Aplicação de princípios de ergonomia no atendimento odontológico

The dentist has been suggested as a professional vulnerable to labor risks mainly related to working posture. This study examined the application of ergonomics principles during the dental attendances made by university student of the last period of the Araçatuba Dental University. Twenty-four attendants were photographed and the images were digitally analyzed for the verification of 10 requirements that determine a healthy labor posture, defined by the project ISO Standard / TC 106/SC 6 N 411. It was observed that 50% of items from the check list obtained higher percentages of negative replies. The students had greater difficulties as to the correct position of the angle between the upper and lower leg when sitting, the ideal adjustment of the light focus reflector in the field of work and the patient positioning. It was concluded that the dental attendances were held without compliance with the ergonomic requirements. The greatest difficulties regarding the work posture were the sitting posture, the light beam and the patient positioning. Students need better guidance about ergonomic principles and requirements, which should occur at any time of life, but earliest they are installed, greater the benefits, assimilation and incorporation of adequate working postures will be. We need a reform that addresses all sectors of the dental system, so that learning and application of ergonomics in dentistry become effective, efficient and effective.

Levantamento de plantas daninhas aquáticas no reservatório de Alagados, Ponta Grossa-PR

O monitoramento de macrófitas da represa Alagados um reservatório artificial de água que abastece parcialmente a população do município de Ponta Grossa-PR se faz necessário, uma vez que resíduos urbanos, bem como dejetos de áreas rurais, são descartados direta ou indiretamente nesse ambiente. Os objetivos deste trabalho foram realizar o inventário de plantas aquáticas coletadas entre agosto de 2007 e julho de 2008 no entorno do lago, como medida de monitoramento da área; indicar a frequência das espécies e apresentar um diagnóstico sobre o crescimento populacional destas; e identificar áreas onde a colonização por macrófitas é intensa, podendo tornar-se problema ambiental. Para realizar esse inventário, foram efetuadas 10 coletas em 48 pontos de amostragem ao longo das margens do lago da represa. Exsicatas foram depositadas no Herbário da Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa (HUPG). Foram amostradas 54 espécies, distribuídas em 16 famílias de angiospermas, 8 monocotiledôneas e 8 dicotiledôneas, e outras duas famílias de pteridófitas.

Diretrizes para diagnóstico morfológico em síndromes mielodisplásicas

As síndromes mielodisplásicas são reconhecidas como doenças que se originam nas células-tronco da medula óssea e que requerem avaliação sistemática e criteriosa de sangue periférico e medula óssea para seu correto diagnóstico. O objetivo deste relato é estabelecer os critérios morfológicos (cito-histológicos) como parâmetros para o diagnóstico de SMD em amostras de sangue periférico e medula óssea, com especial direcionamento aos hematologistas e patologistas clínicos que exercem a hematologia laboratorial na sua rotina de trabalho. Os principais achados morfológicos são listados no final deste relato, na forma de check-list, objetivando a sistematização sobre estes achados.

Actinopterygii, Siluriformes, Loricariidae, Loricariichthys platymetopon Isbrucker and Nijssen, 1979: first record in Reservoir of Canoas II, Middle Paranapanema River, border of the states of São Paulo and Parana, Brazil.

First record of the cascudo, Loricariichthys platymetopon Isbrucker and Nijssen, 1979 in Canoas II Reservoir (Middle Paranapanema River, border of the states of São Paulo and Parana, Brazil). Its occurrence is due to the flooding of Sete Quedas waterfall, as a result of the construction of Itaipu Reservoir. Furthermore, there is absence or low abundance of natural predators, like Salminus brasiliensis, since this species has difficulties to adapt or even survive in reservoirs.

Ichthyofaunal survey of the Riacho Goulart, tributary of the Tiete River (upper Parana basin).

Fishes assessed in the present study were collected in the Riacho Goulart, a small tributary of Tiete River, upper Parana basin. In order to sample different habitats, four collection sites were selected. A total of 1,241 individuals belonging to 30 species, 15 families, and six orders were captured. The list of fish species presented herein is important for the knowledge of the biodiversity of low Tiete basin.

Reptilia, Squamata, Dipsadidae, Xenodontinae, Taeniophallus brevirostris (Peters, 1863): distribution extension and new state record.

Taeniophallus brevirostris is a dipsadid snake widely distributed in Amazon. Here we report a new Brazilian state record for the species, improving our knowledge of its geographic distribution. 0n 15 May of 2008, one female specimen was collected do Serra do Santo Expediot, Aripuana municipality, state of Mato Grosso, Brazil. This is the first record of this species for the state of Mato Grosso and extends its distribution ca. 300 kilometers from the nearest localities presented in literature.

Squamata, Elapidae, Micrurus surinamensis (Cuvier, 1817): new records and distribution map in the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil, with notes on diet and activity period.

We report six new records of M. surinamensis and present the map of distribution with known records for this species of semiaquatic coral snake in the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil.

Annelida, Hirudinida, Stibarobdella moorei (Oka, 1910): new distribution and host records.

The present report is the northernmost capture of the piscicolid leech Stibarobdella moorei in the western South Atlantic Ocean. This is also the first time S. moorei is found associated to a batoid fish in the Brazilian coast, the eyespot skate Atlantoraja cyclophora. Stibarobdella moorei was found fixed in the dorsal side of a male eyespot skate, caught by bottom trawl around of the São Paulo coast, southeastern Brazil. A brief description of the morphology of the parasite and a discussion on the taxonomic status of the S. moorei are presented.

Fish, Passa Cinco stream, Corumbatai River basin, state of São Paulo, Brazil.

The fishes of the present study were collected in Passa Cinco stream, a main river of Corumbatai river basin, Tiete drainage. Five sites were selected in that stream, downstream from headwater to its mouth, and six samplings were performed using the following fishery equipment: a sieve, electric fishery equipment, gill nets and fish-traps. 5082 individuals, 62 species, 18 families and 6 orders were captured. The orders Characiformes and Siluriformes were the most representative and the families Characidae and Loricariidae presented the largest in number of species.
