The principles and dimensions of sustainability concept is increasingly gaining ground within the building industry. Over the past decades, its applicability within the different environments and for different buildings typologies have been study to attend better the present populations and future generations. It is within this scenario that international certifications started to appear. The most famous and developed one being LEED certification system. In Brazil, as a support to the certification and also sustainability practices and conducts, was founded the Brazilian Council for Sustainable Construction (CBCS). The council and the certifications have the objective to disseminate and generate awareness to reduce energy and water consumption, aiming for life quality. Many constructions around de country have already the international certification, which also boost the rise of national certifications with specific criteria for the national context. However, such certificates are mainly destiny for medium and high standard buildings, often as a commercial advantage to explain the high costs. The purpose of this work is to be able to define what is being sustainable in the construction industry, taking for basis, LEED and CBCS. In addition, since there is a significant increase in the production of Housing Social Interest, the other angles will be to analyze how to apply the practices and sustainable technologies for low-cost projects with the objective to balance the three dimensions of sustainability: environmental, social and economics.

Análise crítica do processo de auditoria de sistema de gestão da qualidade no setor aeroespacial

A auditoria de sistema de gestão da qualidade é utilizada pelas organizações para melhorar o seu desempenho por meio de avaliações sistemáticas dos processos. Ao mesmo tempo, a atividade de auditoria vem sendo questionada quanto à sua capacidade de promover essa melhoria. Diante deste cenário, este artigo objetiva analisar fatores que afetam o processo de auditoria de certificação do sistema de gestão da qualidade, de modo a indicar oportunidades de melhoria das auditorias. A pesquisa é delimitada a auditorias no setor aeroespacial, que são orientadas pela NBR 15100. Foi realizada uma survey com auditores experientes nos anos de 2009 e 2010. São identificados fatores como comunicação, seleção da equipe, conhecimento do setor e os resultados mostram a existência de discrepâncias consideráveis entre o nível de importância e de aplicação desses fatores nas organizações auditadas.

The consuming of the natural resources in the agricultural sector does not represent only one external factor of the productive process, but also it implies in a bigger cost for the production, justified for this environmental degradation. In view of the necessity of evaluating the sustainment of the agricultural businesses, the use of performance indicators if makes of extreme importance. The measurement of the support through environmentalindicators is one of the most accepted forms of performing the evaluation of one given agricultural activity. In this context, the Base System for Eco-certification of Agricultural Businesses (Eco-cert Rural) developed by the Embrapa Environment at Jaguariúna/SP, has for purpose to present a method of evaluation of the agricultural businesses, not only of the point of view of the ecological performance, as well as considering the social, economic and organizational aspects. Through the analysis of the performance of the activity and the regularization of the disconformities found, it makes possible the eco-certification of the activities in the varied existing protocols, offering technologies designed to the sustainable development of the agricultural businesses. Using Eco-cert.Rural, this work evaluated the contribution of the use of mechanized harvest in sugar cane handling, front to the traditional system of manual harvest, using the fire. In the Sugar Cane Activity General Performance Index, Agrícola Rio Claro scored 2,08 of a maximum of 15. Amongst all the indicators, those wich reached performance worse had been related to the Use of Energy and the Income, by increasing fossil fuel consumptiom, and implying income concentration due to resignations of rural workers. Sustentabilidade socioambiental e a certificação de produtos orgânicos no estado de São Paulo

A produção de alimentos orgânicos no Brasil vem aumentando de maneira expressiva e tende a crescer ainda mais nos próximos anos, visto que a regulamentação da agricultura orgânica e seu marco legal são muito recentes. Considerando-se os problemas relacionados à agricultura convencional e o papel que a agricultura orgânica assume como alternativa ao sistema de produção vigente, o presente estudo tem como objetivo principal realizar uma revisão bibliográfica sobre a sustentabilidade do sistema orgânico de produção em seus aspectos técnicos, ecológicos, econômicos, socioculturais e políticos, comparativamente ao sistema de produção convencional. Além disso, buscou-se traçar um panorama atualizado sobre o mercado e a produção de alimentos orgânicos no Brasil e no Estado de São Paulo, de maneira a evidenciar os principais entraves à expansão da agricultura orgânica no país, enfocando especialmente os processos de certificação.

Recomendações para criação e gerenciamento de um sistema da qualidade em empresas de autopeças

This paper addresses the difficulties and best practices of a quality system of an automotive parts company. In it will be discussed the features and benefits of the proper use of a system of management and quality assurance. It emphasizes the proper use of tools and methodologies that aim improving the quality of processes and products. It also has some guidance information given by the standards of quality which helps the implementation of the quality system and the standards are important because it attests to the quality of companies. So, this work has as objective to guide the creation and management of the quality system in auto parts companies, which seek an increase in the quality of products and processes, it also helps to certify companies in the current quality standard for the sector, ISO TS 16949, and thus increases the competitiveness of companies in this market. As result, this paper resumes good practices, difficulties and key steps for creating and managing a quality system
