The division of the population into income groups is a determinant of spatial perception differentiated by people for the structuring of geographical limits. The analysis, when cartographic, can however show the distortion of reality.-translated by C.Wilson

The Uberaba Sandstone formation with local expression in the city of Uberaba (State of Minas Gerais) and vicinities, has been focused from different lithostratigraphic points of view. In spite of its characterization by previous authors as a formation, its geographic distribution as well as its relationship with other units of the Parana sedimentary basin has never been adequately elucidated. Simultaneously with a better characterization of the Uberaba Formation petrographic properties, the authors redefine its geographic distribution and suggest a possible stratigraphic relationship with other formations of the Bauru Group which have been defined in the State of Sao Paulo.-English summary

This work describes the primary and tectonic-metamorphic structures of the Eleuterio Formation, cropping 1 km NW of the village of Eleuterio, State of Sao Paulo. The structural feature have been studied chiefly in low grade metamorphic siltites, arkoses and conglomerates. The textural evolution is marked by fragmentation, clay minerals reaction, pression solution with silica recrystallization, mechanical rotation in minerals, fluid circulation and dissolution, mica beards, the possibily crystallization of biotite and epidote, and so on. The tectonic metamorphic foliation now described is supposed to be formed by simple shear with a possible pure shear component. -English summary

This short paper describes an outcrop that is a very good example of the aeolian sedimentation in the Piramboia Formation (Triassic) in the Parana Basin. -English summary

During a basinal scale study on Palermo Formation (Upper Permian, Parana Basin) high elevated Gamma Ray picks were identified mainly in the lower third of that stratigraphic unit. Those Gamma Ray signatures have been used as good regional stratigraphic markers. From them it was possible one chronostratigraphic analysis of Palermo Formation as pointed out by previous papers (Perinotto). Potassium40 is the responsible for the high Gamma Ray picks in the Palermo Formation. -from English summary

Pigeonpea protein concentrate was prepared from full-fat decorticated raw flour. The water holding capacity of pigeonpea flour of decorticated seeds is 75% and its oil absorption capacity a 30%. The water holding capacity of the protein concentrate is three times the dry weight. The oil absorption capacity of the concentrate was 1,29 mL oil/g protein. The whipping capacity of the pigeonpea flour and its protein concentrate were evaluated.

The study of oscillatory phenomena is an important topic in several areas of knowledge. The understanding and the solution of many problems that scientists and engineers confront nowadays can be formulated, at least as an analogy, in terms of an oscillatory movement. The description of the motion of this nature has remarkable contributions to the mathematical and conceptual formation of the students and for solving daily problems in several areas. In this paper we propose a theoretical and experimental approach involving the phenomenon of harmonic oscillations in two dimensions. Lissajous curves were used as experimental demonstration of the resulting trajectories. These curves were obtained from relatively simple experimental apparatus, which is affordable in most teaching laboratories of physics.
