Análise do mercado do abacaxi comercializado na CEAGESP - São Paulo

A disponibilidade de informações relativas à oferta, preços e sazonalidade do abacaxi é um fator de interesse tanto para produtores quanto para atacadistas, pois podem contribuir para melhor planejamento da época de colheita e comercialização. Dessa maneira, o presente trabalho buscou conhecer a sazonalidade do preço e da quantidade do abacaxi comercializado na CEAGESP - SP, no período de setembro de 2005 a março de 2006. Foram obtidos através de entrevistas aos atacadistas, dados referentes à origem de cada cultivar em estudo, o preço pago ao produtor, o preço de venda praticado pelos atacadistas e a quantidade de frutos recebida no dia. Com o objetivo de compreender o processo de comercialização das cultivares de abacaxi 'Smooth Cayenne' e 'Pérola', foram aplicados questionários aos vendedores de três empresas atacadistas. Através das informações obtidas, sugere-se aos produtores de abacaxi 'Smooth Cayenne' o escalonamento da produção no período de novembro a fevereiro, preferencialmente de maneira associativista. Os três atacadistas de abacaxi entrevistados vislumbram uma estabilidade na quantidade comercializada de abacaxi na CEAGESP, com previsão de crescimento para a cultivar 'Pérola' e redução para a cultivar 'Smooth Cayenne'. No período de 12 de setembro de 2005 a 20 de março de 2006, observou-se uma estabilidade de preços pagos ao produtor para ambas as cultivares, com elevação de preços entre os dias 23 de janeiro a 06 de março de 2006 para a cultivar 'Pérola' e entre os dias 06 de fevereiro a 06 de março de 2006 para a cultivar 'Smooth Cayenne'. Os atacadistas consideram a cultivar 'Smooth Cayenne' mais valorizada nos meses de novembro a janeiro e a cultivar 'Pérola' de março a junho e de novembro a dezembro. Pelo cenário de estabilização do mercado de abacaxi, torna-se fundamental a garantia de sabor monitorada pelas associações de produtores em parceria com o Centro de Qualidade em Horticultura (CQH - CEAGESP) e atacadistas, com destaque para a cultivar 'Smooth Cayenne'.

Variação genética para caracteres anatômicos e retração volumétrica e sua correlação com a densidade básica da madeira em uma população base de Eucalyptus camaldulensis Dehn

Eucalyptus camaldulensis has great importance in Brazil because of their phenotypic plasticity for different environmental conditions, as soils, altitudes and rainfall. This study is an investigation of a base population of E. camaldulensis from Australia through a progeny test implanted in Selvíria, MS. The trial was established in a randomized block design, with 25 families and 60 replications of single tree plots. Genetic parameters for anatomic traits and volume shrinkage were estimated, as well as their correlations with wood basic density. No significant differences among progenies were observed for the traits studied. The additive genetic variation coefficient at individual and among progeny levels ranged from low (0.26%) to high (16.98%). The narrow sense heritability at individual and family means levels also ranged from low (0.01) to high (0.87). This indicates that some traits are under strong genetic control and can be improved by selection. In the present situation, in order to attain the highest genetic gains, the sequential selection among and within progeny would be recommended.

Power electronics courses for the new paradigms of the electrical system

This paper presents a historical perspective of the Power Electronics education that has lead to the present situation in which such technology is indispensable for the exploitation of almost all type of clean energy primary sources. Some academic initiatives in Brazil are here discussed focusing the institutions grouped in a CAPES-Pró-Engenharia program. The curricula aspects and innovations are presented, emphasizing the multidisciplinary character of this field of Power Electronics application. © 2011 IEEE.

Eficiência Energética e sustentabilidade em edificações: um estudo de caso na biblioteca da UNESP de Guaratinguetá

Energy efficiency has gained significant importance in recent years, mainly due to cyclical climatic conditions and current supply of natural resources. The present work deals with the procedures and requirements necessary to evaluate a building to a level of efficiency corresponding to your project and the actual implemented. To perform this analysis, we adopted the technical regulation efficiency prepared by Procel along with other agencies of the sector. The Regulation aims to create a model for the technical evaluation of the efficiency of buildings, popularize and expand the theme specification of conditions drawn up today. The building analyzed in this study was the library of UNESP, Guaratinguetá. Still, after the completion of the final efficiency analysis, are presented proposals for intervention that can improve and enhance the present situation of the building. The interventions are based on many technical factors and local conditions of climate and supply of resource. The issue of sustainability was explained in order to serve as a tool to expand the options available to upgrade a building in front of their impact on the environment

Estado da arte do sequenciamento genômico na pecuária

There has been a lot of advance in genomics since 1975 when the possibility to determine the nucleotide sequence of a genome was described. In the 90’s the human genome sequencing was started and it was greatly favored by advances in computer technologies. In the last ten years the development of next generation sequencing technologies allowed the sequencing of millions of bases at low cost and in a shorter time compared to the previous technologies. After the conclusion of the human genome project, several initiatives to sequence the genome of domestic animal species were taken, resulting in a large amount of data that is redirecting the goals of genetic studies in domestic animals. The aim of this review was to describe the present situation of the sequencing initiatives on the main domestic animal species of economical interest as well as to list the most important tools available to access the genomic information.
