Apesar de inmeros estudos e pesquisas relatarem os benefcios da atividade fsica na qualidade do sono, pode-se observar que quando tratamos do esporte, principalmente o esporte de alto rendimento, seus praticantes nem sempre apresentam a mesma qualidade. Aspectos como estresse, medo, excesso de cargas de treinamento e, principalmente, a ansiedade podem alterar os padres do ciclo sono-viglia e diminuir a qualidade do sono, podendo provocar grandes prejuzos na performance durante provas e competies. A presena de torcida, pais ou amigos em competies ou jogos, a participao de peneiras ou o simples fato de ser ou no convocado para o jogo, at a obrigao da vitria, a presso exercida por tcnicos e patrocinadores, entre outras caractersticas do esporte de rendimento, so contribuintes da apario do sentimento ansioso. Alguns autores discutem a possibilidade de que esse sentimento apresenta-se com graus diferenciados entre atletas de modalidades individuais e coletivas. Nos esportes individuais, os atletas no compartilham responsabilidades, expondo-se sozinhos a uma avaliao direta dos expectadores, gerando uma presso desproporcional demonstrao de excelncia na performance. A partir disso, o objetivo deste estudo foi investigar a presena de alteraes no sono de atletas, considerando a modalidade em que esto inseridos (individual ou coletiva) e suas possveis diferenas. A pesquisa compreendeu um estudo de campo em adotamos os procedimentos das pesquisas qualitativas. Foi utilizado um questionrio avaliando a percepo subjetiva da qualidade do sono de atletas das modalidades: handebol masculino, atletismo masculino, voleibol feminino e ginstica artstica feminina. Os resultados encontrados levam especulao de que existem alteraes na qualidade do sono dos atletas principalmente nas noites que antecedem competies ...(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrnico abaixo)

This paper aims to base the thesis that the varied currents of the post-modern thought, in so far as have recourse to relativism to a greater or lesser degree, contribute to the legitimation of the religious education in public schools and, in a broader aspect, the religion in the public spaces. The methodological resource used to demonstrate the link between post-modern thought and religious education is the analysis at the historical and dialectical materialism perspective of publications produced to increase teachers on this discipline that is, in compliance with the Constitution, optional for students and mandatory for public elementary schools. The subject of this analysis is the learning content and has as prime concern to highlight the discourse of legitimation recurrent in authors when it is explicit in itself and explicit when it does not. The religious education in public schools as object of study allows us to understand the relationship between the post-modern thought, with its hegemony space within the human sciences and contextualized in the neoliberal economic environment, and the learning to learn pedagogies currently hegemonic in the educational landscape. We intend to contribute to the legal debate on laity, the philosophical debate on post-modernism and especially to the debate on the pedagogical theories in the educational fundaments.

The present article aims to elaborate an objective analytical panel, initially from the 1920- 1930 when Luiz Igncio Romeiro de Anhaia Mello, cathedratic in the urban question, started to quote a series of authors and American plans as references to their reflections, mainly when the point was the verticalization or not at So Paulo City. From a broad bibliographic research with the systematization of the register from the debate between Anhaia Mello, this article intends to point out how the transposition of the urbanistic conceptions to the academic environment happened and, at the same time, the legal normatization of the So Paulo City that resulted in the creation of a draft of the regulations for use and occupation of the soil. The systematizations and analysis were based in a broad reading of the bibliography and documental sources that refer to the proposed theme. The books of the library of FAU-USP, specifically the one from SAGMACS Sociedade de Anlises Grficas e Mecanogrficas Aplicadas aos Complexos Sociais ( Society of Graphical Mechanical-Graphic Analysis Applied to Social Complexes) -, aiming to select papers and the collection of Anhaia Mellos family, so that a reconstruction of the intellectual and professional journey of the Urbanism Professor. The systematization of the collected data and posterior comparison with the bibliographical study was fundamental for the reconstruction of the reflection of Anhaia Mello about the ways of the urban streets and roads at Sao Paulo City should be lead to on the middle of the XX century having as a guideline the debate between Anhaia Mello very common on the 1950s for less important countries when dealing with the organization of the size of industrial metropolis. It was possible to identify the crystallization of one urbanistic proposal for the city: the from Anhaia Mello, that bet on the reversion of the metropolitan cycle by stopping the urban growth by the application of the theoretical conception of the garden city.

Introduction: Bruxism has been defined as an oral parafunctional activity that includes clenching and/or grinding the teeth while asleep or awake. In addition to sleep bruxism (SB), various other orofacial movements sporadically occur during sleep. Occasional regurgitation and heartburn due to gastroesophageal reflux (GER) are frequent in the general population. GER refers to the presence of symptoms that are secondary to the reflux of gastric content through the esophagus with or without signs of esophageal mucosal lesions. Dentists are often the first health care professionals to diagnose GER through observation of its oral manifestation. Objective: The aim of the present case reports was to discuss the diagnosis and clinical procedures followed in two patients with SB and GER, thereby contributing to the dissemination of knowledge about these two entities. We therefore recommend dentists to be alert to identifying the first signs of GER that appear in the oral cavity. Conclusion: At this point, we highlight the importance of treating the patient as a whole, in an endeavor to identify other sources of the problems that could contribute as factors aggravating these conditions.

A good night sleep is part of a healthy lifestyle. However, children and adolescents replace sleeping hours by several other activities. This project aimed to disseminate information about sleeping and stimulate some reflections about the risk factors to health arising frompersonal and collective habits. A group of 1014 junior high school students from five schools in the city of Assis-SP, participated in the project. The students visited an exhibition about the theme "sleeping and health" and took part of group assignments. Issues related to sleeping and alternatives to promote healthy sleeping habits in day-life context were discussed. The activities were planned and executed by six trainees under the supervision of the responsible teacher. The majority of the visitors reported pleasure (90% of students) and interest in the subject; (85%) enjoyed learning new information about it (93%). Among the activities performed, 25% of visitors particularly enjoyed playful educational activities, 19% the oral presentation and 23% all the activities without distinction. Group discussion on everyday situations encouraged the adolescents to reevaluate previous experiences and knowledge that were not always consistent with current scientific knowledge. Undergraduate students had a rich practical opportunity that stimulated them to create health education strategies for adolescents. Some adolescents got more involved in the activities and others were more stimulated by the change of school routine. The activities were feasible and can be designed according to the target public. Certainly individual experience was sporadic and we suggest that future projects might be improved by stimulating bigger schools and more teachers to participate.

Identificar fatores de risco para complicaes respiratrias aps adenotonsilectomia em crianas 12 anos com apneia obstrutiva do sono encaminhadas UTI peditrica (UTIP). Estudo de coorte histrica com corte transversal que analisou 53 crianas aps adenotonsilectomia que preencheram os critrios pr-estabelecidos para encaminhamento UTIP em um hospital escola de nvel tercirio. Foram utilizados o teste t de Student, o teste de Mann-Whitney e o teste do qui-quadrado para identificar os fatores de risco. Das 805 crianas submetidas adenotonsilectomia entre janeiro de 2006 e dezembro de 2012 no hospital escola, 53 foram encaminhadas UTIP. Vinte e uma crianas (2,6% do total de submetidas adenotonsilectomia e 39,6% das que foram encaminhadas UTIP) apresentaram complicaes respiratrias, sendo 12 do gnero masculino e a idade mdia de 5,3 2,6 anos. Maior ndice de apneia-hipopneia (IAH; p = 0,0269), maior ndice de dessaturao de oxignio (IDO; p = 0,0082), baixo nadir da SpO2 (p = 0,0055), maior tempo de intubao orotraqueal (p = 0,0011) e rinopatia (p = 0,0426) foram preditores independentes de complicaes respiratrias. Foram observadas complicaes respiratrias menores (SpO2 entre 90-80%) e maiores (SpO2 80%, laringoespasmos, broncoespasmos, edema agudo de pulmo, pneumonia e apneia). Em crianas de at 12 anos e com apneia obstrutiva do sono, aquelas que tm maior IAH, maior IDO, menor nadir da SpO2 e/ou rinopatia so mais predispostas a desenvolver complicaes respiratrias aps adenotonsilectomia do que aquelas sem essas caractersticas.
