for students with ID using educational software, and to quantify and analyze the technical and pedagogical strategies used. The participants were six students with ID enrolled in two public schools. To collect information we used observation protocols and a field journal. Data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively, based on the concepts of mediation and the zone of proximal development of cultural-historical theory. The results indicated that when the content developed in the computer classes were compatible with the proposed activities in the classroom, students with ID had opportunities to experience different activities that enable them to be successful. We noted that what enabled them to understand and correctly perform the proposed activities were the teaching strategies. Thus, we consider that technical knowledge about educational software and pedagogical knowledge about content that is being worked on, are insufficient to ensure that the proposed activity will contribute to the development of students with ID.

O ensino de Física e os museus de ciência

Based on the ideas of Gaspar and Marandino, discuss the teaching of physics through Museums and Science Centers, drawing on ideas such as: Scientific Literacy, Informal Education and Zone of Proximal Development. We visited and analyzed the museums: Museum of Energy Rio Claro - Mill Park Corumbataí, Catavento Culture and Education - Social Organization of Culture, Centre for Scientific and Cultural (CDCC) and Studies Center of the Universe - CEU. Point out elements of these museums that benefit the formal teaching of physics in schools, as well as positive elements of schooling that maximize the experience of museum visits

The limits of human development and the use of energy and natural resources

The development of nations is an unquestionable requirement. A lot of challenges concerning health, education and economy are present. A discussion on these development models has occupied the minds of decision makers in recent years. When energy supply and demand is considered, the situation becomes critical and the crucial question is: how to improve the quality of life of developing countries based on available models of development that are related to the life style of developed countries, for which the necessary use and waste of energy are present? How much energy is essential to humanity for not so as to endangering the survival conditions of future generations? the human development index (HDI) establishes the relationship among energy use, economic growth and social growth. Here it can be seen that 75% of the world population has a significant energy consumption potential. This is a strong reason to consider that the sustainable development concepts on energy policies are strategic to the future of the planet. This paper deals with the importance of seeking alternative development models for human development balance, natural resources conservation and environment through rational energy use concepts. Follow-up of the Development of Femoral Degeneration Lesions in Broilers

A study was carried out in the experimental facilities of FMVZ/UNESP-Botucatu, with the aim of following-up the development and the incidence of femoral degeneration (FD). A total of 305 one-day-old male broilers were housed in six pens of 5m(2) each. Histological analyses of femur head collected when broilers were 0, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, and 42 days of age were carried out. At 42 days of age, 30 birds were taken to the experimental processing plant of FMVZ for leg gross examination. Ten legs per FD score where selected, and histologically analyzed to determine the most probable age at the beginning of the lesions, and to standardize femoral degeneration lesion scores. The histological results showed that cell architecture started to disorganize at 21 days of age in the resting and proliferation zones, and that angiogenesis increased, invading the joint cartilage, The gross lesion indexes due to femoral degeneration were 22.5%, 42.5%, and 65% at 28, 35, and 42 days of age, respectively.
