Processos midiáticos e produção de sentido

Constituída por um conjunto de artigos de docentes da Faculdade de Arquitetura, Artes e Comunicação da Unesp e de outras instituições de ensino superior, esta obra tem como ponto de convergência a análise da mídia. Organizada pelo professor Mauro de Souza Ventura, coordenador do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação da Unesp, o livro busca compreender as dimensões socioculturais e de produção de sentido nos processos de elaboração, veiculação e recepção da comunicação midiática. Os aspectos abordados são diversos, mas os artigos podem ser reunidos em torno de três eixos - questões teórico-metodológicas, análises específicas de notícias e estudos sobre algumas especializações da comunicação da mídia. As análises transitam por temas como as ambivalências da chamada Teoria da Comunicação, o papel de storytellers dos jornalistas em sua produção na web, uma comparação das coberturas do caso da estudante Geysy Arruda feitas pelos jornais Folha e Estadão e o jornalismo científico na imprensa brasileira, entre outros.

This research presents the results of a cephalometric radiography study, in frontal norm, that was used to measure the possible linear correlations between several linear dimensions of the face, in a sample of a 140 caucasian brazilians, with an average age of 20 years, who were distributed in 2 groups as follows: Control group - formed of 35 males and 35 females, with no apparent facial deformities and with dental oclusion, not necessarily, in Angle's Class I; Unilateral cleft lip and palate group - formed of 35 males and 35 females with surgical correction of the up in the first year and of the palate until the third year of life, without orthodontic treatment. ln each teleradiography, the following parameters were measured using a computer: - Lateral orbit width or external orbit width (LOe) - Medial orbit width or internal orbit width (LOI) - Zygomatic width or facial width (LZI) - Mastold width (LMa) - Maxilar width (LMx) - Nasal width (LNa) - Condilar width (LCo) - Antigonial width (LGa) The values obtained were treated statistically using quantitative analysis (arithmetic mean, standard deviation, standard mean error, Person's variation factor and Pearson factor linear correlation). Theirs significance was established by Student's t test. Descrição do conceito de deficiência a partir da mídia cinematográfica: uma análise comportamental

This work pointed out forming elements from the conception of special necessities that the media show the audience by the movies. An expression description has established special needs and they were identified as keywords on a search of movies (1994-2004) which were analyzed by two observers, according to a script. The results showed that 33 of the movies selected, 39.9% were classified in the ramacategory; 64% shows the disability as organic nature and 57% with predominant clinic diagnoses. Many labeled practices were identified (85%) and few accessibilities options (76%). In 85% of the movies the disability is said a manifestation of problems with few (58%) professionals intervention. The results are discussed by the media role on the concept formation of disabilities, offering interaction models with important role on social practice specification or unsuitable to the relation with the diversity and to the culture.

Livros didáticos de ensino religioso: Análise da construção da polêmica no discurso da mídia

This text aims to identify the discursive relations and the mechanisms used by sources - discourses gathered at press and specialized sites - in composing of viewpoints presented about the religious education textbooks and, a result of that, of controversial relationship built thereafter. The theoretical foundation of this work rests largely on the concepts of global semantics and constitutive intermisunderstanding (MAINGUENEAU, 1997, 2008) and discursive heterogeneity (AUTHIER-REVUZ, 1990, 1998). The research corpus consisted of four texts, three of which were published in 2010 and another in 2011, two reports and two opinion articles about the subject. From our analysis, we could see the construction of a controversial relationship between a discursive formation that challenges the teaching of religion in Brazilian public education, on the grounds that benefit the Christian faith and, moreover, one that supports the continuation of this practice and consider it important for the formation of the student and also as a promoter of diversity and equality.

The objective of this work is to compare how manifests the ideological positioning in the hegemonic media productions, according to Gramsci's conception, in relation to the radical alternative media, proposed by John Downing. The research has as opinionated content sample printed newspaper O Estado de s. Paulo, contrasting with the expressions of NON-PROFIT bauruense environmental “Instituto Ambiental Vidágua on the proposals of the new Brazilian forest Code. The analysis will hold in an interval between the adoption of the code by the Chamber of deputies in April 2012, and the provisional measure of President Dilma Rousseff with 32 modifications, after vetoing 12 articles proposed initially in may 2012. Jornalismo econômico como exercício da cidadania: uma análise da divulgação econômica na mídia oficial e nos veículos Universo Online e O Estado de São Paulo

The present study had the intention to demonstrate how the language used by official sources of economy helps to keep the limitation and lack of accessibility of economic journalism to non-specialist readers. Over two weeks, we compared the disclosures in the economics editorial office of the site Universo Online and the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo to those cited in official reports. From this analysis of more than 50 issues selected for the sample, was observed how the technical language used by the official press makes more difficult the access to information and citizenship. Besides the comparison and description of the reports, the study involved the content analysis employed in the media. It was noted the presence of biased approaches and materials poorly cleared. The language used in many cases was not appropriate to the type of audience for which the news was heading. One of the most serious problems, perhaps, was the copy and paraphrase of press releases. The reports, most are limited to the specialist showed, contrary to the duty of public transparency, while highlighting the problems, the study also showed well-written texts that indicate a promising future for citizen and economic journalism

O atletismo na mídia: análise dos XV Jogos Pan-Americanos

Este trabalho tem como objetivo Identificar a forma pela qual o atletismo é divulgado pela mídia impressa. Para tanto, foram coletadas reportagens referentes a esta modalidade esportiva na mídia impressa durante o período dos Jogos Pan-Americanos do Rio de Janeiro, em 2007. Mais especificamente, foram analisadas as reportagens referentes ao atletismo, do jornal “Folha de São Paulo”, coletadas 13 dias antes dos Jogos Pan-Americanos, durante os Jogos Pan-Americanos e 13 dias após o seu término. Com base na Análise de conteúdo de Bardin (1979), foram identificadas 6 categorias de análise, quais sejam: “Quadro de resultados/críticas”; “Análise crítica da competição”; “Expectativa de resultados” “Reportagens poliesportivas”; “Lesões” e “História de vida e incentivo”. Os resultados demonstraram que a mídia, por meio de suas reportagens, exerce influência no modo e na forma com que o leitor interpreta o atletismo, já que registra críticas aos atletas; cria rivalidades entre eles; gera expectativas por resultados positivos e enaltece os melhores atletas em detrimento dos menos conhecidos do público. Por meio dessa pesquisa constatamos particularidades da relação entre o atletismo e a mídia, as quais certamente influenciam no conhecimento que se tem acerca dessa modalidade esportiva.

RPG e mídia: uma análise do caso Ouro Preto

This paper is intended to perform an analysis of the news published by the Website Ouropreto.com.br and the portals and Uai e Terra in news about the murder of the student Aline Silveira Soares and about its judgment. According with the news, the student's body was found in the cemetery of the church Nossa Senhora das Mercês e Misericórdia on 14th October 2001 in the city of Ouro Preto in Minas Gerais. The police and the media reverberated the hypothesis that Aline would had been killed during a Satanic ritual related to the RPG game(Role Playing Game) which is a game where players assume characters within a story. Our proposal is to analyze the coverage of vehicles of different ranges (local, regional and national) and evaluate how the case was shown focusing on its supposed relationship with the RPG game
