Vidas errantes e alcoolismo: uma questão social

O fenômeno da errância, impulsionado por motivos sócio-econômicos ou mesmo por razões pessoais, traz consigo profundas transformações no plano psicossocial. A presente pesquisa se propôs a investigar as razões que levam os trecheiros à ruptura com a vida sedentária e o papel que o alcoolismo exerce nesse processo de deserção. Foram entrevistados doze sujeitos que fazem uso de bebidas alcoólicas, albergados numa Instituição Assistencial da cidade de Assis, SP, sendo as entrevistas submetidas, posteriormente, a uma análise de conteúdo. Os resultados mostraram que a morte dos pais, os conflitos familiares e o desemprego têm sido um dos principais motivos para a ruptura com o sedentarismo. O uso do álcool, no trecho, é atribuído pelos próprios sujeitos à necessidade de esquecer problema, maior encorajamento e apaziguar conflitos remanescentes, em geral, conflitos afetivos que possuem como epicentro a infidelidade conjugal.

Vidas presas: uma tentativa de compreensão da tragédia da criminalidade junto às suas personagens prisioneiras

Cet article présente une recherche sur les facteurs producteurs de la criminalité réalisée au début de la décennie 80 qui, en s'appuyant sur longs entretiens réalisées avec des prisonnières, a élaboré un ensemble d'hypothèses afin de comprendre les relations constitutives que ce phénomène maintient avec la pauvreté, avec la violence policière/pénitentiaire et avec les propres savoirs par lesquels ses actes et ses auteurs deviennent objet de connaissance. Sa présentation, aujourd'hui, vise deux objectifs: le premier, en hommage et reconnaissance à Sylvia Leser de Mello, est celui d'offrir un simple exemple, parmi tant d'autres, d'une des nombreuses aventures de recherche rendue possible par son orientation. Le second est celui de partager avec des chercheurs qui s'intéressent au même thème une étude qui, polémique et innovatrice à l'époque de sa réalisation, conserve sa pertinence face, actuellement, aux caractéristiques particulièrement graves présentées par les questions abordées.

Artemidia independente: Vidas Imperfeitas, o quadrinho em um diálogo entre linguagem e suporte

The term “independent media art” expresses an artistic-scientific process performed in the Art- Science Communication interface presented as Final Paper in Visual Arts baccalaureate modality. The first part consists in gather, in artisticscientific research, an overview of the production of independent comics, mainly in Brazil, as well as some of the manifestations that were derived from it. The identification is made from bibliographical and iconographical survey, both printed and virtual materials. The second part discusses the production of a comic of my own - Imperfect Lives - published independently. This work is inserted in the line of research “Artistic Processes and Procedures” of the Department of Fine Arts of the Art Institute of UNESP and describes: Creative process, production, dissemination and influences. The third and final section brings together the work done by me during the four-year course, whose theme has some relation with comics. Experiments are in various media, using one or another characteristic intrinsic to them. The monography includes as an appendix a copy of each issue of the fanzine Imperfect Lives. The methodology used was Freinetiana Educational Cybernetics, developed in the research group “Art media and Videoclip”, whose leading advisor is the one from this Final Paper. The result and discussion of the artistic research and scientific monography were reported in the following versions: PDF File repository for dissemination in the virtual library of the Institute of Arts. Avaliação de Desempenho de Aplicações Paralelas Utilizando MPI e PETSc

This work presents a study about the use of standards and directions on parallel programming in distributed systems, using the MPI standard and PETSc toolkit, performing an analysis of their performances over certain mathematic operations involving matrices. The concepts are used to develop applications to solve problems involving Principal Components Analysis (PCA), which are executed in a Beowulf cluster. The results are compared to the ones of an analogous application with sequencial execution, and then it is analized if there was any performance boost on the parallel application

Cirurgias seguras salvam vidas: aplicação e avaliação do checklist sugerido pela OMS em cirurgias infantis de um hospital escola

The World Health Organization (WHO) has created a program “Safe Surgery Saves Lives”, focusing on reduce and minimize life threatening or cause serious risk to health for patients submitted to a surgery. This primary goal for this presented study is to apply the checklist from the WHO´s program for children´s surgery in a public university hospital, located in the countryside of São Paulo State, Brazil. Having the responses from professionals surgery´s team, there is an opportunity for evaluation of the features and easiest parts, which are filled in a quickly and in a easy way; focus, supporting and assistance; issues, such as lack of time for filling in, and viability of application of this protocol considering the improvement of the cross functions relationship, and quality of services, providing better assistance and support to the patient

Relaxação Lagrangiana Aplicada ao Problema de Dimensionamento de Lotes em Máquinas Paralelas: Limitantes Inferiores

This paper addresses the single stage lot-sizing problem in parallel machines. Each item can be produced on any machine, and incurs a setup time before to start the production. The objective of this paper is to obtain lower bounds of good quality for this problem. A solution method is developed based on a reformulation of the problem and the Lagrangian relaxation of a set of constraints. Some computational results are presented comparing the proposed method with a method from the literature and with a computational package.
