Desenvolvimento econômico e desigualdade social: um estudo sobre os aspectos sociais presentes na obra de Raúl Prebisch

This study aims to conduct an analysis on the social aspects present in the works of the Argentine economist Raúl Prebisch (1901-1986). Based on the author's research on the economic development of the peripheral countries, it will be demonstrated how the social and economic factors have interconnected in the developmental theory of the peripheral worldwide economy. To achieve this goal, the six works of Prebisch considered essentials by Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) were used as main bibliographic axis. Such texts are: Introduction to Keynes, The Economic Development of Latin America and Its Principal Problems, Economic development or monetary stability: the false dilemma, Towards a Dynamic Development Policy for Latin America, .Change and Development: Latin America's Great Task, Capitalismo periférico: crisis y transformación, Five stages in my thinking on development. Firstly the topics essential to economic development according to the author will be exposed, such as industrialization of peripheral countries as a means of raising the income of masses and the way it should be coordinated beyond the theoretical author's choice on historical events, the evolution of the deterioration of terms of trade between peripheral and central countries and the need for productivity gains to increase the income of the worker. Afterwards it will be exposed how such terms align with social inequalities and which definitions are incorporated by the author on the subject

Sobre o pensamento bakhtiniano: uma recepção de recepções

There are several receptions of the Bakhtinian work: those which situate it in a cultural and historical perspective, making it possible to understand the context inherent to it, the interchanges with which it was instituted and its development paths; those which separately take one or other of its ideas, and those which search to infer a less or more systemized framework from it in order to consider a specific object. When we concentrate on those last ones and on the field of studies about language, we examine the receptions of the Bakhtinian thought as a pragmatics, a sociolinguistics, a semiotics, a social theory, a theory of the discourse. The perspective of this branch of instruction is the one on which we lastly focus in order to reflect upon some of its fundamental basis.

This research aims to discuss aspects of the thought of John R. Commons regarding their engagement with the reform of capitalism. He focuses on his interpretation of the socioeconomic context of American capitalism, which led him to distance himself from the Marxist revolutionary praxis and the authoritarian reformism offered by the variant of European fascism. Based on extensive literature review, the research rebuild through a historical and theoretical context, his thinking and show the evolution of his ideas throughout his life. Recreating the terms in which Commons defended his reformist project, called him reasonable capitalism.

The o bjective of this dissertation is to present a theoretical essay on the importance of makeup in the creation of characters through the review of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, a movie directed by David Fincher based on a short-story by F. Scott Fitzgerald. This thesis makes an historica loverview of makeup, including a discussion on its evolution and importance to visual arts, as a background to the analyses of the proposed movie

O herói clássico e a indústria cultural: a abordagem dos mitos pelo cinema

Esse trabalho aborda a forma como os heróis são retratados atualmente no cinema pela indústria cultural e como se dá a divergência em relação aos heróis clássicos dos mitos gregos. O mito grego adotado como parâmetro para comparação e análise é o que narra a trajetória de Ulisses de volta para a ilha de Ítaca. O filme atual sobre o qual se desenvolve o estudo comparativo do herói no cinema é Capitão América - O Priemiro Vingador, adaptação dos quadrinhos da Marvel para o cinema em 2011, pelo diretor Joe Johnston. Not intending to exhaust the subject, we will attempt to show the issue status in the construction of the History of Mass Media. An initial literature review, in order to identify works relating to the subject, shows us how this issue has gone unnoticed in Academy. Expert authors in the history of every media outlet (newspaper, radio, television, movies, and more recently, internet) have been rising, but few have faced the challenge of building a History of Media. There are many reasons to justify this. It comes from the fact it is a young science, in construction, to the absence of a clear definition regarding the subject matter, sources, and methods of their own area of expertise. After all, journalism and film, for example, can be inserted in the same methodological procedure?

A importância da arte como meio de reciclagem e como formação de um novo pensamento ambiental

The question related to recyclable material has been pointed by environmental researchers as one of the most serious urban problems today. Therefore, the importance of disclosure and clarification related to recycling techniques is highlighted, as well as a critical and extensive reflection related to the cultural values of society about current economic rationality that prioritizes a unlimited consumerism. We conducted a survey in the city of Bauru and asked how often people separated recyclable materials for selective collection. We found that 18% of these people have never performed this type of activity. Thus we emphasize the importance of art in creating alternative ways of dealing with the recyclable material, that involves social, economic and cultural needs of a population; contributing to preserve the environment such as the creation of a new rationality.

Glauber Rocha e a dimensão do confronto de ideias na cena midiática: estudo das estratégias do jovem crítico de cinema no Jornal da Bahia no final dos anos 1950

In late 1950, the young Glauber Rocha, still without having directed any of his films, becomes the main cultural critic of the Jornal da Bahia in Salvador, Bahia. His film critic activity falls within the symbolic local disputes and his texts published become an active voice in the cultural field of Bahia. With a considerable apparatus of the press in his favor, the performance of the young critic Glauber Rocha allows to discuss: the role of public intellectual and media production and dissemination of ideas by the newspapers at the turn of the 1950s to the 1960s, a time of intense political, social and cultural changes in Brazil.
