Disfunção temporomandibular na visão de profissionais e acadêmicos de odontologia

This paper presents the results of an applied qualitative study with dental students and professionals who work with people suffering from temporomandibular disorder. The aim was to investigate the way that dental practitioners and students perceive patients affected by this disorder, how they feel faced with the patients' suffering, and the importance they assign to a multidisciplinary approach, highlighting the treatments used. It is noteworthy that various factors are involved in the temporomandibular disorder framework, including emotional factors, as cited by the majority of the respondents. The data obtained indicated that the knowledge of the professionals and students related to caring for people with temporomandibular disorders was appropriate, however, important inadequacies were highlighted, such as the fact that professionals do not investigate the life history of the person in their psychosocial context.

O professor na visão das crianças: uma pesquisa sobre a construção do conhecimento social sob o enfoque piagetiano

The focus of this paper is on the construction of social knowledge according to Piagetian constructivist theory. We present data related to the ideas of children aged seven and eight years old about the role of the teacher. We observed 52 children, both male and female, immersed in two different educative environments: one considered socio-moral constructivist and the other one, traditional. The main results showed the particular processes of the individuals when they try to comprehend the surrounding reality. The only meaningful difference between the two environments studied was related to the comprehension of the necessity of formation to develop the function of a teacher. In the other aspects observed we have not found meaningful differences concerning the representations of the subjects as well as the environment in which they participated.

Política de indexação na catalogação de assunto em bibliotecas universitárias: a visão sociocognitiva da atuação profissional com protocolo verbal

The indexing policy must be represented by means of a philosophy that reflects the system's aims. One of the aspects concerning the indexing policy is relating to the data retrospective conversion. The general aim is to discuss and make a profound study on indexing policy guidelines and to analyze the elements to set up an indexing policy, that should direct the indexing procedures carried out in university libraries using the methodology of verbal protocol. The results demonstrate that the indexing policy serves as a support for the knowledge organization in the catalog, acting as a guide for the librarian when determining the subjects of the documents described in the records. It is concluded that the indexing only will be carried out in the university library during the documentary information treatment by means of a well determined policy.

Não aprender na visão de crianças e adolescentes brasileiros: um estudo evolutivo na perspectiva piagetiana

This article aims to present dada from a research about the construction of social knowledge under the Piagetian perspective. Beliefs of children and adolescents about not to learn were investigated. 80 individuals aged 6 to 16 years participated of this study. They had to answer to three methodological tools: a drawing, the analysis of a history and the analysis of a film which involved situations of not learning. It will be presented here the main results of the drawing task. Among other results, data indicate that a significant part of the participants blame the students themselves for not learning, by factors such as indiscipline and lack of motivation. Results also show that Brazilian individuals are not in advanced levels of understanding of social reality, even at older ages.

As causas da violência segundo a visão de crianças e adolescentes

O artigo apresenta parte de um estudo evolutivo a respeito das idéias de crianças e adolescentes sobre a violência urbana, fundamentado na teoria piagetiana. No presente trabalho são apresentados os dados obtidos a partir do primeiro instrumento metodológico (entrevista clínica) utilizado na pesquisa. Os resultados demonstraram que tanto as crianças como os adolescentes constroem idéias sobre a temática e que essas idéias não são cópias da realidade, mas reconstruções originais do sujeito. Também foi possível evidenciar que, dados ressaltam a importância de um trabalho adequado dentro da escola que leve em consideração as idéias que os alunos possuem sobre o mundo social.
