A Beam Search Method to Solve the Problem of Assignment Cells to Switches in a Cellular Mobile Network

Assigning cells to switches in a cellular mobile network is known as an NP-hard optimization problem. This means that the alternative for the solution of this type of problem is the use of heuristic methods, because they allow the discovery of a good solution in a very satisfactory computational time. This paper proposes a Beam Search method to solve the problem of assignment cell in cellular mobile networks. Some modifications in this algorithm are also presented, which allows its parallel application. Computational results obtained from several tests confirm the effectiveness of this approach and provide good solutions for large scale problems.

Pole placement method using the system matrix transfer function and sparsity

This paper presents a pole placement method using both the augmented Jacobian and the corresponding system transfer function matrices. From the manipulation of these matrices a straightforward approach results to get the coefficients of a non-linear system, whose solution gives the parameters of the stabilizers that can provide a pre-specified minimum damping to the system. Pole placement by coordinated tuning of Power System Stabilizers and FACTS-POD stabilizers

This work presents the application of the Decentralized Modal Control method for pole placement in multimachine power systems utilizing FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems), STATCOM (Static Synchronous Compensator) and UPFC (Unified Power Flow Controller) devices. For this, these devices are equipped with supplementary damping controllers, denominated POD ( Power Oscillation Damping), achieving a coordinated project with local controllers (Power System Stabilizers - PSS). Comparative analysis on the function of damping of the FACTS, STATCOM and UPFC is performed using the New England System that has 10 generators, 39 buses and 46 transmission lines. Assignment of chromosome rearrangements between X chromosomes of human and cattle by laser microdissection and Zoo-FISH

Cross-species fluorescence in-situ hybridization (Zoo-FISH) was performed on cattle metaphase spreads using Homo sapiens X chromosome (HSAX) painting probes specific for the p- and q-arms to identify the cytogenetic location of a chromosome breakpoint between HSAX and the Bos taurus X chromosome (BTAX). The existence of a breakpoint is strongly suggested by recent radiation hybrid and FISH mapping results. Hybridization probes were generated by microdissection of HSAX p- and q-arms using the contact-free technology of Laser Microdissection and Pressure Catapulting (LMPC), amplification of the isolated chromosome material by DOP-PCR, and labelling of the PCR products with digoxigenin in a secondary PCR. Independent Zoo-FISH of the two painting probes on bovine metaphase chromosomes (detected by antidigoxigenin-fluorescein) resulted in clear hybridization signals on BTAX. A breakpoint was identified between HSAXp and HSAXq on BTAX, and narrowed down between the G-bands BTAXq25 and BTAXq26. The assumed centromere transposition between HSAX and BTAX associated with the rearranged chromosome segments is supported by cytogenetic assignments of the genes BGN and G6PD to BTAX.

Concerning the Landau pole in 3-3-1 models

Some 3 - 3 - 1 models predict the existence of a non-perturbative regime at the TeV scale. We study in these models and their supersymmetric extensions, the energy at which the non-perturbative limit and a Landau-like pole arise. An order of magnitude for the mass of the extra neutral vector boson, Z', present in these models is also obtained.

Resolution and Absolute Configuration Assignment of a Natural Racemic Chromane from Peperomia obtusifolia (Piperaceae)

The resolution of the natural racemic chromane 3,4-dihydro-5-hydroxy-2,7-dimethyl-8-(3 ''-methyl-2 ''-butenyl)-2-(4'-methyl-1',3'-pentadienyl)-2H-1-benzopyran-6-carboxylic acid (1) isolated from the leaves of Peperomia obtusifolia has been accomplished using stereoselective HPLC. The absolute coil figuration of the resolved enantiomers was determined by the analysis of optical rotations and CD spectra. The finding of a racemic mixture instead of an enantiomerically pure metabolite raises questions about the final steps in the biosynthesis of this class of natural products, suggesting that the intramolecular chromane ring formation step may not be enzymatically controlled at all in P. obtusifolia. EVALUATING ONE-LOOP LIGHT-CONE INTEGRALS BY COVARIANTIZING THE GAUGE-DEPENDENT POLE

Making sure that causality be preserved by means of ''covariantizing'' the gauge-dependent singularity in the propagator of the vector potential A(mu)(x), we show that the evaluation of some basic one-loop light-cone integrals reproduce those results obtained through the Mandelstam-Leibbrandt prescription. Moreover, such a covariantization has the advantage of leading to simpler integrals to be performed in the cone variables (the bonus), although, of course, it introduces an additional alpha-parameter integral to be performed (the price to pay).

OPTICALLY PUMPED (CD3OH)-C-13 - FAR-INFRARED LASER LINES AND ASSIGNMENT

Fourier transform and IR optoacoustic absorption data of (CD3OH)-C-13 were used to search for new FIR laser lines. We have used a waveguide CO2 laser of 300 MHz tunability as the optical pumping source. We report the observation and characterization of 13 new lines. Three of these lines are associated with absorbing transitions appertaining to the weak (CD3)-C-13 asymmetric bending mode.

Assignment and frequency measurement of rotational transitions of (CD3OH)-C-13 by intracavity laser Stark spectroscopy

We present the results of an intracavity Stark spectroscopy experiment on the fundamental state of (CD3OH)-C-13. We use an optically pumped hybrid waveguide FIR laser, CH2F2 as active molecule, and (CD3OH)-C-13 as absorbent molecule. No Brewster window is needed to separate the lasing gas from the absorbing deuterated methanol. An absorption line is assigned as E(l) symmetry (n, K, J): (1,4,18) --> (1,5,18) and its frequency is measured as 63.08631 cm(-1) with a precision of a few parts in 10(7); two more absorptions are reported and a tentative assignment for one of them.

UNITARY POLE APPROXIMATION FOR THE COULOMB-PLUS-YAMAGUCHI POTENTIAL AND APPLICATION TO A 3-BODY BOUND-STATE CALCULATION

The unitary pole approximation is used to construct a separable representation for a potential U which consists of a Coulomb repulsion plus an attractive potential of the Yamaguchi type. The exact bound-state wave function is employed. U is chosen as the potential which binds the proton in the 1d5/2 single-particle orbit in F-17. Using the separable representation derived for U, and assuming a separable Yamaguchi potential to describe the 1d5/2 neutron in O-17, the energies and wave functions of the ground state (1+) and the lowest 0+ state of F-18 are calculated in the Gore-plus-two-nucleons model solving the Faddeev equations.
