Nos gramados do Sul: A seleção baiana de futebol e o torneio do Centenário da Independência em 1922

This article aims to understand how the participation and performance of the state of Bahia at the I Campeonato Brasileiro de Seleções (I Brazilian Soccer Championship), also known as the Torneio do Centenário (Centenary Championship) in 1922 represented an opportunity for the state to claim a centrality in the formation of a national identity associated with soccer. The tournament was conceived as a draft for the formation of a national soccer team that would participate in the VI Campeonato Sul Americano (VI South American Championship) in Brazil. In addition, the event also came to be regarded as a celebration of the fi rst centenary of the Independence, a date that has encouraged the country to refl ect upon its national identity, as well as to reconsider its insertion in modernity. Bahia did well in the tournament, ensuring the second position. As a result, the local press went on to claim the participation of their athletes in the national team and to criticize the disregard of the states of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo towards the Northern region of the country. The local press would also challenge the policies of the Confederação Brasileira de Desportos (Brazilian Sports Confederation), the CBD, claiming that they favored the Southern states. Moreover, for the local elites the success of Bahia in the tournament represented the strength and greatness of the state, which gave them the right to claim a greater space and role in the destiny of the country. Finally, the performance of Bahia and its consequences have allowed us to question the limits and peculiarities of the formation of a national identity through the sport, at a moment when the country sought to rethink their identity historically marked by disputes and regional tensions.

Futebol brasileiro: uma análise comparativa das fórmulas de disputa do campeonato brasileiro da série A nos últimos 15 anos (1995-2010)

In Brazil, the football is more than just a sport, it's a passion and part of country's DNA almost a century ago. By this prerogative the club national championship, nowadays known as Brazilian Championship and organized by Brazilian Football Confederation, it is a mark in this modality. During the soccer history, were made several changes of nomenclature, rules and dispute mode, that generated many controversies, contributing for discussing about credibility of the championship. There were many changes about dispute mode, alternating the mixed mode (eliminatory + classificatory and vice versa) and a dispute mode based on classification. This research aimed to described and to analyzed the changes that have occurred in dispute types of the Brazilian Championship, series A, in the last 15 years (1995 to 2010). It was analyzed each edition, with data like average of public, matches and participants number, period that the championship was conducted, beyond the dispute mode. In the last 15 years, have been used five different types and it was observed that the current mode to consecutive points is the most appropriate, because this mode showed the best public average, greater coherence to elect the competition champion and this mode also encouraged the clubs about planning, organization and professional management. A brasilidade no jornalismo de Revista Nacional: uma análise do discurso das revistas Veja e Época na copa do mundo de futebol de 2014

O presente trabalho buscará verificar a noção (ou as noções) de brasilidade no jornalismo de revista nacional - e como essas noções contribuem para a construção (e a reafirmação) de determinados discursos acerca da cultura e da identidade brasileira. Analisaremos os discursos das revistas Veja e Época em textos (veiculados entre novembro de 2013 e novembro de 2014) a respeito da Copa do Mundo de Futebol de 2014. A pesquisa partirá de fundamentos da Análise do Discurso (AD) Francesa e de uma concepção intercultural de sociedade (que enxerga as relações sociais como processos de negociação de conflitos culturais entre os grupos sociais). Pretende-se mostrar de que forma os discursos das revistas repercutiram a noção de brasilidade -se de maneira homogeneizadora, ou se de maneira plural- nos textos a respeito da organização do país para o megaevento, bem como nas reportagens a respeito do desenvolvimento do torneio em si. Indicaremos a influência da ideologia na produção discursiva (textual e imagética) dessas revistas quando abordam aspectos da cultura e da identidade brasileira nos textos sobre o Mundial - especialmente, quando tratam de nossa alteridade, a partir de uma perspectiva hegeliana de inferioridade da cultura latina em relação à cultura europeia. Ademais, indicar-se-ão algumas noções de brasilidade construídas pelos principais nomes da historiografia nacional do século XX - noções, essas, que revivem no discurso jornalístico sobre o Brasil e os brasileiros

O rúgbi e seus valores educacionais na escola

Physical education in their school environment can contribute positively in the training of students as it is in this discipline that many students feel more motivated to discuss and reflect on conflicts related to school life or in society. In this study we treat the rugby exploring attitudes and values that are present in this sport, considered important for the development of the student, with the methodological approach the dimensions of the contents developed by Coll et al. (2000) and Zabala (1998). Thus, the aim of this study was to develop rugby content emphasizing the values linked to it with students of the 5th year of primary education in a public school in the city of Rio Claro / SP. Among the values are integrity, passion, solidarity, discipline and respect that will be developed through conceptual and procedural lessons about rugby and its educational values, also taking advantage of situations up to during classes for discussions. The survey was conducted for 3 months. The evaluation was by holding a tournament organized by the students and by the researcher to observe what they learned regarding the dimensions of rugby contents (conceptual, Procedural and Attitudinal) and an essay where students expressed the experiences. As a result we see the importance of working educational values in society and the implementation of educational sports at school as a motivational tool. With the contribution of this research, it is expected that rugby can be worked in schools as an educational sport for the training of the individual and the development of physical culture of the students

Entre a ficção e a objetividade: breve estudo sobre a crônica no jornalismo brasileiro durante a Copa do Mundo de Futebol de 2002

A Copa do Mundo de Futebol de 2002, disputada no Japão e na Coreia do Sul, representava um desafio inédito para a cobertura dos jornais brasileiros: oferecer um conteúdo atraente para o leitor diante dos prazos de edição e publicação, os quais antecediam em poucos momentos os horários das partidas do torneio. Uma das estratégias para combater a efemeridade do tempo da notícia foi a de recorrer à colaboração de escritores e cronistas. Convocados para comentar o evento, esses profissionais distanciaram-se da mera referência jornalística; assim, fatos e notícias reconstruídos passaram a adquirir contornos carregados de subjetividade e criação literária.

Esses cronistas de futebol e suas fábulas maravilhosas: a copa do mundo de 1998 na grande imprensa brasileira

This paper is focused on the reading of the texts of writers who collaborated with the leading newspapers of the Rio-São Paulo (represented here by the daily O Estado de S. Paulo, Folha de S. Paulo, O Globo and Jornal do Brasil) in coverage Football World Cup 1998, held in France. This tournament crystallized a growing trend from print to the Brazilian season: the convening of writers and chroniclers of notebooks from culture to comment on the matches of the World Cup. Here we analyze how these writers and their chronicles and columns permeated by the poetic and metalinguistic functions, enriched the sports pages with reports, stories or comments imagery, subjective and even fictional about football, a phenomenon that is countered, so the search for the referent and journalistic impartiality
