Intervalo: uma crítica à cidade segregada

Uma intrínseca característica da cidade de Bauru, São Paulo, é a descontinuidade de sua malha urbana, a qual gera conflitos muito maiores do que somente uma interrupção física. Logo, este Trabalho Final de Graduação (TFG) busca retratar que conflitos são estes presentes na cidade, tendo-se como premissa que tais não são apenas uma característica bauruense, mas próprios da formação das cidades. E então, através do desenho urbanístico e arquitetônico, busca-se aqui uma resposta projetual a um espaço da cidade de Bauru – intervalo presente entre os bairros Vila Falcão e Jardim Bela Vista – onde estes conflitos encontram-se concentrados, visando estabelecer conexões físicas e humanas onde tais relações sempre foram feitas de maneira precária

Una lapide in via Mazzini: os sofrimentos em Auschwitz e os desafios da tradução

Giorgio Bassani in his book Una lapide in via Mazzin seeks to show to the readers all the sufferings passed by Italians during the Second World War and emphasized those persists until today. Aiming to make an unprecedented translation of this tale, it is expected that the text provides us great experiences in the language and we could see the actual difficulties and differences with the Portuguese language, despite being considered these languages closed ones. The objective of this work is to produce a translation that allows us to transmit all anxieties and reflections suffered by the main character of the tale. After the war, the survivor of the concentration camp can go back to your city. He appears exactly at the moment is being placed a headstone on the synagogue wall in homage to Jews deported and killed in the camps. Given the gaunt figure of the man with his striped pajamas, the population is driven to rethink their own indifference and , in a way, its share of blame. Thus, the return should be celebrated is rejected and the figure of the survivor becomes a nuisance. The function of the headstone is actually and literally put a stone on the story. To achieve the proposed objective for this work, we analyzed all the chapters of the story Una lapide in via Mazzini and tried to find equivalents in Portuguese. However, we not ignored the traces of meaning that Giorgio Bassani invested in his work. Therefore, it was necessary to use both printed and virtual dictionaries. With the advancement of the translation work, we realized the difficulty of finding appropriate solutions to achieve the desired effect . The fidelity proposed by the author became increasingly difficult as our work progressed. In the course of all the discussions, it was concluded that , in fact , when it comes to translation, maintaining fidelity to the original text in a foreign language is a difficult and laborious process

Ichthyofaunistic studies aims to broad the knowledge of composition, abundance and distribution of species in certain areas, and when possible, to infer patterns of distribution, as well as extrinsic factors that affect these patterns in space and time. The Paranapanema River suffers the impact of the construction of hydroelectric power plants in cascade system along its main channel, changing the characteristics of lotic to lentic and semi-lentic. These changes affect the entire biocenosis and the surroundings of the reservoir and, in particular, the fish fauna. In this context, the aim of this study was to characterize the fish assemblage in two lakes and stretches of the main channel, located near the outfall of the Paranapanema River, Jurumirim reservoir area, comparing them to their composition and structure, using ecological indices as tools. Fish were caught every three months from April 2011 to January 2013, using gill nets of various mesh openings in four stretches: Environment 1 - Calha Sete Ilhas, Environment 2 - Calha Poço da Pedra, Environment 3 - Lagoa Sete Ilhas and Environment 4 - Lagoa Poço de Pedra. After the capture, the specimens were identified and biometric analysis was performed (total and standard length weight). We captured 4,006 individuals belonging to four orders and 34 species, 31 native species and three non-native species. In abundance (n) and number of species (S), there was a predominance of Characiformes (57 %) followed by Siluriformes (31%). Overall, most of the species was constant concerning the frequency of capture. The five most representative species in abundance were Schizodon intermedius, Cyphocarax modestus, Pimelodus maculatus, Hoplosternum littorale and Serrasalmus maculatus, contributing with 60% of total individuals captured. Director Luiz Fernando Carvalho’s artistic performances, specially the miniseries Hoje é dia de Maria (2005), A Pedra do Reino (2007) and Capitu (2008), target a true setting of commitment, preoccupation and conciliation towards its spectator’s education. And the purpose of this text is to talk about such reeducation of senses explored by Carvalho’s artistic performances.

Morte na antilírica de João Cabral de Melo Neto

The critic João Alexandre Barbosa, points in the work Agrestes (1981-1985), of the Brazilian poet João Cabral de Melo Neto, the presence of individualized death. Thus way, this study proposes to analyse the meanings of lyrism and first-person enunciations, in the work Agrestes, a trace gradually eliminated from Cabral’s discursive field since his first work, Pedra do Sono (1940-1). These elements will clash with João Cabral’s poetics, previously based on the selection of voices and artistic practices consistent with his compositional method, with rigorous sorting values and elimination of any subjectivism. To understand this inconsistency, we propose studying the last part of the work Agrestes, entitled “A indesejada das gentes”, a place where the theme of death is recurrent, as well as the presence of enunciators to set out, even to reveal its feelings about aging and death. The analytical procedure should research the hypothesis of rupture of the inflexible tone of João Cabral’s speech that would follow in respect to the poetic project, a reverse path, starting from objective poetry in the direction of subjective poetry.

Desgaste superficial do esmalte dental após microabrasão in vitro

The aim of this study was to investigate the enamel wear permanent teeth after plastic stick or low speed rubber cup microabrasion. Ten permanent molars were selected to evaluate enamel wear which were sectioned into mesial and distal halves. Each half of the molars was randomly assigned to one of two experimental groups (n = 10) according to the enamel microabrasion technique: plastic stick (GE) or rubber cup (GT). In both the groups, the enamel was submitted to 10 applications of an abrasive paste comprised of 35% phosphoric acid and pumice powder. The paste was applied for 20 seconds under a pressure of 30 g using the instrument defined for each group (plastic stick or rubber cup). The specimens were evaluated under a stereomicroscope connected to a computer. The enamel wear no was statistically different between GE and GT, which presented a mean wear of 304.74 µm (21.20%) and 338.35 µm (22.75%). In conclusion, superficial enamel wear was seen for both the groups, independent of the technique used for the accomplishment of the microabrasion.

The objective of this study was to assess if the positioning of the impression tray could cause plaster casts distortion during gypsum setting time. fifteen pairs of master models were cast with alginate impression material and immediately poured with gypsum. impressions were allowed to set with the tray in the not inverted position (group a) or in the inverted position (group b). the plaster models were digitized using a laser scanner (3shape r-700, 3shape a/s). tooth size measurements and distances were obtained using o3d software (widialabs, brasil) measurement tools. data were analyzed by paired t test and linear regression with 5% significance. most measurements of both groups were similar, except for the lower intermolar distance. it was not possible to corroborate the presence of distortions owing to the position of the impression tray during gypsum setting time.

Redução do medo durante o tratamento odontológico utilizando pontas ultrassônicas

Over the last few years, new technologies have been developed to making cavity preparations, among which the diamond burs CVDentus® (CVDentus, São José dos Campos, Brazil) are outstanding. These points are produced by chemical deposition from the vapor phase, forming a single diamond stone, with greater durability than the conventional diamond burs. Coupled to the ultrasound appliance, they have several clinical applications in Dentistry with advantages over conventional rotary instruments, such as lower pressure, noise, vibration and heat, as well as reducing the need to use local anesthesia, contributing to minimize patient’s fear and anxiety. The aim of this study was to present the complete restorative dental treatment performed with this system in a child patient with a prior history of non-cooperative behavior. The use of this new technology offered the patient greater comfort, making it possible recondition the patient’s attitude to dental treatment, in addition to favoring conservative cavity preparations to be made.

Desenvolvimento, implantação e avaliação do desempenho de biorreator anaeróbico de leito fluidizado e leito fixo com filtros biológicos em materiais diversos

This study aimed to develop, implement and evaluate the performance of a new type of bioreactor for anaerobic treatment of wastewater using different filling materials like trickling filters post-reactor. This bioreactor has mixed characteristics of the UASB reactors and horizontal flow from the point of view of removal of BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) ssed (settled solids), TS (Total Solids), SS (Suspended Solid), SD (Dissolved Solids) and turbidity. The experimental model consists of a bioreactor with a volume of 12 m³, 2/3 filled by fluidized bed and 1/3 for fixed. The fluidized bed is made of polystyrene plates used as a system percolation and compartmentalized trickling filters, where each compartment was filled with a support medium with different characteristics (gravel number 4, plastic rings of polystyrene, PET and HDPE) . In addition, the output of a filter system was installed three entries filled with activated carbon. The bioreactor was installed in private residence in the city of Igarapava-SP (20° 02'40.18"S and 47° 45'01.36" W). The system was highly efficient as the removal of organic contaminant load 92% on average reducing the BOD, a significant result when compared to other anaerobic systems. For the other parameters, the mean reduction was 96% for turbidity, 99% ssed, 67.5% ST, 57% SD and 88% of SS. As for its operation the system was capable of operating in continuous flow without the need for maintenance during the entire period of evaluation and without energy, as it operates taking advantage of the natural slope of the terrain where it is installed. The environmental impacts were minimized due to the preservation of local vegetation allowing the ecosystem to remain unchanged beyond the prototype was completely sealed preventing exhalation of odors and therefore not causing inconvenience to neighboring populations. Given these facts it was concluded that the prototype is shown to be highly feasible deployed as a new alternative for treatment of sewage in rural and urban settings (individual homes, condos, farms, ranches, etc.) Due to ease of design and operability, and sustainability at all stages of execution.
