Representações de gênero na prática de enfermagem na perspectiva de estudantes

This study’s main goal was to investigate the representations of nursing students about the work of a nurse in a gender perspective, during the training process. The research used a sample of 41 nursing students (1st and 9th semesters) being applied to such a questionnaire, analyzed in the face of the organizer model concept, and also the critics studies of gender. Was found the research data, one is able to notice that, students that start off their academic lives in the nursing course have less stereotyped representations regarding gender behavior and certain problematization concerning the sexual division of the profession. When it comes to training, from the moment in which these students begin to live with the nursing practices, that are impregnated with stereotypes, in different contexts, the vision that once was considered generalizing, becomes crystallized, delimiting the practices that exist in nursing. The data points out to the need of the training courses to embark a problematization on the gender relations in the context of the nursing practices, given the fact they seem to reinforce standards, neglecting an egalitarian democratic and professional action in the professional field.

Meaning of aromatherapy massage in mental health

Objective: To understand the meaning of the aromatherapy massage intervention in mental health for the patient during psychiatric hospitalization.Methods: A qualitative study including 22 participants with a diagnosis of personality disorder hospitalized in a psychiatric unit of a general hospital. We used semi-structured interviews with a guiding question for participants, for whom the aromatherapy massage intervention was performed. The content of the interviews was assessed according to content analysis.Results: Among the study subjects, there was a predominance of females and the majority presented a diagnosis of Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder. Two categories that emerged were identified from qualitative data: "Identifying the benefits of aromatherapy" and "Enabling self-knowledge."Conclusion: The meaning of the aromatherapy massage intervention was represented by improvements in nursing care and treatment during psychiatric hospitalization, while assisting in the reduction of anxiety symptoms and coping with mental illness.

The present study is a qualitative research supported by Paulo Freire's writings. It presents the structure of a discipline-Nursing Teaching Practice-which searches for an amplification of opportunities provided by the Nursing School in order to improve the student's consciousness of his/her role as a future educator.

Intervenções com a atividade física em crianças e adolescentes com deficiência intelectual: uma meta-análise

Abstract Intellectual disability is development atypical conditions that involve issues on a number of factors, such as intellectual skills, adaptive behavior, interactions and social roles. Furthermore, they report higher rates of physical inactivity than the general population, as well as participating less and less of regular physical activity, as they grow and age. The participation of people with intellectual disabilities in physical activity programs promotes, benefits of prevention of diseases, particularly cardiovascular, improvement of intellectual and cognitive ability in addition, regular physical activity promotes reduction of body fat. Therefore the aim of this study was to identify through a systematic review, physical activity programs for adults with intellectual disabilities and their extension of the benefits, limitations and recommendations, moreover, the following objectives: to analyze the types of physical activity programs and determine which is the most suitable for adults with intellectual disabilities, and to determine the benefits that physical exercises programs entail for adults with intellectual disabilities. The initial electronic search resulted in 2808 manuscripts. The predetermined exclusion criteria were: review process of the studies involved reading titles, abstracts and full texts checking. After all these phases, eight manuscripts met the inclusion criteria of the review. Articles presented participants aged between 18 and 67 years with mild to moderate intellectual disability. The intervention period was from 2.5 months studies ranged up to 9 months and the weekly frequency was from one to three times a week. Protocolos de saúde geral e bucal de enfermagem em radioterapia de câncer de cabeça e pescoço: uma revisão comentada

O câncer é um problema de saúde pública mundial, com destaque para a incidência do câncer de cabeça e pescoço, em função da biologia das lesões, custo do tratamento, acompanhamento e ônus social. Seus tratamentos mais utilizados como a cirurgia e radioterapia, apresentam sérios efeitos colaterais de curto e longo prazo, cujo é são complexo. As principais orientações e cuidados no tratamento do câncer de cabeça e pescoço foram obtidos através de revisão de literatura sistemática em bases de dados públicas. O objetivo desta revisão de literatura foi mostrar os principais cuidados na prevenção e tratamento das sequelas da radioterapia desse tipo de câncer. Nesse particular, observa-se a necessidade de um protocolo de enfermagem-odontologia, visto a complexidade e a falta de direcionamento das normas do Sistema Único de Saúde, além da responsabilidade dos cuidados desses pacientes, que ficam a cargo da equipe de saúde, atendendo as suas reais necessidades, tanto pessoais, psicológicas e fisiológicas.

Problemas ergonômicos enfrentados por profissionais de enfermagem em ambientes hospitalares: aspectos da interface trabalhadores x equipamentos

The ergonomic design seeks to establish parameters to improve the interface between the technologies (products, systems and environments) and between man (users). Among the many factors involved, there are the activities performed in hospital settings, both by patients and by clinical staff. Accordingly, efforts have been demonstrated biomechanical with a leading occupational problem, especially regarding the transfer of patients.
