Typology of companies networks for competitive assessment: an application in higher education institutions

Taking into account the changes in the market scenario by virtue of globalization, Institutes of Higher Education (IES) as well as other organizations seek their competitive stability. For that reason, it is up to organizations to adopt innovative models of management for their operations aimed at improving results. Company networks consist of a model that is perfect for uniting efforts through cooperation among partners in a given business, which can involve ties of different natures. This paper shows the development and the application of an auxiliary technique to analyze the intensity, nature and importance of internal and external relations in the formation of results for a company network. For such, a multiple case study was conducted at two IES in the State of São Paulo and their networks of partners and employees in order to observe their specificities and organizational strategies. The study demonstrated the existence of specific performance criteria (pillars) for each IES and its network, resulting from its competitive reality. It reveals evidence that the education pillar is strengthened in both cases, and the research pillar is growing, although it is the weakest. The outreach pillar is the most robust in the public IES and the financial sustainability pillar is relevant for the private IES, and it was only detected in this IES.

This paper aims to provide guidelines for the development of communication strategies and relationship to a Private Institution of Higher Education (PIHE), having as initial activity of this process the definition and distinction of its various stakeholders. Currently, it has become necessary due to changes the scene of higher education has been through. In general, competition is greater, the demands of customers increased, causing the university management to take new directions in order to plan the activities in the most possible professional way. The study enables the public to identify needs and preferences of each group, allowing the creation of communication strategies and more targeted and relationships more prosperous and sustainable, making them competitive advantages in the midst of this tumultuous contemporary educational context. Therefore, it was developed a study of public interest of Faculdades Integradas de Bauru - FIB - coupled with the development of a field research, exploratory and descriptive to get subsidies for a project relationship for the various stakeholders of the institution

The present study represents a qualitative thesis, characterized as a case study, which uses the method of the present approach. In addressing the academic home in physical education, there is the constancy of the discussions regarding the curriculum and professional formatting. In view of the curriculum modifications to fit the new legislation, and the fact they are few studies related to private institutions that offer such courses, which offer even greater number of courses when compared to public institutions aimed to investigate and analyze the professional profiles, curricular goals and flows contained in the pedagogical projects of courses bachelor degree in physical education and a private institution of higher education of the State of São Paulo, as well as verifying the existence and adequacy of articulation to the institutional educational project and the institutional development plan. Compounding the literature review discussed the key historical facts relating to courses in physical education in our country, and its path to the current model. Also presented was the law of physical education courses in force in Brazil and some concepts about teaching course projects and their relationship to other institutional documents. Techniques were used to review and document analysis, with primary source documents of their own and other government institution. It found a lack of interest of some private institutions of higher education in official documents available for this type of research, which is bad since there are more courses offered by them compared to public institutions. As for the degree course for training teachers of physical education, found lack of specificity regarding the differentiation between content and the bachelor, which ends up deviating from the expectations contained in the course to the one presented in the curriculum. A experiência da saúde coletiva na formação profissional: retrato da extensão universitária

The guidelines of National Curriculum for Dental courses highlights the necessity in providing for the professional the ability to analyze and assess community’s problems and needs, and to create solutions for the society. The continuing education may be considered a useful tool for the teaching and learning because it favors the diversification of learning environments, which allows the insertion of undergraduate and graduate students into the real scenarios. This current study aimed to assess the Public Health projects and programs of the UNESP – Araçatuba Dental School, by describing the interaction experiences between faculty and health services in the professional career development. Historical, documentary and descriptive searches were performed based on the faculty archives such as official documents, reports, databases from the Pro-rector of continuing education and published papers in the period between 1964 and 2011. The following experiences were noted: the Extra-Muro Dental Service (SEMO), established in 1964, that focused in providing dental treatment to the rural population, highlighted the social inclusion of discriminated society groups since that time. In 1972, this service was expanded to several specific populations living in the urban areas. In the '60s, many educational campaigns were performed as homemade water filter and construction of wells and septic tanks which demonstrate the concern with the determinants of healthdisease process. At that time, the campaign of fluoridation of public water supplies in several counties started as Araçatuba, Birigui, Penápolis, Guararapes, Valparaíso and so on. The Campaign of “Good Teeth” from the '70s became wider over time and it was transformed in the "Oral Health Education Program" and it was continuously developed in all public schools of Araçatuba and some neighboring towns, benefiting children aged from 6 to 10 years-old. Several epidemiological studies of caries, periodontal diseases, malocclusion and fluorosis were conducted in cooperation with local governments, and counted with the participation of undergraduate and graduate students. Pereira Barreto – SP was the precursor city in Brazil to carry out fluorosis study. Currently, 12 projects of Public Health from the Institution of Higher Education in the Pro-rector of continuing education are being developed. The concern in qualifying the human resources in health is confirmed with the development of training courses and workshops for professionals, highlighting the training for people enrolled in the Family Health program; Community Health Agent training - Solidarity University, and Municipal Health Counselors training. The Graduate Program in Social and Preventive Dentistry, created in 1993, has an important role to train several professionals for the Unified Health System, and provides education to create researchers, professors and administrators, and enucleates research groups in several Brazilian states. In all activities showed herein, a dynamic participation of undergraduate and graduate students has been observed, and several books, guidelines, articles, brochures and booklets have been published as a result of the continuing education activities.. It was concluded that different projects and programs have been developed by the Public Health of UNESP –Araçatuba Dental School, which allow the exchange of experience between the university and health services, and benefit all participants enrolled in these activities.

Sofrimento psíquico e trabalho intelectual

This study aims to understand if intellectual work provides conditions for the emergence of psychic suffering inuniversity teachers in a public institution of higher education. Use is made of the philosophical assumptions ofhistorical materialism, work as a category of nuclear analysis of human phenomena, and also the categories ofalienated labor and intellectual work. It also refers to mental illnesses as a social production. The research subjectswere teachers with contracts of employment in exclusive dedication (RDIDP). It is used as an instrument for datacollection, a questionnaire with closed and opened questions of opinative character. Responses were categorized andanalyzed qualitatively and had not intention of giving statistical data. However, in order to better display, the samepercentage of the sample are presented, among which one third (29.6%) have some health problem after enteringuniversity. Of those, 15,5% are related to the organization of work, 5,6% to the working conditions, 2,8%concomitantly to the conditions and the organization of work. The results indicate that the organization of work in apublic university has shown itself as a space of psychic suffering, but also of alienation.

Relação entre transtorno do ciclo vigília-sono e trabalho noturno: desafios à segurança e saúde do trabalhador

The work and work organization influence the evolution of the health-disorder process by establishing a causal link with the work and the disorder. The present study aimed to verify the presence of the disorder of the sleepwake cycle triggered by non-organic factors, by identifying the possible effects on physical health, mental health and the social and family relations ten watchmen of a public institution of higher education. It was found that 80% of respondents had one or more of the symptoms that meet the criteria for the diagnosis of this non-organic disorder of sleep-wake cycle. We emphasize the need for specialized diagnostic, medical, psychological and social support for this population
