The technologies are advancing at a pace so expressive that allow the increase of the power quality from generation until the distribution to end customers. This improvement has been made possible through the automation of the energy that follows to a better quality of the energy provided, a lower energy supply disruptions and a very short recovery time. The trend of today and the near future is the distributed energy generation. To keep the automated control of the chain, the presence of Smart Grids is needed and that will be the most efficient and economical way to manage the entire system. Within this theme, is going to be necessary analyze the electric cars that promise to promote a more sustainable transport because it doesn’t uses fossil fuels, and more healthy because it does not emit pollutants into the atmosphere. The popularization of this type of vehicle is estimated to happen in a few decades and the case study analyzing its influence on the demand of the electrical system is something that will be very important in the near future. Aplicação de adesivos estruturais em painéis de carros

The automobile industry is increasingly interested in reducing vehicle weight for greater speed, lower fuel consumption and emissions, through innovation of materials and processes. One way to do this is to seek the replacement of conventional processes by the use of structural adhesives. Structural adhesives are highly resistant materials, which can replace rivets, bolts and welds allowing the substrate / adhesive assemble is stronger than the substrate itself. One of the major advantages of gluing with respect to welding is its esthetic appearance, since it does not leave marks. For this reason, parts to be soldered require a minimum thickness so that the marks do not appear, since the pieces from gluing have no restriction as to the thickness. By replacing the vibration welding process for gluing process of the instrument panel parts of an automobile, one obtains a reduction of the thickness of the parts and therefore it decreases the weight of the car. This work aims to study the various structural adhesives that already exist on the market to be applied on the instrument panel. The mechanical test performed to measure the maximum adhesive strength was the Lap Shear Test at 23°C (room temperature), -35°C and 85°C. The types of adhesives used were the hot-melt and the bi-component. By the results obtained, it is in favor using the bi-component for application to the union of instrument panel parts

This paper analyzes the small and medium armored combat vehicle industry, in order to understand its modus operandi. We investigate the former largest Brazilian producer of small and medium armored combat vehicles, Engesa, and concluded that its world success was a result both of its privileged perception to occupy a market niche and of the special relationship among its CEO and the Brazilian Army. A combination of negative factors conduced the firm to its bankruptcy, in the beginning of the 1990s, but we also identified a huge business potential, which could be either occupied by Engesa, if it had not disappeared, or by a follower in this market.

Ritual e vida cotidiana no sul do Amazonas: os Tenharim do rio Marmelos

Este artigo descreve um ritual que ocorreo anualmente entre os Tenharim do rio Marmelos, um povo indígena que vive na região sul do estado do Amazonas. A intenção é demonstrar como os aspectos políticos estão diretamente relacionados à organização social e à cosmologia. Além disso, percebe-se que o ritual opera uma conexão temporal juntando o tempo do mito e dos ancestrais ao tempo presente. Utilizando-se de objetos técnicos de nossa sociedade - carros, panelas -, e distribuindo biscoitos e sucos artificiais aos convidados, os Tenharim mobilizam seu mundo e, através da linguagem da predação, atualizam suas reflexões sobre o mundo contemporâneo.
