Improving business innovation and research through the application of neuromarketing with ethics: a framework

The objective of this paper is to analyse and to discuss the ethical issues in the field of research known as neuromarketing, a tool used to improve innovation in companies. It uses techniques available to neuroscientists, both newer and more sophisticated ones along with traditional ones, but now for new purposes. From the beginning, this new area has evoked discussions about ethical aspects related to the results presented. Despite the unrestricted controversy surrounding the theme, few studies have discussed ethical issues involved in this line of research in a pragmatic manner. In this sense, this paper seeks to analyse and discuss ethical issues in neuromarketing research through a literature review and the proposal for a framework of ethical mapping. This framework revealed the ethical implications that would be most prominent in certain research situations: the purpose of utilising neuromarketing techniques, organisational type, and industrial sector, among others.

With respect to design, scientific production in the area helps consolidate it as a scientific field can contribute to the development of society through the promotion of the construction of critical knowledge of researchers. Scientific conferences and journals, periodicals and books consist of some of the effective actions for the exchange of knowledge. Through these channels the results of research are disseminated, shared and put into discussion, collaborating with the learning process and cooperation among sectors. Thus, this paper reflects on the evolution of scientific research in the area and attempts to give an overview of current research of Design in Brazil and its correlation with the Graduate Program in Design.

Design and management optimization of trickle irrigation systems using non-linear programming

A non-linear model is presented which optimizes the lay-out, as well as the design and management of trickle irrigation systems, to achieve maximum net benefit. The model consists of an objective function that maximizes profit at the farm level, subject to appropriate geometric and hydraulic constraints. It can be applied to rectangular shaped fields, with uniform or zero slope. The software used is the Gams-Minos package. The basic inputs are the crop-water-production function, the cost function and cost of system components, and design variables. The main outputs are the annual net benefit and pipe diameters and lengths. To illustrate the capability of the model, a sensitivity analysis of the annual net benefit for a citrus field is evaluated with respect to irrigated area, ground slope, micro-sprinkler discharge and shape of the field. The sensitivity analysis suggests that the greatest benefit is obtained with the smallest microsprinkler discharge, the greatest area, a square field and zero ground slope. The costs of the investment and energy are the components of the objective function that had the greatest effect in the 120 situations evaluated. (C) 1996 Academic Press Limited

This research attempts to analyze the relationship between the National Secondary Education Examination and the design of teaching, specifically in the way of defining what should be taught, in the present National Curriculum identifying clues that help us in the explanation of a conception of teaching and making the confrontation between the evaluation device in this ENEM. We intend to identify, even if there is consistency between what is taught and what is learned in schools, whether it public or private, and it evaluates the evidence as ENEM. This work is part of the Bachelor's Degree in Education Full theme is a critical analysis of the evaluation system ENEM regarding their school pedagogical practices. The research objective was to study the genetic diversity of morphological traits in Eucalyptus grandis progenies growing under paclobutrazol regulator effects. The progeny trail was set up through design of randomized blocks. The morphological changes occurred before and during the plant flowering were analyzed. The estimation of genetic parameters were for plant height and stem diameter. The paclobutrazol have caused changes on plant development being strong by the beginning and becoming lightening through the evaluations. The coefficients of variation have shown there is higher genetic diversity within than among progenies for the studied traits. Therefore, it can have high efficiency on selection within progenies in the Eucalyptus grandis breeding program.

Aplicação de projeto de experimento no processo de manufatura de uma bobina de alumínio

TProducts must follow specifications in order to attend demands requested. In terms of rolled aluminum, one of the most significant items for customers is coil thickness. This is because only a tiny variation in thickness might cause a serious problem on customer's manufacturing line. Thereby, this research aims to analyze through design of experiments which factors and how they affect the thickness of aluminum coils. The response variable of the experiment is the thickness of aluminum coil, tensile strenght and yield strenght are the factors of the experiment and trimmers machines were considered as blocking. Data were obtained through tensile tests. The result of the experiment states that, according to the analysis of variance (ANOVA), while there is significant difference between the two levels of tensile strength, there is not any difference between the two levels of yield strength and trimmers machines. The thickness of the aluminum coils with high values of tensile strength tends to be thicker when compared with low values of tensile strength
