A importância da reserva legal para a preservação da fauna e flora existentes nas propriedades rurais de Botucatu

The main objective of this study was elaborating a diagnosis of technical conditions of Legal Reserves situation on the rural properties in Botucatu. In addition, considering the characteristics of fauna and flora and the economic aspects of these areas, it was presented alternatives to encourage the correct implantation and the effective preservation of the Legal Reserves. Because these areas contribute to the maintenance of local biodiversity and to availability of environmental services essential for all living creatures. In this study it was observed the presence of native vegetation in 13% of the rural properties’ areas in Botucatu, it is therefore necessary the recovery (reforestation) of 7% of all the rural properties’ areas, to be achieved the 20% of native vegetation (minimum area to be preserved as Legal Reserve, as disposed in Federal Law nº 12.651/12) on rural properties. A viable and significant alternative for recovery these areas, reinforced by the new forestry law, is the practice of sustainable management, that must be carried in harmony with conventional farming practices existing in the remaining areas of rural properties

Estudo comparativo do custo da semeadura direta na cultura do milho utilizando duas metodologias

The present work is about a comparative study of two methodologies (MIALHE and ASABE), used to calculate the cost per hectare in the tillage operation in the culture of corn. The methodology of ASABE presents a higher cost per hectare in relation to the MIALHE proposal, being that the methodologies presents similar costs related to the depreciation expenses, accommodation and insurance. The differences were that in the ASABE proposal, the biggest expenses involved the payment of interest, fuel, lube and handwork, while in the MIALHE methodology, only the expense regarding to maintenance was more. The methodology of ASABE most suitable for management costs per hectare.

ADMINISTRAÇÃO EPIDURAL DE OPIÓIDES em CÃES

Os opióides têm sido utilizados em Medicina Veterinária há vários anos como alternativa para o alívio da dor pós-operatória ou traumática. Atualmente, tem-se dado maior valor ao controle da dor nos animais, visando a oferecer melhores condições de recuperação ao paciente traumatizado ou recém-operado. A morfina foi o primeiro opióide usado em animais. Mais recentemente, a administração dessa substância, por via epidural, vem sendo empregada no controle da dor com resultados promissores. Assim, nesta revisão, abordam-se vários aspectos referentes aos efeitos e às indicações da administração epidural de opióides em cães.
