A partir de um recorte do léxico francês, enfocaremos a possibilidade de se traduzirem para o português duas modalidades de contribuição à língua francesa: os empréstimos e os estrangeirismos, numa tentativa de resolução de eventuais problemas do ato tradutório.

Participando do debate proposto para este número, discutimos questões relativas ao emprego de estrangeirismos e empréstimos, seja no âmbito do uso cotidiano seja no caso de submissão das normas desse uso ao texto da lei.

A integração dos neologismos por empréstimo ao léxico português

Os termos estrangeiros empregados em uma língua podem constituir estrangeirismos e empréstimos. Com base em um corpus extraído de revistas e jornais brasileiros contemporâneos, procuramos estudar a fase neológica do empréstimo e a integração desse elemento à língua portuguesa.

Empréstimos lexicais na imprensa política brasileira

Este trabalho tem por objetivo o estudo dos termos estrangeiros empregados em um corpus politicoda imprensa brasileira contemporânea. Por meio do noticiário politico nacional e internacional de alguns jornaise revistas publicados no Brasil, procuramos analisar os estrangeirismos e os neologismos por empréstimoem fase de integração à língua portuguesa.

Dicionários de informática: uma análise comparativa

Este trabalho apresenta uma análise comparativa de alguns dicionários de informática, no que diz respeito, principalmente, à adequação de seus títulos e definições, metodologia de consulta, traduções sobre verbetes. Aponta, a partir de um levantamento feito com profissionais da área, as palavras mais comuns na informática e como são abordadas nesses dicionários.

Fon-Fon – Um registro da vida mundana no Rio de Janeiro da Belle Époque

A revista Fon-Fon!, periódico que circulou na primeira metade do século XX, é um importante documento no que concerne ao registro da vida socio-cultural do Brasil durante a Belle Époque. A opção por esse semanário deve-se à considerável inserção de estrangeirismos franceses nas suas colunas que, por meio de um equilíbrio razoável entre literatura, mundanismo e atualidades, desvelava o caráter francófilo e francófono da sociedade carioca. Nesse sentido, esse estudo visa mostrar, do ponto de vista lingüístico, a importância que esse periódico ocupa na representação do português brasileiro nas primeiras décadas daquele século, por meio do emprego de unidades lexicais francesas em seus artigos, revelando, assim, a significativa influência da cultura francesa no Brasil.

This dissertation aims to study the adaptation of proper names of (truly or supposedly) foreign origin, investigating the force of the phonological system of the destination language in the process of incorporating foreign words, objecting to bring contributions to the determination of Brazilian Portuguese phonological identity, from the investigation of the limits between what is and what is not considered Portuguese, from the point of view of the pronunciation , to its own native speakers. The objective is to evaluate in which way loans introduce or not a new microsystem in the destination language (CARVALHO, 2009, p. 85) in the phonological level

Tratamento terminográfico de termos em inglês do comércio Internacional em dicionários franceses

Brazil has a strong trading relationship with several countries, including France, which has intensified these links in recent years and intends to do so yet further. Legal documents regulate this operation, resulting in a set of terms which designate concepts specific to this area. Communication between Brazilian and French buyers and sellers is intense and does not permit the occurrence of errors in understanding orders for merchandise nor in terms of purchase and sale. It is therefore very important that agents of International Trade between Brazil and France should have access to a specialised terminographic tool in the area, containing the relevant terms used in French and Portuguese. This type of work does not currently exist; we therefore decided to make a contribution and draw up a proposal for a bilingual French-Portuguese dictionary in this specialised area. During our research, we registered a significant presence of English terms in International Trade texts originally written in Portuguese and in French, which may be explained by the fact that English currently has the role of global lingua franca. However, it is well known that France operates a policy of linguistic protectionism, making the use of French obligatory in all sectors of activity in France. This generated an area of doubt: how should one deal with English terms in a bilingual French-Portugese dictionary? In order to begin the search for an answer to this question, we decided to see what treatment was given to English terms in the area of International Trade in some French dictionaries. In this paper we shall present the principal results obtained during our research.

O ensino de expressões idiomáticas à luz da lexicografia pedagógica

In the current context of lexicographical studies, there have been increasing discussions concerning the issue of the relationship between theoretical knowledge of the lexicon and pedagogical practices involved in its teaching. However, in this context, the special lexicon of Portuguese such as neologisms, foreign words, slang and idioms has received little attention from researchers. There are many theoretical studies on each one of these phenomena, but few studies aim at an organization and inclusion of special units in the teaching of Portuguese. For this reason, this article presents a reflection on the teaching of idioms, and, despite the widely held belief that dictionaries are only needed for the teaching of foreign languages, the article suggests the implementation of special dictionaries for the teaching of Portuguese Language in elementary education.
