The expansion of the no-tillage system, in Brazil, has increasingly diversified the ways in which the production methods are established and managed. This study aimed at evaluating the influence of preceding crops such as mayze and Urochloa ruziziensis, as well as their intercropping, in the presence and absence of seed inoculation with Azospirillum brasilense, and the cover nitrogen supplying on common bean development, production components and grain yield. The study was carried out in Selvíria, Mato Grosso do Sul State, Brazil, in the 2011/2012 crop season. The experimental design was randomized blocks, with four replications, in a 8x4 factorial scheme, with treatments consisting of a combination of cover crops (associations of mayze, U. ruziziensis and A. brasilense) and cover nitrogen doses on common bean (0 kg ha-1, 30 kg ha-1, 60 kg ha-1 and 90 kg ha-1). The preceding crops affected the common bean grain yield, with the mayze and Urochloa intercropping, both inoculated, being the best option. The initial common bean population was not affected by previous crops. The cover nitrogen application did not affect the common bean grain yield under winter irrigation, for the no-tillage system.

The objective of this work was to evaluate the effects of the inoculation with plant growth-promoting bacteria on the formation of sugarcane pre-sprouted seedlings, originated from individual buds, and to quantify the initial growth of these seedlings in association with nitrogen application, in a low fertility soil. Two experiments were carried out: one in greenhouse conditions, with a time span of 50 days, and the other in vases under field conditions, with a time span of 180 days. In both experiments, a randomized complete block design was used with a factorial arrangement of 2x3, in the first experiment - with or without inoculation, and with three quantities of bud reserve -, and of 2x2x4, in the second one - with or without inoculation, with or without nitrogen, evaluated in four times: at 45, 90, 135, and 180 days. The inoculant had effect on the initial growth of the pre-sprouted seedlings, increasing sprouting speed and dry matter accumulation on roots and shoots, regardless of the bud reserve amount. In the second experiment, the inoculant increased the initial growth of shoots and root system up to 180 days after transplantation, increasing height, tillering, stalk diameter, dry matter production of stalks and straw, and root length, regardless of nitrogen application. The inoculant has a positive physiological effect on plant growth.

Este trabalho objetivou avaliar a seletividade dos herbicidas diuron+hexazinone, azafenidin+hexazinone, metribuzin e isoxaflutole aplicados em pós-emergência inicial e tardia das plantas de cana-de-açúcar, variedade RB835089, na época da estiagem, em soqueira de quarto corte, após colheita com queima prévia do canavial, em Araras, SP. O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos casualizados com testemunhas pareadas, com cinco tratamentos e quatro repetições, existindo uma testemunha capinada para cada tratamento químico dentro de cada bloco. Os tratamentos foram: diuron+hexazinone (1.170+330 g ha-1), azafenidin+ hexazinone (192,5+247,5 g ha-1), metribuzin (1.920 g ha-1), isoxaflutole (127,5 g ha¹) e testemunha capinada. Concluiu-se que os herbicidas foram mais fitotóxicos quando aplicados na pós-emergência tardia. em pós-emergência inicial, as plantas recuperaram-se totalmente dos efeitos fitotóxicos dos herbicidas. Na pós-emergência tardia, azafenidin+hexazinone, isoxaflutole e diuron+hexazinone prejudicaram o índice de fluorescência e a produtividade agrícola.
