The pre-slaughter moment begins with the animal´s loading on the farm and ends up in its drain. It is a period in which the animal is under physical stress caused by hunger, thirst, fatigue, injuries, and extremes of temperature and psychological stress, due to restraint, handling, innovation and fear. Stress and inappropriate handling bring bad consequences for the final product´s quality, requiring better handling conditions, facilities and equipment. Examples of consequences of mishandling: meat with abnormal color, DFD meat (dark, firm and dry), reduced product´s shelf life, bruises and broken bones in carcasses. The operators should be trained and oriented on the basic principles of biology, behavior and management of cattle. At every step of the pre-slaughter moment, the animals should be handled calmly and quietly to avoid excitement and stress. Operators should avoid shouting, whistling or any noise since cattle have very sensitive ears and can become stressed. If the animals refuse to move, the cause of the problem should be determined

This work was done a study to develop a model for definition of hours assembling planes, that were able to meet both the most complete plane, i.e. with the highest number of mounts but also that do not generate an idleness on the line when a plane less complex passing on the Assembly line. The proposed model has great advantages over the current model that the company has been using, as for example: leftover hand-to-hand for assembling airplanes only 10% than the current model raises and an expense to pay the human resource/time of only 6.7% compared with the current model at the company

Beside aging process comes the incidence of dementia and, among them Alzheimer's disease (AD) accounts for approximately 60% of cases. This disease is characterized as a neuropathology with unknown etiology that causes cognitive deficits and behavioral disorders. Caring for patients with AD can cause an overload, both physical and psychological, which can cause high levels of stress on the primary caregiver. It is necessary that the caregiver also receives attention and develop activities that promote health benefits, while providing moments of distraction from the task of caring. Nonpharmacological interventions may be favorable for improving health with consequent decreased on the levels of stress. The objective of this study was to conduct a systematic review of scientific papers that aimed to verify the effect of nonpharmacological interventions on stress levels in caregivers of patients with AD. To contamplate this goal was accomplished a systematic search in the following databases: Biological Abstracts, PsycINFO, PubMed/Medline, Web of Science, LILACS and SciELO. The following keywords and Boolean operators was used: “caregivers” OR “family” and “nonpharmacological interventions” OR “support groups” OR “therapies” AND “Alzheimer's disease” OR “Alzheimer's dementia” OR “Alzheimer” OR “elderly” AND “stress”. There were found 3studies that met inclusion criteria adopted for the present work, and none showed significant results for the variable stress. It is not possible to affirm, according to the studies, that nonpharmacologial interventions programs for caregivers of patients with AD are effective to influence and to control the stress. However, studies show benefits for other variables such as self-efficacy and confidence in relation to care... (Complete abstract click electronic access below)

The progress in radiology is related with the development of new systems of image formation with the lesser dose in the pacient. The improve of the dose in the pacient, without compromising the quality of the image, is one of the responsibilities of a medical physicist in a sector of diagnosis for image. This research has as objective to evaluate the conditions of use of an equipment of x-rays, from tests of quality control. The results gotten in this work have been part of data of an Effective Program of Quality Control (PECQ) of the sector of diagnosis for image of the Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina de Botucatu - UNESP (HCFMB-UNESP)

Currently the market share gains and complying fully with the demand in the market is considered essential for the companies survival against the competitors. This work aims to analyze the packing standardization as a strategy to increase production capacity. As result it was implemented a project to standardize the primary packaging of products offered, so it was possible to reduce inventory, increased productivity, improved workload of line operators and decrease the complexity of the planning of the primary packaging and production planning as well, all these factors contributing to cost reduction and increased competitiveness

In this paper, we present a discussion on the class of Discourse Markers (DMs), aiming at providing some specific contributions to studies on the grammaticalization of DMs. We highlight the fact that DMs do not constitute a grammatical class, and then we formulate a few insights on the adequacy of the notion of the “grammaticalization of DMs”.

In this paper, we analyze transvestites’ reports regarding their experiences at schools. It is a cartography that focuses on negative and positive aspects which call to consideration difficulties from the operators of the education in dealing with this population. Such cartography clarifies the urgent need for opening to a broaden debate to increase the educational actions in the perspective of the protection of the Sexual and Human Rights with strategies of inclusion and defense of citizenship. In spite of the transvestites’ difficulties in enduring and concluding their studies, it is possible to locate some schools in which the transvestites can be welcomed and respected in consideration to their personal choices. Thus, it clarifies the lines that composes their subjectivation processes.
