Synthesis of slightly < 111 >-oriented 0.65Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O-3-0.35PbTiO(3) ceramic prepared from fine powders

Slightly < 111 >-oriented 0.65Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)03-0.35PbTiO(3) ceramic was prepared using fine powders obtained by means of an alternative and promising chemical oxide precursor method. High quality samples with improved structural, microstructural, dielectric and ferroelectric properties were obtained. The dielectric constant value (epsilon similar to 2577) measured at 1 kHz is compared to unpoled < 112 > grain-oriented ceramics while the remanent polarization (P-r similar to 19-1 mu cm(-2)) is compared with random grain-oriented ceramics. These results point out the viability to produce ferroelectric PMN-PT ceramics of very good quality using powder precursors prepared from this chemical method. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V. Structural characterization of 0.5PbMg(1/3)Nb(2/3)O(3)-0.5Ba(x)Pb((1-x))TiO(3) powders

The present work reports the effects caused by barium on phase formation, morphology and sintering of lead magnesium niobate-lead titanate (PMN-50PT). Ab initio study of 0.5PbMg(1/3)Nb(2/3)O(3)-0.5Ba(x)Pb((1-x))TiO(3) ceramic powders, with x = 0, 0.20, and 0.40 was proposed, considering that the partial substitution of lead by barium can reestablish the equilibrium of monoclinic-tetragonal phases in the system. It was verified that even for 40 mol% of barium, it was possible to obtain pyrochlore-free PMN-PT powders. The increase of the lattice parameters of PMN-PT doped-powders confirmed dopant incorporation into the perovskite phase. The presence of barium improved the reactivity of the powders, with an average particle size of 120 nm for 40 mol% of barium against 167 mn for the pure sample. Although high barium content (40 mol%) was deleterious for a dense ceramic, contents up to 20 mol% allowed 95% density when sintered at 1100 degrees C for 4 h. (c) 2007 Elsevier Ltd. 6-methoxyquercetin-3-0-(6-E-feruloyl)-beta-D-glucopyranoside from Paepalanthus polyanthus (Eriocaulaceae)

The new 6-methoxyquercetin-3-O-(6-E-feruloyl)-beta-D-glucopyranoside (1) was isolated from the aerial parts of Paepalanthus polyanthus and characterized by spectroscopic methods, mainly 1D and 2D NMR experiments, as well as electrospray mass spectrometry. In addition four known flavonoids of taxonomic relevance were isolated and identified by comparison to literature data. (C) 2002 Elsevier B.V. Ltd. All rights reserved.

GDP 4.0 transfer to SGP 3.0 for SCIAMACHY no2 column processing: Verification with SDOAS / GDOAS prototype algorithms and delta-validation with NDACC / UV-visible network data

Until mid 2006, SCIAMACHY data processors for the operational retrieval of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) column data were based on the historical version 2 of the GOME Data Processor (GDP). On top of known problems inherent to GDP 2, ground-based validations of SCIAMACHY NO2 data revealed issues specific to SCIAMACHY, like a large cloud-dependent offset occurring at Northern latitudes. In 2006, the GDOAS prototype algorithm of the improved GDP version 4 was transferred to the off-line SCIAMACHY Ground Processor (SGP) version 3.0. In parallel, the calibration of SCIAMACHY radiometric data was upgraded. Before operational switch-on of SGP 3.0 and public release of upgraded SCIAMACHY NO2 data, we have investigated the accuracy of the algorithm transfer: (a) by checking the consistency of SGP 3.0 with prototype algorithms; and (b) by comparing SGP 3.0 NO2 data with ground-based observations reported by the WMO/GAW NDACC network of UV-visible DOAS/SAOZ spectrometers. This delta-validation study concludes that SGP 3.0 is a significant improvement with respect to the previous processor IPF 5.04. For three particular SCIAMACHY states, the study reveals unexplained features in the slant columns and air mass factors, although the quantitative impact on SGP 3.0 vertical columns is not significant.

A presente invenção proporciona derivados piperidínicos, em especial a derivados 3-O-acetil-piperidinil-N-benzil-subsitutídos de fórmula geral (I) e/ou (II). Em especial, tais compostos apresentam atividade inibidora de acetilcolinesterase no sistema nervoso central em ensaios farmacológicos, podendo ser úteis no tratamento de doenças como a Doença de Alzheimer. Também são revelados: um processo para a preparação destes compostos.

Effects of fluazuron (2.5 mg/kg) and a combination of fluazuron (3.0 mg/kg) + abamectin (0.5 mg/kg) on the reproductive parameters of a field population of Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus on experimentally infested cattle

The current study assessed the deleterious effects of two formulations of fluazuron (2.5 mg/kg fluazuron and a combination of 3.0 mg/kg fluazuron + 0.5 mg/kg abamectin) on the reproductive parameters of engorged Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) micro plus females that naturally detached from experimentally infested cattle in two experiments. Based on the obtained results, it can be concluded that fluazuron (2.5 mg/ kg) showed deleterious effects only on the hatchability percentage in the period of 2-7 post-treatment days of this ectoparasite's engorged females. On the other hand, the fluazuron (3.0 mg/kg) + abamectin (0.5 mg/kg) combination presented harmful effects over reproductive parameters of this tick species. Further studies should be performed with a known tick population (reference susceptible strain) to determine the effect of these formulations on the reproductive parameters and to elucidate if this field population is fluazuron resistant. Para isso, será feito um estudo de caso do think tank Olga e seus desdobramentos em blog, redes sociais e campanhas contra o assédio sexual batizadas de Chega de Fiu Fiu. Para analisar esse material, o pensamento pós-estruturalista foi o escolhido, junto ao saber situado, por suas afinidades com a perspectiva feminista
