The objective of this study was to discuss the teaching-learning process of corporal approaches in the Occupational Therapy fi eld. The informations were collected during the classes, in the body approaches matter, administered in the fourth period of the graduate program in Occupational Therapy of the Universidade Estadual Paulista, through focus groups conducted at the end of all twelve-face meetings with classes of four hours each. The study was realized by forty students enrolled in the discipline. All meetings were fi lmed, which allowed the full transcript and analysis of the students reports. The speeches analysis consisted of content analysis and categories creation. The results indicated to the perception of the thematic discussed during the meetings enabled the student to experience and build critical thinking about what is proper the client, and through a holistic approach, about what is guiding the potency of the Occupational Therapy process. The body approaches are considered a feature powerfull transformer in the teaching-learning of occupational therapy as an investigative and formative activity in the understandings’ construction of the professional practice of occupational therapists in situations of uniqueness, complexity, uncertainty and confl ict in the value process.

Latin-American Society of Forensic Genetics (SLAGF) Interlaboratory Quality Control Exercise (2010-2011) included the analysis of three bloodstain samples in FTA Classic Card (three persons, biologically unrelated) and one theoretical exercise. There were 56 participating laboratories from 13 Latin-American countries that belong to society, were reported 70 STRs, including autosomal and sex chromosome markers with consensus in 53 STRs with a rate in reporting errors of 2.3%. Fifty-six laboratories reported results in theoretical exercise with mistakes in calculation of IP for each marker. It is necessary to hold meetings to discuss the results of this exercise to reach conclusions and recommendations on all aspects of DNA forensics analysis and paternity test, to improve results and quality in the results of each laboratory. © 2011 Elsevier B.V.

Collaborative Systems are designed to support individuals in order to solve a problem together, or cooperatively (or collaboratively). Such systems have the advantage of not requiring the presence in the same location of the participants. The basis of any Collaborative System is communication, where users interact with each other in order to exchange information. Communication among individuals is accomplished through collaborative tools such as chat, email, document repository, etc.. Using these tools, companies can reduce operational costs, saving on travel and accommodation of its employees to attend meetings. The project members only need a computer with internet access to use collaborative tools. Project management is essential to the quality of the nal product. To perform a proper management, methodologies must be applied using methods, tools and procedures. There are some phases that are considered generic for all software process models, they are: de nition, development, maintenance and activity to support the software process. In this paper is described a platform for project management using the concepts and features of Collaborative Systems. The goal of this platform is to unify various collaborative tools (such as chat and document repository) in a project management system. Using the system, it becomes possible to manage projects, and the ability to maintain an active constant communication between members of each project

This experiment report refers to the project named “Sarauzinho”, which is linked to the extension “Workshops of Psychoanalysis and Artistics Gatherings” project. “Sarauzinho” was a partnership between UNESP and CREAS, created with the aim to assist children victims of sexual violence though a playful and artistic method and to implement a psychoanalytic listening of demands that appeared during the working group implementation. At the same time, the parents/responsible person who took the children to the meetings also received psychotherapeutic service at the waiting room, in an operative group format with psychoanalytic listening. The project has happened in 11 sessions (once a week, two hours each), with 4 kids and 4 caregivers participating. The service for the kids was organized in workshop models (open and free) and in little gatherings, with preprogrammed contents (playful and artistic). The initiative was inspired by the “Green houses”, a creation of the French psychoanalyst Françoise Dolto, and by the Museum “Imagens do Inconsciente do Centro Psiquiátrico Pedro II”, in Nise da Silveira, Rio de Janeiro city. This university extension activity has enabled the students to access some of the children’s traumas, as well as to obtain a better understanding of an infantile group psychotherapeutic service, with psychoanalytic listening. Besides, it has provided a playful and artistic environment to listen to the children and enable them to create new meanings of their traumas. For the adult participants, the meetings were moments to talk about their anxieties and to receive new guidance and instructions about their children’s education, especially about sexuality. The results, either related to the children’s meeting, as to the adult’s meeting, were favorable to the continuity of the project.

Individuals with facial paralysis of 6 months or more without evidence of clinical or electromyographic improvement have been successfully reanimated utilizing an orthodromic temporalis transfer in conjunction with end-to-side cross-face nerve grafts. The temporalis muscle insertion is released from the coronoid process of the mandible and sutured to a fascia lata graft that is secured distally to the commissure and paralyzed hemilip. The orthodromic transfer of the temporalis muscle overcomes the concave temporal deformity and zygomatic fullness produced by the turning down of the central third of the muscle (Gillies procedure) while yielding stronger muscle contraction and a more symmetric smile. The muscle flap is combined with cross-face sural nerve grafts utilizing end-to-side neurorrhaphies to import myelinated motor fibers to the paralyzed muscles of facial expression in the midface and perioral region. Cross-face nerve grafting provides the potential for true spontaneous facial motion. We feel that the synergy created by the combination of techniques can perhaps produce a more symmetrical and synchronized smile than either procedure in isolation.Nineteen patients underwent an orthodromic temporalis muscle flap in conjunction with cross-face (buccal-buccal with end-to-side neurorrhaphy) nerve grafts. To evaluate the symmetry of the smile, we measured the length of the two hemilips (normal and affected) using the CorelDRAW X3 software. Measurements were obtained in the pre- and postoperative period and compared for symmetry. There was significant improvement in smile symmetry in 89.5 % of patients.Orthodromic temporalis muscle transfer in conjunction with cross face nerve grafts creates a synergistic effect frequently producing an aesthetic, symmetric smile. This journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article.
