(2) C15H19IN2STe, Mr = 513.88, P2(1)/n, a = 8.434(5), b = 11.697(5), c = 18.472(5) angstrom, beta = 98.556(5)degrees, Z = 4, R-1 = 0.0236. The synthesis of the aryltellurenyl N,N',-tetramethylthiourea (tmtu) iodide has been performed by ligand exchange with potassium iodide and the corresponding aryltellurenyl(tmtu) bromide. In both structures the tellurium atom is primarily three-coordinated, being bonded to a carbon atom of the organic ring and, in directions nearly perpendicular to the Te-C bond, to one tmtu sulfur atom and one iodine. In addition there are Te...secondary bonds, joining the molecules in centrosymmetric dimers, which in turn are joined through C-H...1 and C-H... S interactions, in (1) and (2), respectively.

The red Fe2+-phenanthroline complex is the basis of a classical spectrophotometric method for determination of iron. Due to the toxicity of this complexing agent, direct disposal of the wastewaters generated in analytical laboratories is not environmentally safe. This work evaluates the use of the solar photo-Fenton process for the treatment of laboratory wastewaters containing phenanthroline. Firstly, the degradation of phenanthroline in water was evaluated at two concentration levels (0.1 and 0.01%, w/v) and the efficiencies of degradation using ferrioxalate (FeOx) and ferric nitrate were compared. The 0.01% w/v solution presented much higher mineralization, achieving 82% after 30 min of solar irradiation with both iron sources. The solar photo-Fenton treatment of laboratory wastewater containing, in addition to phenanthroline, other organic compounds such as herbicides and 4-chlorophenol, equivalent to 4500 mg L-1 total organic carbon (TOC) resulted in total degradation of phenanthroline and 25% TOC removal after 150 min, in the presence of either FeOx or ferric nitrate. A ratio of 1: 10 dilution of the residue increased mineralization in the presence of ferrioxalate, achieving 38% TOC removal after 120 min, while use of ferric nitrate resulted in only 6% mineralization over the same period. In this study, it is proposed to evaluate the anteroposterior position of mandible in children with Angle Class II, division 1 malocclusions, to compare two different methods of evaluating the jaw position and verifying the correlation between these two methods. We selected 26 Brazilian children with vertical growth pattern and Angle Class II, division 1 malocclusions, aged between 7 years and 8 months to 9 years and 6 months. The evaluation of the anteroposterior position of the mandible was performed with the use of lateral cephalograms by cephalometric angular SNB and linear Pog-Nperp. Based on the results obtained, it was concluded that the SNB identified more children with mandibular retrusion than Pog-Nperp; the increased tip of the SN plane may have decreased values of SNB; Pog-Nperp minimizes the possibility of error in the anteroposterior position of the mandible, since it eliminates the variable tip of the anterior skull base (SN plane); none of the cephalometric measurements used are able to eliminate the influence of the nasion point in the anterior-posterior and vertical position; correlation between SNB and Pog-Nperp is very low.
