Esta obra rene trabalhos de pesquisadores de trs universidades pblicas brasileiras apresentados durante o I Colquio de Pesquisas do Ncleo de Estudos Agrrios da Unesp de Rio Claro, realizado em outubro de 2010. Organizada por Darlene Aparecida de Oliveira Ferreira, Enas Rente Ferreira e Adriano Corra Maia, pretende compreender a realidade agrria brasileira contempornea a partir de suas principais caractersticas, considerando o passado e o presente. A obra mostra que a diversidade espacial umas das marcas importantes do sistema, com o mundo rural organizado distintamente em contextos regionais e atrelando culturas a reas especficas. Por isso, os trabalhos tratam tambm de contextos espaciais historicamente construdos, dos quais emergem novos atores sociais ou se consolidam os detentores de estruturas passadas. As pesquisas identificam principalmente as caractersticas e as tendncias da geografia agrria no Brasil do incio do sculo XXI, os processos, como produo e migrao, os usos modernos do espao agrcola (como o turismo rural) e o papel atual das pequenas propriedades na agricultura brasileira.

OBJETIVO: Avaliar a evoluo metodolgica e do delineamento estatstico nas publicaes da Revista Brasileira de Ginecologia e Obstetrcia (RBGO) a partir da resoluo 196/96. MTODOS: Uma reviso de 133 artigos publicados nos anos de 1999 (65) e 2009 (68) foi realizada por dois revisores independentes com formao em epidemiologia clnica e metodologia da pesquisa cientfica. Foram includos todos os artigos clnicos originais, sries e relatos de casos, sendo excludos os editoriais, as cartas ao editor, os artigos de reviso sistemtica, os trabalhos experimentais, artigos de opinio, alm dos resumos de teses e dissertaes. Caractersticas relacionadas com a qualidade metodolgica dos estudos foram analisadas por artigo, por meio de check-list que avaliou dois critrios: aspectos metodolgicos e procedimentos estatsticos. Utilizou-se a estatstica descritiva e o teste do 2 para comparao entre os anos. RESULTADOS: Observa-se que houve diferena entre os anos de 1999 e 2009 no tocante ao desenho dos estudos e ao delineamento estatstico, demonstrando maior rigor nos respectivos procedimentos com o uso de testes mais robustos, relativamente, entre os anos de 1999 e 2009. CONCLUSES: Na RBGO, observou-se evoluo metodolgica dos artigos publicados entre os anos de 1999 e 2009 e aprofundamento nas anlises estatsticas com o uso de testes mais sofisticados, como o uso mais frequente das anlises de regresso e da anlise multinvel, que so tcnicas primordiais na produo do conhecimento e planejamento de intervenes em sade. Isso pode resultar em menos erros de interpretaes.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the integration of environmental issues in the context of manufacturing function/production (or operations), which is considered the organizational area that should lead corporate environmental management. We present a background on the greening of the manufacturing area, especially in terms of product development, process, quality management and logistics. Four case studies of Brazilian companies are presented as part of the study, and it is found that the maturity level of these companies' environmental management tends to follow the degree to which the environment has been inserted into subareas of production, especially in the process of product development. However, difficulties encountered in greening a company's logistics activities are also recognized in most cases. It is concluded that companies can overcome this challenge by adopting new concepts of green supply chain management. The notes highlight the observed distance between arguments in the international literature and the reality of Brazilian companies on the greening of manufacturing aspects.

The purpose of this article is to identify the contributions of Information Systems (IS) for environmental management practices, as well as the opportunities and challenges in this relation. Thus, we performed two case studies with Brazilian enterprises certified ISO 14001, by conducting interviews, document analysis and direct observation. As results, we present the identification of the main contributions of information systems for environmental management practices in the studied cases, the verification that a more advanced stage regarding IS is a factor that implies a more effective contribution, besides finding challenges and opportunities in this relation. The main contribution of this research consists of the presentation of a framework that identifies the support of information systems for environmental practices.

This research aims at analyzing the Brazilian scientific contribution on metric studies in the mainstream science through journals indexed in the Scopus basis, intending to visualize its insertion and international impact in the area. Mainly, to diachronically study the researches, the most productive authors and the scientific support network generated among them, as well as to identify the journals in which such production has been disseminated. It is based upon the three main target groups of current bibliometrics, as in Glnzels perspective (2003), and upon the impact of Brazilian researches in the international community through the citations received. Were found 263 articles and tables concerning the diachronical study and the highlighted researchers and journals were constructed analyzing the insertion in the target groups, the number of articles, number of citations and the average of citations. As results, researchers from the Federal Universities of Rio de Janeiro and So Paulo have stood out. All the researchers permeate the application of metric studies to several scientific areas, with emphasis on the health and biological sciences. The least contemplated researches were the ones whose objective was to develop and to discuss the bibliometrics as methodology, contributing to its on conceptual-theoreticalmethodological development, as well as those focusing on contributing, assessing and guiding scientific policies. We conclude by suggesting scientific and academic policies which motivate the researchers to publish in journals indexed in international bases in order to internationalize Brazilian science.

The Auditory Evoked Middle Latency Response is one of the most promising objective tests in audiology and in revealing brain dysfunction and neuro-audiologic findings. The main advantages of its clinical use are precision and objectivity in evaluating children. This study aimed to analyze the auditory evoked middle latency response in two patients with auditory processing disorder and relate objective and behavioral measures. This case study was conducted in 2 patients (P1 = 12 years, female, P2 = 17 years old, male), both with the absence of sensory abnormalities, neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders. Both were submitted to anamnesis, inspection of the external ear canal, hearing test and evaluation of Auditory Evoked Middle latency Response. There was a significant association between behavioral test and objectives results. In the interview, there were complaints about the difficulty in listening in a noisy environment, sound localization, inattention, and phonological changes in writing and speaking, as confirmed by evaluation of auditory processing and Auditory Evoked Middle Latency Response. Changes were observed in the right decoding process hearing in both cases on the behavioral assessment of auditory processing; auditory evoked potential test middle latency shows that the right contralateral via response was deficient, confirming the difficulties of the patients in the assignment of meaning in acoustic information in a competitive sound condition at right, in both cases. In these cases it was shown the association between the results, but there is a need for further studies with larger sample population to confirm the data.

In recent decades the rise of the tools of information and communication technology (ICT) has been notorious. Currently ICTs are an important educational tool and is associated with the development of teaching methods courses in basic and higher education. Given the influence that these tools are currently engaged in several sectors, this project aimed to assess the frequency and manifestations of ICT that have been employed in the teaching of histology in the Schools of Dentistry of So Paulo. The virtual page of 43 Higher Education Institutions (HEI) was analyzed to search for links to sites of histology. With this assessment only 4 virtual domains were found which was present a narrow range of virtual tools such as hypertext, graphics, quizzes and lessons in electronic formats. Later, by sending a questionnaire to 46 teachers of histology of the Universities of So Paulo, were analyzed for the presence or absence of a site of discipline, mode and frequency of use of ICTs in education, and the value that teacher attaches to these tools. From the responses obtained were concluded that teachers who have websites in general have no interactivite tools and many seem to ignore the real representation of interactivity in teaching and the possibilities of applications of ICTs. However most teachers recognize the importance of education mediated by virtual tools
