Considerações gerais sobre prótese fixa adesiva

The success rate of resin-bonded fixed partial dentures is directly related to the adhesive system and the tooth preparation design for good retention. These resin-bonded bridges represent a prosthodontic alternative, based on their costeffectiveness, conservative techniques, and ease of laboratory manufacturing. Through a thorough review of the literature, this study aimed to report on cavity designs, types of materials used, and the advantages and disadvantages of the resin-bonded fixed partial denture. One of significant advantages of the resin-bonded fixed partial dentures is the conservation of the tooth structure, whereas its main disadvantage includes aesthetic limitations, given that the alloy may in fact be visible. Preparation design, cement type, and casting alloy type, as well as surface treatment, are among the factors that influence the longevity of resin-bonded fixed partial dentures. Treatments with resin-bonded fixed partial dentures present a bright outlook regarding the conservation of tooth structures, as well as a high level of success.

Técnica estrutural: confecção de pilar personalizado cerâmico para otimizar a estética

Na reabilitação protética com implantes, a reconstituição das características anatômicas do tecido peri-implantar é fundamental para a obtenção de uma estética ótima. Como os componentes metálicos não transmitem a luz, fazem com que os pacientes com fenótipos gengivais finos apresentem uma coloração escurecida, resultante da limitação estética desses componentes. Pilares cerâmicos (alumina ou zircônia) têm sido utilizados para resolver esse problema, os quais possibilitam a complementação com próteses metal free. A indústria fornece, para alguns sistemas, componentes pré-fabricados cerâmicos a serem personalizados por desgastes e componentes personalizados confeccionados com sistemas CAD/CAM e CAD/MAN. Tendo em vista as limitações de algumas das conexões desses componentes, o objetivo desse estudo é apresentar a técnica laboratorial para confecção de um pilar personalizado cerâmico realizado sobre pilar UCLA de sobrefundição. Concluiu-se que a utilização da cerâmica feldspática proporciona ótima estética, boa transparência, resistência mecânica, baixo custo, melhor capacidade adesiva, com utilização de cimentos resinosos, e, principalmente, técnica de amplo domínio dos laboratórios.

Aspectos relevantes na sistematização das atividades recreativas: visão do profissional

Este estudo, de natureza qualitativa, teve por objetivo investigar os aspectos relevantes que direcionam a opção e a organização das atividades propostas durante as vivências com recreação, aplicadas no âmbito do lazer por profissionais coordenadores de hotéis, de acampamentos e atuantes do programa Super-férias oferecido pelo SESI (Sistema S, focalizando-se, especificamente, o SESI de Rio Claro). Para tanto, o estudo constituiu-se da união de pesquisa bibliográfica e pesquisa exploratória, durante a qual foi utilizada entrevista semi estruturada, como instrumento para coleta de dados. Os dados foram analisados descritivamente, por meio da técnica de Análise de Conteúdo Temático, tendo sido criados 3 eixos temáticos: Intervenção Profissional, Atividades Recreativas e Participantes. Os resultados apontam para a necessidade de um perfil geral e específico, para atuar com recreação, sendo que algumas características surgem como primordiais,como, pró atividade, responsabilidade e boa comunicação. Notou-se que existem carências na atuação profissional, às vezes, devido à qualificação, seja, em âmbito acadêmico, seja, dentro dos próprios estabelecimentos, que utilizam métodos de treinamento que ocasionam na perda dos aspectos pedagógicos inerentes às atividades, tendo em vista que, embora os elementos pedagógicos estejam presentes, eles não são compreendidos, pelos profissionais, em sua totalidade, tornando a atuação do profissional praticista. Quanto à elaboração de atividades recreativas, percebeu-se a presença de alguns valores educacionais, porém, nem sempre permeiam efetivamente durante a prática profissional. Notou-se ainda, nas atividades, a existência de estruturas básicas, com objetivos pré-estabelecidos, organização e execução planejados. Estudo da estabilidade da cirurgia do tipo sagital da mandíbula com vista a correção de deformidades faciais

This research evaluated the surgical stabilily in patients with mandibular prognathism and retrognathism in which was used sagital split technic to correct those detormities. Twelve patients were selected from the clinic of only one experienced surgeon. Six patients presenter a Class III 6 a Class II molar relationship. A comparative cefalometric analysis using linear and angular measurements was performed of pre-surgery, imediate pós-surgery and 1 year follow-up. The following conclusions were obtained. 1 The Dal Pont sagital split technic modified by Epker to correct mandibular prognathisn and retroghnatism is a stable technic and must be indicated to correct those deformities. 2 Small relapses are easily corrected by the post-surgical orthodontic treatment. 3 A small over correction is advised in cases of large mandibular advancements or set bascks. 4 In those cases which a large amount of mandibular retrusion on advancement need to be performed, a combination of maxillary and mandibular surgery should be used. Bacteriological quality of irrigation water from vegetable gardens in the municipalities of Araraquara, Boa Esperança do Sul and Ibitinga, SP

This work aimed to assess the bacteriological quality of water used in the irrigation of vegetable gardens in the municipalities of Araraquara, Boa Esperança do Sul and Ibitinga, São Paulo, Brazil. A total of 80 samples of water used in the irrigation of 40 vegetable gardens were analyzed, two samples coming from each vegetable garden. They were collected at the same site in different months, which resulted in two sample collection groups. The most probable number (MPN/100mL) of total coliforms, thermotolerant coliforms and enterococci was identifi ed by means of the multiple tube technique. The analysis of the fi rst group samples showed quantities of thermotolerant coliforms above the amount allowed by current law for irrigation water (CONAMA Resolution n. 357) in nine cases. The owners of those vegetable gardens were then instructed in water disinfection procedures. After the analysis of the second group samples, it was noticed that only one sample did not meet the quality standards, and it was collected at a site where no disinfection procedure had been carried out. According to the results, 77.5% of the vegetable gardens were using water whose samples meet the quality standards. After the owners were instructed with regard to disinfection procedures, that number changed to 97.5%, which confi rms the importance of controlling and supervising irrigation water quality

A liberdade de imprensa vista pelo Supremo Tribunal Federal: análise da ADPF n. 130

The present study aims to present and analyze the ruling of the Brazilian Supreme Court in ADPF 130 (Concentrated constitutional review action, Fundamental Precept Infringement, Argüição de Descumprimento de Preceito Fundamental), proposed by Partido Democrático Trabalhista (PDT), which contests the compatibility of statute 5.250/67 with the Federal Constitution of 1988. This work considers that the judicial ruling is different than the approach taken by the Legislative and Executive powers, arguing that there is, in the Judiciary, a peculiar way for ruling, surrounded by mysteries, rites, secrets, pomp and circunstances unintelligible to layman. To reach the proposed goal, Justice Carlos Brito´s report and opinion on ADPF 130 are analyzed. The choice of giving special attention to this opinion, which favors the declaration of unconstitutionality of the 5.250/67 statute, is justified in that it represents agreement with the allegation of disrespect to the constitutional text, as suggested by the Partido Democrático Trabalhista. The arguments put forth by the presiding Justice on his ruling will also be the object of consideration, as well as some possible consequences of the ruling.
