Este artigo discute o desenvolvimento dos conceitos democracia e sociedade civil, no Brasil dos anos 70. Defende a premissa de que seu início foi fortemente marcado por intelectuais acadêmicos de matriz marxista. Aponta que foi possível desenvolverem-se esses conceitos por uma vertente da dependência estrutural e da concepção de Estado burocrático-autoritário.

Considering the relevance attributed to the research practice during and after the undergraduate studies and the constant difficulty found by beginner researchers in this production, this article aims to analyze undergraduate students'experiences of reading and production of texts. For this purpose we applied a questionnaire to undergraduate students in the Linguistic Course of a public university from the southeast of Brazil, in order to observe, through a qualitative analysis, how these experiences contribute to the inclusion of students into the academic community and to their development as teachers/researchers. The research uses, as theoretical embasement, the literacies and textual genres concepts.

Disfunção temporomandibular na visão de profissionais e acadêmicos de odontologia

This paper presents the results of an applied qualitative study with dental students and professionals who work with people suffering from temporomandibular disorder. The aim was to investigate the way that dental practitioners and students perceive patients affected by this disorder, how they feel faced with the patients' suffering, and the importance they assign to a multidisciplinary approach, highlighting the treatments used. It is noteworthy that various factors are involved in the temporomandibular disorder framework, including emotional factors, as cited by the majority of the respondents. The data obtained indicated that the knowledge of the professionals and students related to caring for people with temporomandibular disorders was appropriate, however, important inadequacies were highlighted, such as the fact that professionals do not investigate the life history of the person in their psychosocial context.

Letramentos Acadêmicos e o processo de representação do graduandos em Letras na contemporaneidade

Investigadores de mayor visibilidad en Organización y Representación del Conocimiento: un estudio desde el análisis de cocitaciones

The most visible researchers in Knowledge Organization and Representation were identified, from the perspective of Brazilian researchers, based on cocitations from the papers presented in the last five meetings of the Encontros Nacionais de Pesquisa of the Associação Nacional de Pesquisa e Pós- Graduação em Ciência da Informação (ENANCIBs) from 2003 to 2008. First, the total number of references was identified, a total of 134 articles. Second, a citation analysis was conducted, being considered the most cited authors those who received 12 citations or more, which resulted in 31 most cited authors. Third, the Pajek software was used for the construction of the co-citation network and, thereafter, some indicators were calculated with the Ucinet software, which describe the structure and cohesion of the generated network, and, particularly, its density, and its degree of centrality, betweenness and proximity. The high cohesion of the network and the compliance between the most co-cited authors and the calculated indicators were verified.

This paper aims to present a survey of Journalism students from UNESP (Brazil) and from the University of Seville (Spain) which gathered data to assess the perception of the influence of the media on political decisions in this segment. Through empirical research - qualitative and quantitative – was observed, as a result, that digital media is still gaining ground in political campaigns and the effectiveness of actions organized through on line universe which are beginning to be proven, from the perspective of students. Letramentos acadêmicos e multimodalidade em contexto de EaD semipresencial

From a theorethical enunciative-discursive perspective, this article aims at discussing the process of the text consistency in digital context, in a particular manner, by means of problematic semiotic modes and resources updated in the academic production of the student who uses internet access computers in the semi-present Distant Learning (DL) process. It’s of interest to investigate how the academic literacies model may be linked to the multimodality study, considering, in theory, that in an electronic environment, the student has “unlimited” access to every and any kind of text, not just the “verbal” (name generally attributed to the graphic component) one. The collected material contains texts which were produced by the semi-present Pedagogy Course students from the Virtual University of São Paulo (UNIVESP), in 2010.
