The objective of this work was collect information of articles published previously and carry out a study about them, including contents and interesting stuff that bring growth regarding the construction residues utilization and demolition (RCD), that today provides many environmental impacts. The need of utilization of the RCD in Brazil and in the world earned bigger attention world speaking, therefore the industry of the civil construction is had as one of the biggest present residues output springs. For it present a point that can be applied the RCD, is discussed in that work the kinds and structures of floors, where are presented the layers and, finally, a short argument about the possible and economic feasabilities job of the residues recycled in some layers of the structure of floor

The small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) technique has been used with very much versatility and success in the structural characterization of nanostructured materials. The present work deals with a study of the principles of the SAXS technique and of some classical models employed in the structural characterization of nanostructured materials. Particularly, the study of the models and of the associated methodologies is applied to a set of samples of silica gels, of varied typical structures, prepared in the Laboratório de Novos Materiais of the Departamento de Física of the IGCE. The work discusses in an introductory chapter the principles of the SAXS technique and the foundation of classical models often used in the structural characterization of materials. The classical models and the associated methodologies were applied to a variety of silica gel structures. The studies include: i) the scattering from a system of particles - Guinier's law; ii) the asymptotic scattering from a two-phase system - Porod's law; iii) systematic deviation from Porod's law - Surface Fractal; iv) heterogeneities in solids with random size distribution - DAB Model; and v) the scattering from mass fractal structures. The analyses were carried out from experimental SAXS data obtained in several opportunities at the Laboratório Nacional de Luz Síncrotron (LNLS)

Airplane Motor Cradles have a complex geometry, since they require different conbinations between different tubes and TIG welded in several angles. In T-25 aircraft and Universal T-27 Tucano (EMBRAER / FAB), besides having to bear the engine balance, these components maintain fixed the nose landing gear in another extremity. They are considered critical to flight safety, and for this reason, the aviation standards are extremely rigid in their production, imposing a zero index” of defects on the final weld metal quality. These structures may be containing an historical of welding repairs, whose effects on their structural integrity are not computed. In this work we analyzed the standardised AISI 4130 steel and the raw steel of tubes to the Airplane Motor Cradles. First of all, microscopy and microanalysis of the base steel, then we analyzed the effects of the TIG weld. Tensile testing was conducted to measure the difference between the mechanical properties of standardised steel and without this treatment

The goal of this work is to study the process of interaction of protons with matter through Monte Carlo simulation. For this purpose, it was employed the SRIM program (Stopping and Range of Ions in Matter ) and MCNPX (Monte Carlo N-Particle eXtended) v2.50. This work is going to support the development of a tomography system with protons. It was studied the interaction of proton with the follow materials: Polimethyl Mehacralate (PMMA), MS20 Tissue Substitute and water. This work employed energies in range of 50 MeV and 250 MeV, that is the range of clinical interest. The energy loss of proton after cross a material layer, the decreasing of its intensity, the angular and lateral de ection of incident beam, including and excluding nuclear interactions. This work is related with Medical Physics and Material Physics, like interaction of radiation with matter, particle transport phenomena, and the experimental methods in Nuclear Physics like simulation and computational by Monte Carlo method

The project aims to develop ceramic compounds with gradients of the mechanical properties, using the molding technique with commercial starches. To understand the process of interaction between starch and ceramic powders, the proposed methodology involves viscometry tests (up to 200 °C). Viscometric assays were carried out with slurries of alumina, titania and aluminum titanate with potato starch, cassava and corn. The specimens were tested for dilatometry, thermomechanical, thermal shock, mechanical and characterization by SEM. The ceramic powders and starches were analyzed using the optical microscope to measure the size of these. It was made of th kinetics of starch gelatinization and titania with the cornstarch in theoptical microscope to observe how the grains of starch behaved in welling

Atualmente observa-se uma diminuição no consumo de verduras entre os brasileiros, especialmente na região norte e nordeste do país, entre jovens e aos estratos sociais de baixa escolaridade. Entretanto, o consumo de verduras forma a base de excelência para uma alimentação saudável além de ser indispensável no dia-a-dia. Dentre as verduras de destaque encontram-se a couve-manteiga e o almeirão, que são verduras baratas, amplamente disponíveis no país e que contam com a presença de diferentes tipos de antioxidantes. Antioxidantes são compostos bioativos que possuem múltiplas propriedades, mas que se destacam pelo seu potencial de óxido-redução e por sua capacidade de competir por sítios ativos e receptores de estruturas celulares. Esses mecanismos estão descritos como sendo moduladores da resposta inflamatória, além de serem preventivos de várias condições e doenças. Incluem-se nessa classe os compostos fenólicos, que são produtos do metabolismo secundário dos vegetais e têm sua atividade devido a interação com espécies radicalares, tendo como um dos seus principais componentes os flavonoides, que são metabólitos secundários da classe dos polifenois, tendo seu consumo relacionado a diminuição do risco de doenças coronarianas e alguns tipos de câncer. O objetivo desse trabalho foi avaliar o efeito de quatro diferentes processos de cozimento (microondas, cozimento a vapor, cozimento em água fervente e fritura a óleo), em duas verduras de grande consumo no Brasil, em relação as quantidades de ácido ascórbico, acidez, compostos fenólicos totais, flavonoides totais e atividade sequestrante de radicais livres e verificar qual melhor método de cozimento que mantenha esses compostos. Os resultados obtidos demonstram que não há uma uniformidade nas alterações...

The albendazole and mebendazole drugs are benzimidazole derivatives and belong to the anthelmintic class. These drugs are particularly recommended for the treatment against worms present in the gastrointestinal tract of animals and humans, by acting directly on the worm metabolism. The need for thermally study drugs is related to all the parameters that these analyzes include: presence or absence of polymorphs, possible changes in the crystallinity of the drugs, as well as the quality control during the manufacturing process thereof. In this study the thermal behavior of anthelmintic albendazole and commercial mebendazole and its recrystallisation in organic solvents, such as acetic acid and formic acid in dimethylformamide to mebendazole, and albendazole were studied using TG-DSC techniques, TG-FTIR, FTIR and XRD. TG-DSC techniques were used so it could collect information about the thermal stability of the compounds steps for thermal decomposition process and also prove its melting temperature. For recrystallization of drugs in organic solvents, the TG-DSC curves were analyzed to compare and determine that the occurrence of polymorphs. The coupled TG-FTIR technique allowed the analysis of volatile products which were released during the thermal decomposition of the commercial mebendazole. The absorption spectroscopy in the infrared region was performed to mebendazole, and albendazole in order to show the difference in functional groups of both, comparing the spectra with commercial drugs and see if there was recrystallized changes in the absorption band where the drug was recrystallized or when heated. The diffraction technique by powder X-ray method was used for comparison of the crystal structures of commercial drugs and recrystallization in organic solvents to identify changes in crystallinity both, which might suggest the formation of polymorphs
